Thanks so much! And congrats to you for what you've achieved so far. I am sure more good news is headed your way. Applicants like us really have a tough time proving that we are more than a one-time and completely OVERWEIGHED score. But I truly believe it is the schools loss. And we'll be great wherever we go :-)

I'm having my application at ND held until my Feb scores are released, which is a shift from my earlier apps. They do have a reputation for reviewing files more holistically, but their median LSAT is pretty high. Have you considered retaking? Even just 2 points would put you into the next band, which they consider for reporting purposes. You'd also probably get into your WL choices right away :-)

Hey PattyCake. I have already taken the LSAT twice so I am not retaking it. I did write a why ND essay but not for UConn. Yes it would be great if we did end up somewhere together, you seem like a really cool person. I saw your post on TL in the W&L thread, those guys in that forum are pretty brutal :( they attack people for no reason at all. I think I may lay off that forum, it's not too helpful. Anyway this waiting game is really nerve wrecking, I am just trying to maintain my sanity lol. Goodluck the rest of the way!

LOL I know, that was actually a pretty constructive conversation for TLS - I've seen people get hammered on there for no reason. It tends to be more brutal the higher-ranked the school is - if I posted a comment like that on the Fordham or Columbia thread I'd probably be burned at the stake :-) It's good you wrote the Why ND essay, I hear that helps a lot.

Thanks, I'm not too broken up over it - W&L was a real stretch for me so I never got my hopes up. And honestly, their application process being so pleasant made it sting a lot less. Quick turnarounds, constant updates, and decisions usually issued in 3 weeks? I'll take all of my rejections that way, please (and my acceptances, too, for that matter)!

Congrats on Indiana and John Marshal! I'm hoping to get off the WL at Cardozo after my retake (it's one of my top choices and close to home), but I even if I do I doubt they'll offer me a scholarship. I don't think I'll be able to afford it unless I want to rent my kid to a circus for 3 years... then again, he might like that idea - he sure loves elephants... ;-)

Fingers crossed for you for UConn! I had a date change after I went under review, and then it was another couple of weeks before I had a decision. Hope you hear back soon!

Hey here is to hoping we can both turn some of these WL --> A! I know the stress/pressure of not knowing where you will be living in the fall. Hang in there and just take it one day at a time! When it comes time to make a decision listen to your heart rather than barraging yourself reading outdated skewed statistics of employment etc.. We've already won the game by getting into law school. If you are still waitlisted at W&L, I would write a "Why W&L" essay. may make movements. And say they are one of your top choices. They dont want to offer you a spot and you dont take it, that looks bad for them.

I just got the need-based grant I was hoping for from UConn, and I kind of fell in love with it when I visited it. I'm still deciding, but it's down to 2 or 3 schools with UConn leading. I'm still waiting on a few decisions, but unless I have major scholarship changes after sending out a few more negotiation letters I will almost definitely be at UConn. Northeastern's offer was pretty disappointing, and others have posted that they don't negotiate scholarshipsoffer, so...

Where are you leaning toward now, W&L?

Uconn is beautiful, I am sure you will like it. I am leaning towards to Loyola Chicago

Both our cycles show we didn't Attend the highest ranked school we got into. We're going to the schools that we think we'd be the best fit and have the highest chance of succeeding. You're going to have a lot of opportunities at Howard. Good luck!
