Left school in 2004. Spent two years as the Vice President of Legislation (and member of the board) of the local chapter of a national political organization, and was the legislative director elect of the state organization.

Past 2+ years have been spent as a writer for my state's Governor, and as her General Counsel's Legal Affairs Analyst.

Additional info & updates

01-30-08 May as well provide some info here. Almost certain I got accepted to the University of Washington, but I'll wait until I get an official letter. Also got an acceptance email from George Washington, good to have one in the bag.

01-31-08 Okay, official acceptance letter came today from the University of Washington. Regular sized envelope, nothing special.
Update: Okay, didn't mean that to sound like I didn't care that I got in. UW is one of my top choices. I meant the envelope was nothing special.

02-02-08 American University decided to beat me to the punch, and rejected me before I withdrew my application. I guess it's nice that my first rejection was from a school I had no longer had any intention of attending. It came in a small envelope, one piece of paper.

02-19-08 Northwestern's status check just changed to "Your application was received on 12/22/2007 and is complete, but still being processed internally." Not sure if this is an actual change, or if they just changed their language for completed aps. (Before it didn't say it was still being proccessed, it just said to expect a decision in 6-8 weeks.) I think I interviewed really well at Northwestern, and I will be thrilled if I get in.

02-20-08 Georgetown went to decision today, so I should be hearing from my first T14 soon. I'm really like DC, have some friends there, and the law school is in a great location. If I get in, it probably moves to the top of my list.

02-22-08 Rejected at NYU, and not really surprised. It wasn't my favorite school out of the bunch, but it's still the first rejection from a T14 school. (The first anything actually)

2-24-08 Rejected at Georgetown. First one I cared about, and it sucks. Oh well, hopefully I have better luck on the way.

2-29-08 Rejected by Stanford, not much of a surprise.

3-03-08 Boston College Waitlisted me today, and I am withdrawing from consideration.

3-5-08 Found out a couple weeks ago that the LSDAS messed up my Seattle University file and only sent one of the two LOR's that were directed there. They admitted it was their fault, and re-sent the letter, which is why my file went complete so late.

3-12-08 Waitlisted at Penn, which I'll gladly take. I'm sending them additional materials, including another Letter of Rec.

That is so strange...accepted at GWU and denied from American - this process is crazy sometimes! GOOD LUCK WITH THE REST OF YOUR CYCLE AND CONGRATS ON GWU - I HOPE TO HEAR FROM THEM SOON TOO!

Have you heard back from U Penn yet? Sorry about the rejections from T14 schools. It sucks for us splitters that GPA is weighed so heavily. :(
