9/10/08 I have a lot of schools on my "possible" list... I'm waiting to see how my LSAT goes. I've prepared like 30 apps on LSDAS, and will probably submit 10ish. Only school I am definite about applying to is Ohio State.

9/17/08 Okay, so I'm getting the future list culled. I'm looking at 10-15 schools: 2-3 safety, 6ish target, 4-6 reaches (some may become targets if I rock the LSAT!)

10/14/08 So... the LSAT wait is killing me!!! Sorry, needed to vent. I'm finishing all the other writing business and just got word that all 4 of my recs are in! YAY! I didn't even have to send reminders.

Good Luck to anyone out there with similar #s! May the cycle gods smile on your application.

10/27/08 LSAT score wasn't as high as I was hoping, but I'm going to stick to my decision that anything 160 or higher I will not re-take in December. In light of settling with my score, I have updated my schools I am applying to. This should be the generally final list... fee waivers may sway me a bit.

12/1/08 Haven't updated in a while... All the apps are in, it's the waiting game now. I keep seeing people with answers from some of my schools showing up in the graphs and it only makes it worse :( I'm placing a personal bet with myself that I hear from a school in the next 2 weeks (if i didn't believe fairly strongly in bad luck I'd post which school and what I think I'll hear). I just hope the bad weather and airport shut downs doesn't negatively effect the admissions commitees being able to get back together post-thanksgiving and admit me :)

12/12/08 FIRST ACCEPTANCE!!! I don't have internet at home right now :( so I have to check my email while at work. When I got in this morning there is was... the Catholic U. decision in my inbox. I actually made one of my co-workers look at it because I was too afraid!

I'm really glad that I got into Catholic, as it was my higher ranked safety school. I can officially become a lawyer now! YIPEE!

12/19/08 Email acceptance from Quinnipiac! 2 for 2, into both of my safety schools!

12/27/08 Letter rejection from George Mason. :( all I can go with is Oh Well.

12/29/08 So, LSN has been right on (based on past years) with my cycle so far, and looking at stuff, I'm freaking out a bit that it seems I have 2 safety schools, 2 target schools and 12 reaches. Why oh why didn't I think this through better! So, I'm pondering adding Northeastern, Cincinnati or Penn State to the list.

12/30/08 So I did it. The $59 extra dollars was worth the peace of mind that I have a couple more targetish schools on my list (Penn State and Cincinnati).

1/12/09 When I returned from vacation, I had a rejection letter from Georgetown waiting for me. Didn't really expect to get in there, but booo :(

1/21/09 Out at Indiana. The more I thought about that one, the less I wanted to go there, so I'm okay with it.

** William & Mary and OSU are marked as #1 because, well, I've decided that they are my number one choices that I might actually kind of have a prayer of getting on a waitlist... maybe :)

1/26/09 Out at B.C... I really like Boston as a city, but becasue of the 3 rejections coming before this... I was prepared/expecting it

1/28/09 Out at Maryland... I don't think I'm the first person on here to say I expected at least a waitlist :(

1/28/09 Waitlist at Temple. I think I'm going to withdraw from their waitlist. Catholic has better DC job prospects, and will put me into less debt in th end. Just trying to help out my fellow waitlisters and get them to the top of the pile!

1/30/09 Northwestern ding. Didn't think I had a prayer of getting in.

2/3/09 YAY! After 6 rejections and 1 waitlist in a row, getting this acceptance feels very good :) Plus, my mom is happy since Penn State is close to home... now she's going to start lobbying for that choice!

2/9/09 Waitlist at American! I didn't expect that one... LSN told me I'd get it, but my cycle was trending downward so I wasn't hoping for much. I will definitly stay on this one! Also, ACCEPTED AT CINCI! I think being in-state helped, as LSN had me ready to be waitlisted. Only a couple left to hear from!

2/13/09 Withdrew today from Penn State, Quinnipiac and Temple's Waitlist. Price/ranking/location-wise I would rather be at Catholic or Cinci, so I descided to give others a chance!

**To all you others out there: if you decide you don't want to attend a school, withdraw in a timely manner so others still pending or on a waitlist can have a shot at going some place they are actually interested in.... I'm looking at all of you accepted at American :)

2/14/09 Received my rejection from George Washington. Happy Valentine's Day to me!

2/17/09 Sent a "HEY I WANT TO GO TO YOUR SCHOOL!" letter to Ohio State. I was given a pretty awesome new responsibility at work that I wanted to update them with, but I also just wanted to remind them I'm alive :)

2/21/09 received a scholarship letter from Cinci for $4OOO per year!! Combine that with in-state tutition, not a bad option!

