Additional info & updates

Took LSAT back in 1998. Seems like it is much harder now.

2/29 - Waiting game is getting old. I keep applying at more schools. I think I am done now, though. Just take a deep breath...

3/7 - In at Mizzou per phone call. I always appreciate the personal touches from a phone call. Missouri is in the running for me.

3/9 - Waitlisted at DePaul via email - kind of a bummer, but still it is not a rejection. I have not been rejected yet, but I am sure that will change soon.

3/12 - Very excited to be admitted to Idaho - with a late night (7:45pm) phone call from the Director of Admissions! It is a good location to spend 3 years, just hope to get some $$ to close the deal.

3/13 - After seeing the latest rankings in USNWR, I am very pleased to see Missouri making probably the largest leap up the rankings of any other school, 107 ---> 79. That is a plus 28 showing, and gets them back into range of where they were in 2009 - 65th. MU is looking pretty good to me right now!

3/14 - Not so excited to be waitlisted at Denver (DU) today. Still no rejections, but I wanted this one. I even went for PT/Evening and no dice....

3/19 - Waitlisted at UIUC today via email, accepted at Washburn via phone call

3/20 - Rejected at GMU today - not surprised given its ranking, but still don't appreciate it. Doubt I would have gone anyway as the DC area is prohibitively expensive.

3/23 - Waitlisted at Nebraska this morning via email. Not sure what to make of this...

3/25 - Waiting for replies and decisions is exhausting! I am about 2 weeks away from having to make some decisions on which deposit to pay to hold my spot. Hope I have a lot more info from some of my top choices before then....

3/29 - Heard good news from Gonzaga today! They are at or near the top of my list as of today due to the $$ and location.

3/30 - I really thought that this week would bring a bunch of decisions, but it was not to be. I think the main reason is that a bunch of schools are on spring break this week.

3/30 - So far, I think this cycle is going relatively well. I am batting .500 and have a shot at higher. I applied to 23 schools. Of these, 17 were within reason given my numbers and background. Some were more of a given that others. 6 of my apps were to reach schools. If I get only 1 of my reach schools, I will have been successful. If I ultimately get 50% of my achievable schools, then I will count the cycle as a success since I applied late in the cycle. If I had applied early I would have wanted to see 75%.

3/31 - Waitlisted at CU via mail today. Actually, I feel pretty good about this and hope to find a way to work myself off of the waitlist.

4/2 - Learned of acceptance to William Mitchell today via status checker. It also indicated that a package was on its way. Also, just learned of denial from Utah through regular mail - pissed about that one. This week is starting out as a busy one with mixed results so far.

4/4 - Notified that I am on the waitlist for sure at Lewis & Clark. I had been previously on an extended hold.

4/4 - Starting to narrow down my choices. Today. I am withdrawing from Idaho as I have been admitted to Gonzaga at near equal prices. Really, this just came down to location. At this point in my life, I don't see myself settling into a small college town for 3 years.

4/5 - Accepted at Seattle today, via email!! Summer program, so I'll have some quick decisions to make!! Waitlisted at Kansas today via status checker.

4/6 - Letting my offer at Missouri expire today. Just couldn't pull the trigger on being in the middle of Missouri with more than a two hour drive to get to either KC or STL. Also, after an unbelievably long wait - Chicago Kent has waitlisted me.

4/11 - Learned of my status as "preliminary waitlist" on the Iowa status checker.

4/13 - Received email notice of being placed on the Official Waitlist at Iowa.

4/13 - Withdrew from Pacific today - just couldn't stomach the cost even with the scholy they threw my way. The stipulation was so bad that it was basically like I could only count on the first year of it.

4/19 - These last schools are really taking a long time to make a decision. Received word of denial from New Mexico via email - very disappointing.

4/20 - Dreams dashed with a waitlist decision via email today from Minnesota.

5/1 - Waitlisted at Pitt via email.

5/2 - Waitlisted at Temple via checker. Almost done with my cycle. Only waiting on Oregon now.

5/4 - Waitlisted at Oregon via snail mail. I finally have decisions from all schools, but still have 12 waitlists to deal with.

5/23 - Admitted from the waitlist at both Chicago-Kent and Denver today. Both are very expensive, so I will need to get some scholly relief for sure.

5/24 - Wow!! Just admitted to Pitt via status checker. I am flying off of these waitlists like crazy!!

I applied to the day program. I was called by a Dean that was ex-Army JAG. I am still deciding where I am headed. I applied late to several law schools, so I'll be waiting for a bit before making my decision.

Maybe at LS Days

Thanks, same to you. Still deciding if I am going to the Legal Scholar Day event. I'll post it on here, and maybe we'll be there at the same time.

Hi, yes, Washburn did offer some $$. Just haven't published it yet. I will do so when I make a decision regarding Washburn.
