congrats on the 165! i think you have an excellent chance of getting into both hastings and davis with a score like that. have a great cycle!

Oh wow, fellow Berkeley Grad
Saturday, October 20 2007 at 08:00 PM

Hi, I also graduated from Berkeley (this makes me smile). You have much better numbers than me. I didn't do ED at Hastings (I don't think my chances are really that good anyway of getting in there). But I definitely wish you the best of luck getting into your first choice. I wouldn't even bother applying to Golden Gate, the school has major issues, and I don't think you would want to go there (even with a full scholarship). You've got strong numbers, you will get into a top school. Great seeing another bear! Go Bears! (although this season has been one of major disappointments)

EC @Hastings
Thursday, October 18 2007 at 08:00 PM

I'm hoping the EC helps @Hastings, I figure we're marginal. Of course, your 165 puts you in a much higher % accepted bracket than my 164- one stupid question! Oh well... Best of luck! I'm really excited to hear from them. I'm hoping the LSAT @75th% helps. Living / studying / working in SF would be GREAT! Good luck! I'll update my profile when I get the 'complete' e-mail from them and when I hear anything (probably deferral...).

possible advice?

how difficult were econ 101a and 101b, and how much multivariable calculus should i know before taking those courses?

as far as apps go - except I'm not appying to NYU or Columbia.. Your LSAT score is much better than mine...what's your first choice (do you have one?) Mine is Hastings/Berkeley. Good luck! Maybe I'll be seeing you at the same lawschool!

St. Thomas
Tuesday, April 17 2007 at 08:00 PM

Friday, August 10 2007 at 08:00 PM

hastings
Monday, October 29 2007 at 08:00 PM

i dont know, i just feel like it is a good fit. i know some people who went there and loved it. i also loved it when i went and saw it. boalt is awesome, but i doubt they would give me the time of day. im really hoping for hastings and hope my LSAT (which is at their 25%) can be overlooked.

Friday, August 10 2007 at 08:00 PM

Thanks for your good wishes... I don't necessarily have a top choice but I would really love to get into BC/BU. Hastings is certainly up there too. A lot of my buddies from school are from the Bay Area, so I've been up there a few times and absolutely love it.... Good luck w/ the rest of your cycle!

Housing
Wednesday, December 19 2007 at 07:00 PM

San Fran is a great city, I love it. When considering housing options be sure to determine what your priorities are i.e.; living close to campus, networking like you suggested; getting away from school during finals; experiencing san fran and all it has to offer; getting involved in the clinics and the courts; space; etc. BART is a great public transportation system and ideal for students who want to live across the bay in Oakland, Berkeley or Alameda. Be sure to take advantage of all there is while in san fran. Good Luck!

UCH admittance
Sunday, November 18 2007 at 07:00 PM

Acceptances after your admittance to a binding Early Decision agreement are each one a rejection for a person who might be dreaming of entering that school.....I can see you are going to be a great lawyer....

I hear what your saying...and yes, i hate the 180, 4.0 people too.. I am still waiting for my dream school acceptance, I'm glad that you were admitted to yours...

Hastings...
Sunday, September 30 2007 at 08:00 PM

Actually, I'm still thinking about where I want to go... Hastings vs Santa Clara. Are you set on Hastings?

haha...
Sunday, September 30 2007 at 08:00 PM

yeah, i know that hastings is the higher ranking school... but i might be interested in getting a jd/mba (which SCU offers)...

Hastings

Thanks for the post. You seem fun/a bit nutty. Congrats on your acceptance and enjoy your bottle o' Moet.

withdrawing
Monday, March 12 2007 at 08:00 PM

why are people being punks about the way that youre withdrawing? it seems like youre going about it the right way. and at the very least they should have the balls to put their name with what theyre saying. but that's just my opinion.

Drop me a note
Wednesday, January 24 2007 at 07:00 PM

Sorry; haven't been at lsn for a long time, just saw your post. Be delighted to "chat."

hastings aid
Thursday, March 22 2007 at 08:00 PM

I never actually got a notification from them about my aid, I was checking the online "electronic award" thing (you can find the link off the Financial Aid page) and that's where I found out.

Your Question
Sunday, April 06 2008 at 08:00 PM

Sorry, I didn't see your comment before. The $7500 grant showed up on my financial aid offer that was mailed to my address. They didn't communicate it to me any other way.

help
Tuesday, August 05 2008 at 08:00 PM

Hi, I hope you will be able to help me to get into law school. I am next in line on a waitlist and I noticed you were accepted to the University of St. Thomas, if this isnt your first choice or you are not planning on attending and have indicated in the past that you were planning on attending, could you just send a quick email, indicating your intentions not to go to Law School at the University Of St. Thomas to LAWSCHOOL@stthomas.edu and c.c. have2463@stthomas.edu (thats me) This good deed to help a stranger will Im sure be returned to you at some point. Thanks so much.

Davis vs. hastings
Saturday, January 31 2009 at 07:00 PM

Quick Question: Why did you think you were less competitive at Davis than Hastings? A 6.9 index score for Davis almost guarantees admission; its right at the 75% mark. I want to go to Davis, so your results are perplexing to me. Let me know if you have any advice for this future 1L! Ben.
