That's awesome about NYU! Hey, do you mind indicating if you're on the East Coast, West Coast, etc? I'm just trying to figure out if all the 12-15-05 admits are on the East Coast and if the rest of us will have to wiat another couple of days. Congrats again.

big relief

thanks, yeah I'm on the east coast, it seems the accepts are still trickling out west, good luck

close numbers

We have similar numbers, yet I remain in limbo waiting to hear from Harvard.

not to mention your numbers (which are actually a little higher than mine) your soft factors were obviously impressive too if you got into both stanford and yale. I know it's a pain to have to wait, but it looks like you still have a great shot at H, despite the hold. good luck

You kill me on numbers, but I like your style on where you decided to apply.

x yale

yale's geography: 1. in a lackluster town, and 2. about 10 mins from where I grew up, provided some disinterest. also, not to take anything away from yale, b/c obviously it is a great school. but frankly I don't think it stacks up with C or H (opportunities wise); its small size gives it a superficial appearance of being more selective than it actually is, thus influencing its usnews ranking, not necessarily indicating a higher quality of education. also, C and H have the benefit of deeper parent institutions, with (again) more opportunities for cross-education. not to be hung up on rankings, but if you look at the "shanghai rankings" for a broader perspective on the quality of the institution, again you'll see that yale is great, but not quite the 'brass ring'

thanks

Thanks for the encouragement and the cool idea. Can you give me the url of the directory you are referring to?
