Additional info & updates

Update 01/21/08: Duke sure knows how to make a four day weekend better!

01/28/08: Acceptance letters make being snowed in bearable. NYU!

02/04/08: Small envelopes are apparently good from UW.

02/05/08: A whole box from Vanderbilt full of stuff. No financial aid yet, though.

02/06/08: Call from the UCLA dean today. He seemed like a pretty nice guy.

02/07/08: Got a nice little letter from Georgetown, with a handwritten note from the dean referencing some stuff in my personal statement. Good to know they're reading it. Also, complete at Harvard. Come on Toby Stock, give me a call!

03/03/08: Scholarship info from Vandy and Michigan. Heading to visit Columbia and NYU this weekend.

03/10/08: More news. Got a full ride offer from UCLA, which seems very tempting due to my increasing paranoia regarding debt, but after the amazing NYU ASW I am just about set on going there barring a HYS acceptance. I visited Columbia as well, and was accepted today, but have gotten a bad vibe from them throughout this entire process. Here's hoping for more good news.

04/13/08: Ok, after attending the ASW I'm putting a deposit down for UCLA. Full ride in perpetual sunshine for the win. I'll be withdrawing from everywhere else I've been accepted soon.

04/14/08: Deposit down, withdrawls are in. Good luck to the waitlisters at all those other schools. Still waiting for HYS out of curiosity/dread. If anybody else is UCLA 2011, drop me a line, I'd love to hear from some fellow future Bruins.

04/15/08: Just when you think it's all done and you can relax, here comes Yale with a waitlist instead of my anticipated reject. Ah well, another round of frantic writing/LOR-seeking ensues.

04/15/08: Got my final aid email from UCLA, and apparently my scholarship was a little bigger than I thought. 42k/year, which covers not only tuition, but also all fees and apparently health insurance as well. Still kind of mind-boggling that people want to pay my way through a fantastic law school.

04/23/08: Waitlisted at Harvard. Let the nerve-wracking wait begin.

04/28/08: Well, that's that. Rejected at Stanford. Ah well, off to finishing LOCI's, then.

It looks like you'll represent Spokane very well. I'm sure you'll have your pick of almost any school on your list.

Congrats!

Congrats to you as well! Great to find a numbers twin that is also from Washington. It sounds like times have really varied for TS1 e-mails, but it seems like others who sent their apps earlier in December recently had calls... Maybe we'll be next! I'm hoping our geographic diversity will give us an edge...

Congrats!

I'm sure in-state at Washington would have been tempting if you hadn't gotten full-rides to comprable schools. Good luck with Harvard, I think you've probobly got it, and hey, if you wanted to throw UW a W that would sure help out

Go Bruins!

How was the ASW? I couldn't make it, but I put my deposit in anyway. I moved to CA about 8 months ago and just can't bear to leave!
