Congrats on your first acceptance. What all have you heard about University of Maryland, I just got in and it seems to be a respectable school, but I am not from the area. Good Luck with the rest of the cycle.

Thanks for the congrats :) I heard from UBalt via email about two weeks after I was accepted that I had received a full ride. They are having a rewards dinner this coming weekend (March 28th). About two days after my email, I received a letter via snail mail.

Baltimore

Hey, I sent Baltimore the letter before I received any notice of scholarship, apparently they only give out full scholarships...so its all or nothing. So the "negotiation" was the fact that I had a scholarship from Fl. Coastal ...etc At the ASD the most interesting things were the student panel and the speech from the Dean..He is pretty new there and I think will really do wonders for the school, he was brought on to bring them up in the rankings, among other things. The students are happy there, there's not much competition and the EXPLOR program gaurantees students an unpaid internship in the summer, so everyone is getting work experience. Are you going to the ASD this weekend, or the scholarship dinner? Ill be going to that, but not the day activity. I also corresponded with a 3L there and if you'd like I could forward his answers to some of my questions to you...

Balt Curve
Wednesday, December 26 2007 at 07:00 PM

Hey Jen...I did ask about the curve at the students day, I cant remember his particular response, but I know he didnt give a specific gpa when I asked, he said there was a curve but I have heard that\'s its far less stringent than years past. You can check on the ubalt website and watch the deans q & a session on video and see what he said specifically. Hope that helps :) See you at orientation!
