Additional info & updates

Scholarship numbers are for 3 years

---------------------------------
4-11-11: GSU it is! Love(d) Emory but can't justify the price tag. Glad to be done...with this phase!

4-9-11: Emory visit days were fantastic. Great cadre of students, faculty, staff, etc., but cements my decision to withdraw. Hard to explain, but the reasoning is clear in my head.

2-21-11: Visited UGA again. School and classes are suitably impressive but Athens is unnecessarily utopic. Pretty sure I'd miss "adults" after three years.

2-17-11: In at Emory. Wow. $18k/yr scholarship at Emory. WOW. This decision just got really hard. Hello, ulcer, thought I got rid of you.

January/February 2011: $20k per year at UMN, visited and loved GSU, under consideration for GSU full ride, visited and loved UGA, running the numbers over and over and over. What to do, what to do??

1-4-11: Status checker update at GSU. In!!!

12-27-10: Scholarship offer from UGA. Wow. Humbled.

12-23-10: Woo hoo! Phone acceptance to UMN - probably my first choice in a perfect world. Anyone want to buy a house in Atlanta at 2007 prices?

12-21-10: Got the first telephone acceptance from Boston University while at the in-law's. Very pleasantly surprised - makes me think my "softs" are more solid than I thought. Could I have cracked the T-14?

12-8-10: Accepted to the University of Georgia! Would be a 60 mile commute, but don't have to sell the house. HUGE sigh of relief!

12-2-10 (afternoon): In at Santa Clara via Status Checker! They must have been feeling my angst. Feels awesome to have one on the books!

12-2-10: Six applications in and complete. Still debating on Northwestern. Would love to hear SOMETHING from anyone. Patience is not my strongest trait apparantly.

11-5-10: Fantastic interview with Northwestern U alumnus. Is it worth the $100 application fee when the economy will likely prevent me from moving if accepted? Is there any professional capital to be gained by an unlikely acceptance?

10-29-10: 167 works for me! Let the applications commence!

10-9-10: Sat for LSAT again and very pleased with post-test feelings. Time to sit and wait and try to be productive.

10-5-10: Just hit "Submit" on GSU and had to catch my breath. Amazing how roller coaster-y this journey has been.

10-2-10: Very excited to have LSAT behind me in 7 days and to get going on some deferred maintenance to the house, yard, body, etc. Ranging from 166 - 174 on PTs. Not going to be too needy - will be thrilled with any improvement.

7-6-10: Beginning preparation for retaking LSAT after a 162 on June 2010. Not bad, but can do better - 7 weeks wasn't sufficient.

4-16-10: Have confirmations of 5 strong LOR - 1 UG instructor, 1 UG coach, 2 employers, 1 GS thesis advisor

4-13-10: Preparing for LSAT. Consistently acing games section - speaks to my science mind. Improving on the arguments. First practice test (3-10-10) = 155; Last night = 169. Studying is going well.

Good Luck to you man! Wish I had your LSAT score! You got a good mix of schools; sure to get in most places you apply to in that list.

Northwestern Interview

Hi Who did you interview with for your Northwestern Interview? I am also in Atlanta and applied to Northwestern. I interviewed with an alumnus at Alston & Bird. W2e have similar schools and stats, minus grades and race. Can't wait to see what schools you get into. Wishing you good luck!

It was a status checker change. Hopefully not a glitch!
