Additional info & updates

11/06 - Georgetown accepted! Small envelope and note

11/21 - Call from Ed Tom. I was extremely surprised.

11/24 - Call from Rob Schwartz. Caught off guard!

12/04 - E-mail and phone call from Faye Deal.

12/06 - NYU postmarked letter. Didn't receive the actual mail until 12/12. Nice (paper) purple folder by snail-mail.

12/20 - Call from Michael Machen (IN AT CHICAGO!!!)

12/22 - Upenn acceptance. Received an e-mail....but no phone call before. hmm... puzzling. Anyhow, I'm going to CHICAGO!

01/27 Sigh. Don't know whether to be happy about Harvard or sad. Chicago has always been dream school, but Harvard is Harvard.

It's been a while since I've updated, so here's the rundown:
USC is just about the only school that's been stiff arming me; everyone else got back really fast.

How did I get into some schools post-ED?
Well, some schools demanded that I write them paper-pencil to request withdrawal. Between the time I actually got around to sitting down to write those withdrawal letters and the time it took to get them sent out, a few notable acceptance packets/phone calls came.

What puts Chicago at the top of your list? I assume you'd still choose it over Stanford?

That's awesome. I'm actually pretty excited about Chicago too, and I would probably attend if admitted. I was just wondering about your thought-process (as another Chicago fan). Anyway, take care! And, congratulations again...

I decided not to because I felt I had a really solid chance with my numbers. And, I dont want to preclude myself from the possibility of merit aid from Chicago... Plus, although I am pretty excited about the school, I feel like it's too early to commit without knowing my other options.

Congrats on Chicago - Guess I'll be seeing you come orientation time. If you get a chance, catch the neo-futurists (my favorite bizzare chicago theater company.)

A belated congrats on Harvard, but I'm sure you made the right choice! I read your post on LSD about why you chose/preferred Chicago over SLS, and it sounded like you had really done your research and rationally decided that Chicago was for you - no second-guessing that! I hope to see you at the Chicago ASW! :-)

Wow!

I see you did Chicago ED but now got into Harvard?! What a predicament...anyway, I was just wondering some of the reasons that made you go ED from Chicago? Maybe I'll see you at their ASW?

great job
