Additional info & updates

I'm going to law school!

$ is per year

5/3: My cycle is over, aside from 2 waitlists. I'll wait them out for a little while, but I plan to attend NYU this fall.

4/8: I put down a deposit at NYU, and barring any miracle acceptances from Stanford or Harvard, I'm attending NYU in the fall!

3/31: Awarded a Dean's Scholarship at NYU-$15,000 for the first two years and $7500 for the third year (more possible through public interest program)

3/28: Have withdrawn from a bunch of schools with more to come. I'm leaning towards Boalt at this point, though NYU is also pretty enticing.

3/9: Accepted at WUSTL via email

3/2: Waitlist email from Michigan. Immediately sent off a letter of continued interest, a Why Mich essay, and an updated resume. Here's hopin'!

2/9: Hold email from Harvard-which actually isn't that bad of news considering my #s

1/24: In at Cornell via email

1/19: Acceptance email from Notre Dame offering $15,000 renewable fellowship.

1/16: Deferred at Northwestern-pleasantly surprising, as I'm coming straight out of UG and didn't do the interview or a why Northwestern statement

1/15: Phone call from the dean at Cardozo

12/11: Acceptance package from NYU! Such a shock-I thought for sure I'd be deferred at this point.

12/1: Enormous and fairly fancy acceptance package from Duke (I especially enjoyed the bookmark hehe)

11/24: Phone call from Dean Schwartz at UCLA while I was in Target doing some Black Friday shopping...pretty classy on my part

11/21: Email from Edward Tom at Boalt! I basically had a heart attack.

11/20: Really nice letter from Georgetown with handwritten, nearly illegible note

Your WE/ECs are much better than mine, I must admit, although I do have some. Congrats on all of your acceptances!!! What's your first choice?

hey around what time did you get the boalt phone call?

boalt..

i mean e-mail. sorry...

I'm sure you're in

I don't think you need to worry about Duke at all...I have no doubts about the fact that you're in. I got the call from Dean Schwartz at UCLA too, so now I just hope that Boalt will be as nice to me as it has been to you. In terms of my top choices, NYU and Boalt are definitely up there, along with UCLA because it's public and where I go now, so it has that advantage. I would also love to go to Stanford, but I doubt that's going to happen. I'm also going to be thinking about Duke because they accepted me into their JD/LLM in International Law program, so....some tough choices up ahead for all of us, no?

Thanks

Congrats on the acceptances! Did you apply to Duke for the JD/LLM? And what's your first choice? Good luck with the rest of the cycle :)

for the kind thoughts. I thought I'd get into Gtown too, but it seems that most of the ppl accepted EA had at least 167 LSAT...maybe that's their cutoff? Hopefully the next adcomms who read it will like me more. Did you write any optional essays for Gtown (i.e. diversity?)

Thanks!

Congrats to you too on your great acceptances. Also, where did you do mock trial? I also competed as an undergrad . . .

Congrats on NYU!!!
Friday, November 03 2006 at 07:00 PM

That's amazing! And they accepted you so quickly...it looks like my prediction was right, you did get into NYU next. I can only hope that I might get a similarly favorable response, although I'm not sure at this point. You will have such a hard time choosing...

ooh! nice nyu admit -- i'm hoping for the same. you applied to harvard around the same time i did...you should be going complete soon. do you think it's bad if i've gone complete w/o the t-stock phone email? i'm a bit broken about it, especially w/ all the talk about the harvard emails.

Congrats!

Congrats on your decision to go to NYU! I'm just about to put down my seat deposit...see you in August!

Congrats on NYU!
Friday, November 03 2006 at 07:00 PM

Congratulations with NYU! That's amazing that they gave you a scholarship and everything. Is that what made you choose them over Boalt? I haven't even heard from the yet...which I guess means that I was probably rejected, but it's okay. I am leaning towards Boalt at this point. Anyway, good luck with everything!

Seriously...

...I know, there will be so many people at NYU it will be hard to figure out who is who! But the facebook group helps a bit, I think.

Hey, congrats on all your acceptances. It's a kinda cool, our numbers are pretty similar, we both went to UCD undergrad and we are both planning to attend NYU. You are my twin.
