App. Fee Waivers from GM and W&L

01-27-06 Here we go- Florida State is a "yes." Letter dated Jan. 24th arrived today.

01-31-07 Glory, glory, we love Georgia- found out via status checker that I'm in at UGA

02-03-05 In at Tennessee. Letter dated Jan. 29th arrived today.

02-15-07 Withdrew from Tennessee and FSU cause the degree of financial aid they were discussing with me only equaled Georgia's. Since I was immediately eligible for instate tuition at UGA and it was a better choice for me to begin with, I decided to withdraw from those two schools.

02-20-07 In at Alabama. Received email at 10 p.m. tonight.

02-26-07 Received my Alabama information package with full tuition scholarship notification today!!

02-26-07 Received acceptance via snail mail that I'm in at Florida.

02-28-07 In view of Alabama's full tuition scholarship, Georgia is willing to give me $3000 per year- Meaning to attend Georgia would cost me about $20,000 total in tuition. Is that justifiable when Alabama would be $0?

03-01-07 Been to Gainesville a couple of times and wasn't too impressed. Also, a former roommate who went to Florida Law couldn't convince me to choose Levin College over Alabama or Georgia so I decided to withdraw from Florida.

03-02-07 Emailed the remaining law schools to inform them that I need a decision soon since my fiancee has a March 15th deadline on a job offer. Iowa responded that my file had been reviewed already and I was accepted!!! George Mason said they should render a decision by that deadline but W&L didn't respond. I guess that's a bad sign.

03-13-07 Well everybody I have talked to within and outside of the legal community has agreed that Georgia is the obvious choice given the career and financial plans of my fiancee and I. So I told her to take her job offer and now we are Georgia bound.

03-19-07 Well, mailed my acceptance of UGA's offer last Thursday and today, I mailed my declination of Alabama's acceptance and scholarship. Still waiting on word from George Mason and W&L. Call me selfish but I figured that if I withdrew from them now, I would always wonder if I was good enough to get into those schools.

03-23-07 Well if I want a clean sweep of acceptances I'm going to have to wait. Waitlisted at W&L via letter.

03-26-07 Waitlisted at George Mason- Sorry George, but I'm going have to say no to the waitlist.

03-30-07 My congrats to Georgia Mason moving from 37 to 34 in the rankings, Alabama from 43 to 36, And TENNESSEE making the big jump from the 80's to 53.

05-29-07 Not that it matters but I updated my GPA after this semester's grades- going from a 3.37 to 3.39

What made you withdraw from tennessee?

Congrats

On UGA and Bama. If it were up to me, I'd choose UGA even though it's 20k more. UGA seems to have better placement rates in the south. Though since you are an AL native, maybe you want to stay in state. If you haven't been to Athens, its awesome.

Actually, I am a recent Georgia transplant to Bama and UGA is my alma mater. On one hand Georgia is "been there, done that" for me and Bama is a new challenge, but then again, I agree that all the points you make give UGA an advantage.

georgia extended that offer with no provocation from me...however, i have been in contact with them in an attempt to wrangle a tuition equalization scholarship, which i feel condfident about getting, assuming they received my scholarship acceptance letter. were you at the admitted students day at 'bama?

Hey, my index is identical to yours at George Mason and I got in last week. I'll bet you will too - may want to email Dean Price though. She's awesome and if she likes you via email, odds are good she'll review your file asap. I did not get award money, but they gave me instate tuition, even though my residency was somwhat problematic...so I guess that counts for something! :) Good luck!

I'm not from alabama

I guess Ala. is the default value for state... congrats on UGA!

Funny you should post that today, they just called this afternoon. You're right though, it is kind of annoying that they took so long, especially in relation to other applicants. Oh well, hope you hear soon, good luck.
