Extra Curricular Information

I'm only posting this to be helpful to other applicants. My cycle is obviously pretty simple, but here goes.

EC's -- nothing really all that spectacular. Officer for my school's Finance Club, member of a couple community outreach groups, member of my college's community choir.

Also, fairly strong work experience in finance (wall st. mostly).

First generation to graduate college.

Additional info & updates

3/22 - acceptance packet from NYLS. Full-ride. Will soon withdraw.

3/20 - got the welcome packet from Temple. Full tuition if in top half of class. Temple's #1 choice again. I'll be in Philly this fall.

3/16 - got the envelope from Rutgers. Full tuition all three years w/gpa above 3.0. This might make RU my first choice.

3/14 - email from Temple. Letters go out by Friday. Woo-hoo!

3/12 - email from Rutgers. Acceptance packet to go out in the next few days.

3/12 - NYLS kinda sucks. I had to call them to find out my application was complete and ready for review.

unless you have SPECIFIC reasons for applying to only these 3 schools, I think you SERIOUSLY undershoot your chances at the top law schools. your scores would have put you in at schools in the top 15.

Reasons

Ok, kiki123 makes a good point. I do have specific reasons. One, I'm married. Two, I'm expecting a baby this June. Three, I have no interest in delaying my attendance to school. All those reasons tie me to my current geographic area. Four, I had only one letter of recommendation, which sounds majorly retarded but having graduated from college 4 years ago, all my recs had to come from work experience and my last job ended due to a highly publicized scandal. Needless to say, didn't want recs from criminals. Left me with one stinking recommendation.

We're going to be classmates next year! Are you excited about Temple? The Open House made me really glad that I'll be going there, and hopefully I'll meet you in August. Best of luck with the baby!
