******** For those of you who consider yourselves URM's, there is a really great admissions guide at www.forpeopleofcolor.org. I'm sure many of you have already familiarized yourselves with the site and guide. It's truly helpful and the President and Chairperson is a wonderful attorney who's passionate about getting more students of color into law school and the legal profession. The guide has helped me tremendously throughout this past year and I hope that you all spread the word to diversify the field.

We have similar numbers and school interests...good luck with your cycle! Any specific school that you are hoping for most?

Your questions were, 1) when you received your acceptances and $$$ offers, had you already sent in your fafsa and financial aid forms? 2) were those offers based on your academics/scores? 1) I am currently sending in my FAFSA and Fin Aid information, so I received the scholarship offers before turning those in. 2) My numbers weren't stellar, so my offers were definitely not based on academics. They said the offers were based on my work experience and writing ability. I was a bit suprised with the offers. I think a lot of it had to do with my visiting the schools multiple times (Widener & Drexel). I think gettinng to meet with the administration and people in the admissions office went a long way, at least in my case. They gave me a lot of feedback and really helped me. Congrats on your cycle. Way to hang in there. Second time was a success for both of us. Any preference on where you want to go? NESL was somewhere I looked at. I liked the idea of studying and living in Boston.

No one has any reason to doubt you. You will do great in law school, just like anyone else who is willing to sacrifice and work hard for 3 years. Obviously, NESL agrees.

NESL

I think you'll really enjoy NESL. It is a cheaper, smaller, Suffolk....all things considered. What a lot of people don't realize is that many of the professors at Suffolk also teach at NESL. I've met some of the faculty and they are extremely nice and very approachable. Best of luck this fall!

PT or FT

congrats on NESL. Did you apply there FT or PT? Either way its a great school. Our numbers are almost the same, however, you beat me in LSAT. I was wait listed there for the PT program. Now i am thinking i should have applied to FT. What am i going to there if i go PT. Anyways any advice on NESL for me. Good Luck.

Hi, we have about the same numbers, so your profile really appealed to me. First I have to say congratulations on getting into law school. I have a question though, did Widener accept you into regular, or was it through the conditional TAP program? Please email me when you get a chance,ty