3/25/09 Wow, so I couldnt log in for a month! Rejected at Emory... no biggie there, but WAITLISTED AT W&L!!! Wow, I don't know what they're trying to do this year waitlisting an extire swath of the graph, but hey, who am I to question!

Had a phone interview with Catholic to increase my scholarship, but they'll have to give me a significant amount of $$$ to make up the $10,000 difference between their tution and tuition at Cincinnati.

I'm still waiting on 4 schools and am now officially the oldest complete at OSU without hearing anything. WooHoo! I'm taking the no news is still good news approach there, and if they admit me (pleasepleaseplease) I am 98% sure I'll go there. By then the only one that could sway me would possibly be W&L.

4/1/09 Updated my WL at W&M... I'll stay on becuase I would LOVE to go there, but my hopes are definitly not up.

Catholic increased my scholarship to $19,000, but I don't think it's going to make the difference. I will probably send in my deposit to Cincinnati today! You know, it would actually feel good making a decision if SOME SCHOOLS OUT THERE would just give me a yay or nay...

4/6/09 Accepted to Northeastern! I would ADORE Boston and like the school, but no schooly $$$, so I don't think I can make the commitment to go there :(

**It says I'm attending Cincinnati, BUT I'm still pending at 2 schools, and on several good waitlists. Here is the ranking layout (If I were to get accepted off of stuff):

1. OSU
2. Washington & Lee
3. William & Mary
4. American/Cincinnati/Brooklyn

by the 4th spot, the money at Cincinnati would be hard to turn down to go full price at American or Brooklyn, though I'm not ready to rule out either.

GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE AS DEPOSIT TIME ARRIVES!

4/7/09 So my OSU Status checker just went to decision... I don't see extra boxes, am not listed as an alternate and haven't received an email or anything, so I'm feeling it's either a yes or no, and nothing in between. As someone on TLS put it, i'm "waiting in scarlet and grey purgatory".

4/8/09 I checked the OSU status checked agina this mornin and I had the fabled boxes 4,5 &6!!! THANK YOU TLS! I have enough confirmation that these extra boxes mean I got in, so YAY!!!!! There are no words for how excited I am right now!!!

UPDATE: I got a confirmation email!!! I will be going to OSU next fall!!! I've now updated my Extracurricular Info to help those others out there! YAY!

Hey, I was noticing that as well. Good luck on your cycle! Are you from Ohio or go to school there?

Good luck!

Thanks! I'm happy that I got accepted to a couple solid safeties. I think both schools are grossly underrated, especilly depaul. After perusing their website, I was left confused over their ranking. That school has it all, plus its in Chicago! We definitely have a ton of schools in common, so ill be watching your cycle for sure. Ohio State is my number one, so I applied ED. Hopefully ill get in, and this process will be over on Dec 20th. I see you're applying to Emory. I went there for undergrad, and its an absolutely amazing place to study. I'd give it considerable thought. I hope you have a great cycle!

hey, we have similar numbers, are you applying to G'town/GW's part time program or full? good luck!

yea you never know, doesnt hurt to send in an app. good luck!

re: OSU
Thursday, July 03 2008 at 08:00 PM

Thanks! I just found out they call admitted applicants, so ill have my phone with me 24/7 all week. I def try to take LSN with a grain of salt, but its a solid predictor nonetheless. Do you know if these people at OSU are "non traditional" applicants? I have my unique qualities, but nothing life-altering that would compensate for my numbers.

re:OSU
Thursday, July 03 2008 at 08:00 PM

I hope you're right! I'm two years out of undergrad as well, so I'm excited to go back for my law degree. My numbers are slightly fudged because of adcomm patrols, but not too much. I think you have a great shot as well. I'm really banking on the ED thing. I hope it shows them how much I want to attend

thanks!
Thursday, July 03 2008 at 08:00 PM

Thanks for the congrats! Four for four so far feels good. Still nothing from OSU, but I suppose ill find out on Monday at the latest. Any news from my alma mater down in HotLanta?

You and I appear to be the oldest "completes" out there. I'm really interested in OSU but haven't called. How about you?

I received a letter via snail mail on Feb. 24 informing me of the deferral.

Hi!
Saturday, February 07 2009 at 07:00 PM

We're practically number twins, and I was also an English major! I wish you luck! Did you apply for the full-time program at American and GW? I'm applying to the part-time at both.

RE: OSU
Monday, February 09 2009 at 07:00 PM

They sent me a letter about 3-4 weeks ago, saying they were going to look at my application again and let me know at the beginning of April, they asked me to send in any updated grades and letters of recommendation. I havent heard anything yet so I decided to go with UC I just havent been able to log on to LSN to update it. We have almost the same numbers; I see you are attending UC also.
