American of Boulder. I do not how that would work with your husband.

here's my 10 cents...i can only speak for ohio schools. i really liked my visit to case, faculty was very positive and interested in the students. downside is case an expensive school and in the middle of cleveland - snow city! onu has a nice law library, however ada is a very remote place - even for ohio! haven't visited toledo or cleveland st. i'm told the csu library is extensive and a good place to study. visited akron - nice school, but i am not sure how well their degree "travels" outside of NE ohio. ohio st seems like a fairly competetive school. my visit there was ok - mostly a fin aid chat & tour of building. i did sit in on a class - alt dispute resolution which was interesting. i'm shocked that dayton offered you no $$$ whatsoever. keller hall is a fantastic facility, but the school is silly expensive. where has your husband applied? i understand your concerns about planning two lives around a choice to go to law school. my wife & i live & work in columbus. we have family in cleveland which opens up a few more options. this will be huge change for us no matter where i end up...

Thanks for all the info Nextcareer. I'm very interested in everything about the schools in Ohio right now. My husband is Oarsmen on LSN. He's in at Toledo, ONU, Rutgers, WNE, and UDC, and Willamette. For financial reasons, I'm really partial toward the Ohio schools right now. But I also like UConn. I think American is out, TOO expensive and my husband would be at UDC which doesn't seem like a good school. Yeah, I was surprised Dayton gave me $0 too. And I don't understand why Case hasn't accepted me yet... But then again, I was surprised that I was accepted at Boulder, so I think I am just not good at predicting this stuff!

lost in the shuffle

I just found my admissions papers from Dayton, and among them was a page that was somehow unnoticed before--indicating an 18k scholarship per year. I feel like an idiot! And all this time I thought they didn't like me.

Gee FU do you spend your time tagging all LSNers with your message of cheer, or are you specifically annoyed by anything on my page? I'm hoping for the latter actually as the idea of spending their life just typing "f*ckyou, die in a fire" etc to anonymous people with whom they have no actual problem is just really depressing. Nope, I hope I have somehow pissed you off personally :)

CWRU - Hold?
Sunday, May 22 2005 at 08:00 PM

Just wondering...has Case communicated with you at all re: your app? I got an email from them in February telling me they had the app, and then nothing since. I'm surprised they haven't admitted you based on your scores alone. Good luck!

they sent me a 'hold' letter-- asking me to communicate to them my continuing interest. A lot of people got these lately. If you haven't heard back, I'd definently write them of your continuing interest now. It seems like they only want to accept people who are likely to really come?

Same here

I also got the "hold" letter from Case, and my numbers should be an auto-admit there. I can't figure out why.

Make that 3

Got my Hold letter Monday. It was full of references to making sure I was really interested in attending Case. They must be swamped with apps and looking for another way to sift thru them all.

CSU for sure
Saturday, August 06 2005 at 08:00 PM

Hey Ravenna, I'm definitely going to CSU. I'm from Cleveland, and I want to do plaintiff side employment law, so it's important to me not to have much debt. CSU has an employment concentration, and I thought I might get a scholarship, and I'm going to live w/ my family next year, so the other ohio schools just didn't make a ton of sense. As for the other schools I applied to- my boyfriend goes to UNC for grad school (I'm with him in Chapel Hill this year), Temple sent me a fee waiver, and I thought Villanova might give me some money (wrong!). Also, I have family in Philly. The real competition was between CSU and UNC (cause my bf's there, and it's a great school) and even before I heard from UNC I had figured out that CSU was a better fit for the lawyer I'd like to be. Congrats on all your scholarships! I went to the scholarship reception at CSU, were you there? I feel pretty enthusiastic about CSU, and I love and miss Cleveland and can't wait to get back. E-mail me if you wanna gab about this! Of course I will only want you to go to CSU, but I have heard totally unconfirmed hateful gossip about other ohio schools.

case
Monday, May 02 2005 at 08:00 PM

Yes, they are offering me 18k. All is forgiven now ( I had been very frustrated with how long it was all taking). I'm pretty sure this is where I am going to go. For 25k, I'd be absolutely certain. Husband is waiting on an answer from OSU, if accepted we will have to decide between the two, and OSU will be the cheaper choice. It is unlikely he'll get in to OSU. He's a cinderella admit at Case. I really like Case, so I'm happy. My visit went well at both schools, and I would be happy at either, for different reasons.
