was there anything in particular that you did the second time around that helped? any specific books or anything? take a class?

Duke

I was priority track at Duke. They just took a little longer on mine for some reason. Best of luck on a great cycle. You will have no problems getting accepted.

Congrats!

NYU

They called my dad (he went there for his LLM) and told him that I had been admitted and that they wanted to let him have the oppurtunity of giving me the good news. I guess they were trying to add a personal touch. :) They said the letter was going out soon, so hopefully you'll be hearing some good news from them! :) Good luck!

Cornell

Cornell came via snail mail and my status checker has links to the accepted student website and says I am an "accepted student". I think only those who have been accepted have that information on their status checker, so you might look for it! Good luck this cycle.

Congrats!

Congrats on getting in at Duke. I certainly hope to find myself in Durham in three semesters' time.

Your numbers seem good for Northwestern. Do you not have any WE? I'm surprised you were deferred.

Congrats!

Yup, I thought I wrote a pretty decent Why Penn essay (I mentioned visiting the school and falling in love with the campus, as well as pointing out specific programs of interest). I think you'll be fine, actually - the data on LSN seems to indicate that our #'s range usually entails an acceptance from Penn, so I'm probably just a fluke. Maybe they didn't like my PS or something :P.

Congrats!

Chicago

Any insight into the defferal at Chicago? We've got really similar #s. I'm wondering if I should be expecting the same thing or worse.

Chicago

Dude. It was waiting for me when I got home yesterday -- looks like lots of people got the same thing. Did they give you three prompts for an optional additional essay? If so, were they: 1. National primary? 2. Judicial Comp? 3. Recent Book/Movie? I'm wondering if everyone gets the same thing. It was great to get the CLS letter. I'm still going to give one of these essays a shot though. Prob end up in NYC either way, but in a sick way this "on hold" makes Chicago more attractive. If your absolute worst case scenario is deciding b/w Penn, UVA, & Gtown you're in pretty good shape.
