Additional info & updates

Upward trend GPA. Mono spring semester freshman year caused academic probation. Currently working as law clerk and auditor.

Phone call from SIU today 3/3/10, accepted. Told packet with scholarship info is in the mail.

3/6/10 Received SIU packet. Nice presentation, also $4000 renewable scholarship combined with in-state tuition rate after first year makes for quite the deal. Easy decision to make, I'll be in Carbondale this fall.

6/25/10 Retook the LSAT earlier this June, score went up five points to 160, one point/question away from full in-state tuition! That's frustrating.

Scholarship still doubled to $8000 per year. Still set on attending SIU, but now it will cost me much less.

8/6/10 Wow. Out of nowhere I got an email from Admissions at IU-Indy asking me if I was still interested in their school. Couldn't pass it up. I will be withdrawing from SIU on Monday. Looks like I'll be staying in Indiana for school.

Hi rtoconne, Congratulations on SIU...I'm going to their open house on March 26th, are you? I was wondering what made your decision to attend there so easy? Was it based solely on how cheap SIU is? The reason I ask is right now SIU seems like a hidden gem, but I am not sure if I want to spend another three years of my life is a college town.

SIU had a nice open house, and being down there just felt right for me. I ended up leasing an apartment too. It's five minutes from the law building. Shoot me an e-mail if your looking for a place and I could give you a heads up on some nice places. -Harrison
