Additional info & updates

May 15, 2008: Waitlisted at NORTHWESTERN!

Apr. 14, 2008: Waitlisted at SAN DIEGO?! I was not expecting that.. in fact, I was really hoping for a scholarship so that they'd be a real contender. I guess not. Withdrawing.

Apr. 10, 2008: Put down my first deposit for HASTINGS! I'll see some of you there!

Apr. 10, 2008: Withdrew from DAVIS, LOYOLA CHICAGO, and DEPAUL.

Apr. 7, 2008: Aaaaand, rejected from WASHINGTON & LEE. At least that feeling of nausea while waiting for the mailman every morning can finally subside. Only one more school to hear back from (USD), oh, and then, of course, praying for my NU hold to magically turn into an acceptance.

Apr. 4, 2008: Rejected from USC.

Mar. 26, 2008: Withdrew from Houston, La Verne, Lewis & Clark, Pittsburgh, Santa Clara, St. Louis, and Temple. Hopefully the spots get to those who want them quickly!

Mar. 25, 2008: In at HASTINGS! I can't believe it!

Mar. 21, 2008: Another one. Waitlisted at DAVIS.

Mar. 18, 2008: Waitlisted at LOYOLA. I'm so sad.

Mar. 17, 2008: Waitlisted at HOUSTON.

Mar. 11, 2008: Oh, man. Decisions have been mailed out by LOYOLA and HOUSTON.

Feb. 12, 2008: An email from LEWIS & CLARK telling me about an admitted students' website.

Feb. 7, 2008: Got a snail-mail acceptance from LA VERNE. No mention of scholarship.

Feb. 5, 2008: A sad day. Got rejected from UCLA via small, red-white-n-blue envelope. Again, not totally unexpected, but still heart-breaking.

Jan. 28, 2008: Email link to pdf of decision letter from NORTHWESTERN. My application is on hold, and will be reviewed again in May. Northwestern is my (unreal) top choice, and the fact that they didn't reject me has given me some hope. But because I'll need a student visa, I can't wait until July or August to hear back, because that won't leave enough time for the immigration stuff. Should I write that in my LOCI or deal with it as it comes?

Jan. 23, 2008: Call from LOYOLA CHICAGO dean congratulating me on my acceptance! Phew.. I thought that the Temple waitlist was the beginning of the end of my cycle.

Jan. 22, 2008: Letter from TEMPLE saying I'm waitlisted.

Jan. 15, 2008: Acceptance from ST. LOUIS in a large white envelope. Says scholarship info will be mailed out in about four weeks' time.

Jan. 2, 2008: First rejection from CHICAGO. I was expecting this all along, but it still hurts.

Dec. 31, 2007: PITT money offer to go with the money clip, I guess -- $12,000/year conditional scholarship.

Dec. 18, 2007: Got my SANTA CLARA letter! No money, unfortunately. Also got an acceptance call from DE PAUL, saying a letter has been mailed to me. It comes with an $8,000/year conditional scholarship.

Dec. 17, 2007: Still have not received anything in the mail, but I guess PITT thought I must've by now, because they sent out a financial aid email, which said something along the lines of "Welcome to Pitt Law." So yay! ... Then, about two hours later, SANTA CLARA sent an email with my e-campus ID and password, again, I believe, with the understanding that I would have received whatever it is they had sent me. This email said congratulations. I really hope I get the snail mail packages soon, just so I know it's for real, for real. I'm old school like that.

Dec. 11, 2007: PITT replied to an email I sent inquiring about whether my application is complete. They said a "decision has been rendered" and that they mailed out a letter on Dec. 4. Haven't gotten anything yet, but here's hoping it's not a rejection. Don't want to start the cycle on a bad note.

yea, our scores are almost exactly the same! but you beat me on the GPA though! haha. socal is great if you want nice warm weather all year round, i went to ucla for undergrad and it was sunny and warm even in december! and it hardly even rains. norcal is colder, expecially in winter, but im sure your winters are way more harsh than anything we have out here. what school is your first choice? best of luck!!

congrats!!

The status checker does change when they mail the decision. It will have a note about a decision being reached.

Thanks

for the reply, and best of luck to you too! I'm convinced that waiting is the worst part of the application process!

i'm incredibly excited about davis, after waiting for MONTHS in "evaluation in progress." looks like we applied around the same time, so i'm sure your acceptance will be coming soon! as for loyola, i've also been sitting at "complete" for eons. even though i may end up at davis, i have some ties to LA that still make loyola very appealing. anyway, gl to you on all of your remaining schools! you have some pretty solid choices so far - what is your top?

Congrats on everything so far

great job, will you withdraw from waitlist at Loyola if you've decided to attend another school, I'd greatly appreciate it, Loyola's my first choice school and I've been waitlisted. Good luck.
