1. Nov 2010: Finally finished up all my applications and now playing the waiting game. I still have about 5 schools that I wanna throw in the mix but I'm not too sure about spending another $300.

2. Nov 2010: First set of applications should be hearing something back soon. I constantly check my online status. Been in active communication with Loyola, Vermont, and Northeastern.

3. November 29, 2010 - First rejection via email from UVA. I actually was expecting this as this was in my first batch of schools and I didn't spend that much time on the initial PS. I had also visited the school and did not feel that it was a good fit for me or my family. Patiently waiting :)

4. December 1, 2010 - Job interview in DC with NACCHO. Hmmm so much to think about. Work or law school? Could I work and go to school? If American decided that they loved me I could work and go PT. Decisions....

5. December 2, 2010 - Considering applying to the following schools that I have fee waivers from. A little nervous because I know its late in the game but trying to increase the odds.
List: Catholic, GSU, University of Utah, Hofstra, and University of Illinois. Should I send them an email? What to do???

6. December 2, 2010 - Rejected from Washington & Lee via status checker. Gosh this is starting to become very overwhelming now. Will I get any acceptances????

7. December 9, 2010 - Rejected from Boston College via snail mail. Added a few more schools to my list. Emailed UCONN and received fee waiver.

8. January 6, 2011 - HAPPY NEW YEAR: First acceptance into Loyola Chicago :)

9. January 11, 2011 - Rejected from UC Berekely via email.

10. January 14, 2011 - Rejected from Illinois via email from Dean Pless. Sucks so bad. Really interested in that school.

Randomly checked American status checker and saw that I was denied. Oh well. I guess they already had enough ppl in my LSAT range. Not very disappointed.

New job offer in Policy Analysis that starts on Tuesday, January 18th. Can't wait. Two rejections and 1 job offer. Works out for me.

11. Week of January 21, 2011 - A bunch more rejections during this week via either status checkers or emails. Kinda depressing. I really only want 1 more yes and its from Northeastern. A little frustrated at this point and wondering if I should have re-taken the LSAT.

Thank you! Regarding the scholarship it is the Community Service Scholarship that is mentioned on the application. Typically all applicants that have demonstrated a "committment to community service" will receive notification that they have been awarded this scholarship once they are accepted. I received notification with my offical acceptance letter in the mail. I had a year of service with AmeriCorps and had to submit proof of this 30 days after I received the award letter. But they do have a few other scholarships that are on the financial aid section on the website. The deadline for all internal scholarships is March 1st. Have you been admitted to Loyola as well? Are you planning on attending?
