Additional info & updates

I definitely welcome advice regarding my eventual decision! There are so many options. Will definitely be a tough decision this spring!

11/24/09: Call from FSU regarding a scholarship offer! They left a message asking me to call back, but I got the message too late. Will definitely call tomorrow !

11/25/09: No one there today, so I'll have to wait until after the break to hear about the FSU scholly!

11/30/09: Just received word that FSU has offered me a full ride!

12/10/09: After a status date update 12/07, just received email from Cordel Faulk, Direction of U.Va. admissions, asking me to call! I'm in!!!!! eee!!

3/15/10: haven't updated in a while. Accepted to Vanderbilt, UF, and Emory, with scholarships at each of the schools. Planning to withdraw from Georgia and W&M to free up a spot for someone on the WL.

Visited GULC and fell in love. Just really worried about paying for it :(

3/16/10: Withdrew from UGA today, in hopes that admissions can offer my spot and scholarship to another applicant. With the Emory acceptance and scholarship, as well as the UF and FSU scholarships, I knew that I would not be attending UGA.

3/17/10: UA Law scholarship increased today to include an annual $1200 book stipend. Sweet deal!

3/20/10: Waitlisted at Boston University yesterday. Weird. Did not want to go there anyway. Withdrew from the Waitlist today. Also withdrew from from William and Mary, in the hopes that my spot and fellowship/scholarship can go to someone else.

3/22/10: Happiest person ever right now!!! Just got notified by Dean Cornblatt that I'm an alternate for merit scholarships!! So happy!

Also, withdrew from UF today to help out the WL applicants in the secondary applicant pool. With a full ride from FSU (which I like better), I knew there was no way I would attend UF.

4/01/10: Withdrew from FSU and Alabama, turning down a full ride at FSU and a full ride plus book stipend at Alabama. Very painful day!

4/15/10: Withdrew from Emory, Vanderbilt, and UCLA today, and the Duke Waitlist. Cycle is so close to being finished!

4/29/30: Withdrew from UVA (Very tough decision) today. Was notified via email of a $22,500 merit scholarship to Georgetown! Woop! Committing to Georgetown. Cycle OVER!!!!!!!

Totally stoked about my first acceptance. I see that you added some additional schools; good, with your (our) numbers you have a good shot at a lot of the higher ranked ones you added.

Thanks!

Hey yea so we're numbers twins eh? I didn't wanna overdo apps so I don't really have any real safeties right now, I might add some if need be later in the cycle. Congrats on the acceptances so far and good luck with the rest of your cycle, I'm sure you're going to get more good news from some of your other schools!

Hi! Thanks and congrats on your successes so far too! I decided to do the GW ED because they have such a great international law program, they also take such a small number through the binding program that I decided that it's meant to be if I get it! Probably won't be looking at a full ride anywhere else. Good luck!

yeah, and you have a great username lol...but I most certainly will be attending UA's accepted students meeting this January...I have visted before, and it seems like a great place to study law: a calm, laid back atmosphere.

Thanks!

But you have a badass GPA, so I'm sure it'll even out. Thanks for the well-wishes, though, and good luck on your cycle!

Congrats

Im definitely going into this holiday season feeling very good. Congrats on your scholly money thus far, hopefully it carries over into the T-14. Good luck at Harvard, hopefully we get JR1s.

Nice job! 168 all the way haha. Out of curiousity, why haven't you applied to those schools you listed as "Intend to Apply?"

thanks!
Sunday, September 27 2009 at 08:00 PM

And I'm sooo totally not sure about where I'll end up. Obviously HLS is fantastic, but I'm obsessed with New York City. So I'm just going to wait it out, I think.

Welcome to the T-10

Congrats on UVA!! Way to go I knew you would make it into more stellar schools.

Thanks!
Tuesday, August 25 2009 at 08:00 PM

Congrats to you, too! Apply to Michigan, GW, etc. You have awesome chances...

Friday, January 08 2010 at 07:00 PM

Thanks! You pretty much summed up my feelings...I don't know how I can turn down a full ride, but I know I'll kick myself forever if I turn down HLS! I wish someone could make this decision for me! Congrats on your cycle as well, how's your decision coming along?

Looks like Boston's not going to work with my significant other's situation, so Harvard is probably out. Too bad, I did really love it when I visited. It'll probably New York or DC for me, though any of the schools I haven't withdrawn from are still possibilities. How about you, any thoughts so far? You have a lot of great options, really can't go wrong! Maybe I'll see you at Georgetown next year?... :-)

I guess so :-)
Monday, January 11 2010 at 07:00 PM

Yeah, I guess he is pretty great :-) We've also been in a LD relationship for the past 2 years and are in our late 20s already, so being in the same place is really important at this point. I know sacrificing that is something I'd regret much more in the long run than choosing one law school over another, especially when all my options are really great. And the scholarships at the non-HYS schools are a pretty nice side benefit too :-)

Thanks
Sunday, October 25 2009 at 08:00 PM

Thanks! I don't yet know where I'm going to choose... way too many good options!

Thanks!
Monday, January 11 2010 at 07:00 PM

Yeah, I'm pretty sure I'm going to go to NYU - my bf has a good masters program option at Columbia and possibly a PhD, and the full scholarship (plus that it's their international law scholars program which is what I'm interested in) are great for me. How about you, any more thoughts on where you're headed next year? You've got some great options there and some pretty tempting scholarship options yourself!

Georgetown
Monday, January 11 2010 at 07:00 PM

They gave me an April 15 deadline to respond to the scholarship offer, so probably they did that for other people - hopefully more alternates will hear back on Friday! If you haven't been in touch with the admissions office recently, it's probably worth letting them know that Georgetown is pretty much your top choice but the scholarship would make up your mind. They were really nice and responsive going back and forth with me about things. Good luck!

Congrats!

I haven't been on here in a while, but just logged in to check something and saw your Georgetown decision and $$. That's great, congrats! And you'll love DC I'm sure :-)
