Thanks for the input. Yes, Hastings is my first choice. I intend to attend a class in Spring and keep in contact to show my continued interest. I am only applying to a limited number of schools since I would like to stay in the Bay Area so I am not sure about transferring. It is not over yet so I am still hoping to get in! What school is your first choice?

Final Choice

You are absolutely correct about attending where you'll be happiest! I found it interesting you mentioned weather- a major reason most of us CA folks moved out this way. I have started to look at other interesting schools away from CA because a few years out here will teach you there is a lot more to personal satisfaction than just nice weather! Having lived out here for 3+ years, I think it's important that applicants realize that a nice region may not actually yield the most satisfaction if the career opportunities are not available. I want to have as many options on the table as possible when I make the final decision. I'd rather knowingly turn down a higher ranked school than look back and wish I had applied & possibly had the opportunity. I've actually become grateful that I was deferred by Hastings ED and now have the opportunity to look at the other options that I had not taken so seriously earlier in the cycle.

The City

Thanks for the advice. Hopefully I can move into the McAllister Tower because I like the proximity and price. That's funny that you mention Alameda/Oakland/Berkeley because that's my hometown and I have lived in all three places. I DO NOT want to commute. Well... at least for my first year. See ya at Hastings!!! I can't wait to live in the city!
