Additional info & updates

My GPA and LSAT are both below the 25% percentile for the T14. (GPA between 3.0 and 3.4, LSAT between 160 and 164) I explain in my applications that I am not another new college graduate or paralegal and why law school is the logical step at this point in my career. My soft factors, growing up in urban poverty, and work experience are important parts of my application.

I also want to stay close to the NY/DC corridor. My legal interests are international law and public policy.

3/14- After much consideration, I have decided to attend Columbia Law School. The choice came down to it or Georgetown (no offense, Harvard). I chose Columbia ultimately for four reasons (in order):
1. It allows me to stay in New York and do some part-time consulting on the side. This way, I can make some money and allows me to be active in my current work and social circles.
2. I can do some work at SIPA and the Earth Institute
3. In my opinion, it had the best facilities.
4. It wound up being marginally cheaper than GULC.
(I love it at the U.N. and I have the option of returning there after I'm done, so jobs didn't really play any part in my decision.)

Anyway, I have withdrawn from all the other schools. Good luck to all.

Awesome! Congratulations. I'm glad to see that you got into so many top schools--- rightfully so. I'd take you and your work experience over any of the 3.9/170, straight out of college types. Congrats.

1st choice

Congratulations on Harvard. If you plan on attending there instead of Columbia would you mind withdrawing your application. I don't think I have a shot at Harvard, but am dying to get into Columbia. I'd appreciate the help.

Columbia

Congratulations on all your acceptances! It's nice to see someone with some overseas time and work experience headed to Columbia - I was interested to see your reasons for chosing it over your other options and have made up my mind for similar reasons. One question - in what aspect did you feel Columbia\\\'s facilities were better?
