Graduated in '99

I'm a bit older, and went through this process on my own. I had a difficult time judging the competing claims from applicants & current students who insist that the application process is just a numbers game, and others who say work experience and "maturity" would help. I think ultimately my experience provides conclusive evidence that.... it depends.

Mainly because of my gpa, I thought I might not get into any of the above. Getting my first acceptance was quite a thrill.

As of 2/28, I've heard from all the schools to which I applied.

I just called Berkeley, and basically made them reject me over the phone. Ouch.

Now somebody give me some ducats.

3/20 - Hey, what do you know - VA gave me $8000 a year.

5/2 - Headed to NYU. Psyched!

Sorry!!! But for me at least, I'm actually so sick of the waiting I don't mind hearing something - even if its a rejection (I've had months to brace myself). Looks like you've got some good options, I'm also trying for Chicago - good luck.

Sorry to hear about Berkeley. Just out of curiosity, why did you call them? I've noticed that several people did and I am not sure why. Did you hear something from them asking you to call? Still, I wouldn't worry about it if I were you. You've got lots of other excellent schools to choose from. :)

I didn't hear anything. Just felt like calling.
