I work in Charlottesville (where UVA is), so if you end up not wanting the big-city-life of NYC (NYU), C-ville is a cool place to live--good restaurants, lots of hiking trails, great climate, decent bars, lots of twenty/thirty-somethings . . . plus, UVA has a beautiful campus . . . and congrats on your acceptances!

and congrats on your awesome acceptances as well. With your engineering GPA I'm sure you'll clean up.

My choice is either between Oregon schools, or moving far, far away. Personally, moving to Seattle would be the same as moving across the country - and I could only justify a move of that magnitude with a T14 reputation. I did consider applying there recently, but it was after their deadline (Jan 1) so I gave up on that, lol.

Good to see another Engineering major on this site. We have almost identical profiles, EE major, 3.8ish GPA, low 170s LSAT, rejected at Stanford, in everywhere else so far. Good luck with Berkeley, that is also one of my top choices!

3.81/171 is where it's at.. good luck with chicago, boalt and the rest, it's likely nyc for me.

Hi Aiminghigh, Thanks for the comment on my page, right now I am waivering back and forth between Chicago and UT, not sure about Chicago's cutthroat reputation and would love UT, but don't necessarily want to go so much lower ranked... Good luck on Berkeley!

Hey, I've been complete at Boalt since 11/03. Do you think this is cause for concern? I'm really sweating this one as it's my first choice. When do you think it's time (if ever) to contact them to find out if I should have received some sort of response by now. I mean, 3 1/2 months is friggin ridiculous!!! Congrats on your other acceptances. You have some tough choices to make!

I have similar #s and am REALLY surprised that Chicago waitlisted you. You should have been a solid admit. What's the deal? Oh man...I'm so worried now.

Yeah, the Chicago waitlist sucks - but I suppose I jinxed myself by visiting. I'm really thinking my LORs must've stunk - so don't lose hope, I'm sure something was just wrong with my app.

Looking at all of today's waitlists at Chicago, I really have to wonder if this isn't yield protection... or something like it. Pretty much all of us are above one or both of their GPA/LSAT medians. I refuse to believe there is something wrong with my app! ;)

Is a cold unfriendly town anyway. Virginia and Berkeley are much warmer. It's their loss!

I'm pretty sure I want to go into either government or public interest, so the strong LRAP programs at Columbia and NYU are looking pretty good right now, though $$$ could pretty easily sway me. Are you going to send any supplemental material to Chicago? The letter almost made it sound like a quasi-deferral, so if you let them know you're interested you'll probably get in before summer. That or I'm being irrationally exuberant.

I followed your lead and called berkeley... and got them to reject me over the phone also. I blame you.

Are fools! What do they know. Do not discount U.VA, NYU and LC full ride! Those are great results and give you wonderful choices.
