Michigan ASW 3/8-3/10
-I had an amazing time at Michigan! I will say that it helped that I had built in friends since there were SO many LSDers there--but that's not what made it great. The school is wonderful and I could honestly see myself there for 3 years. The Law Quad is beautiful and looks like Hogwarts. The reading room is like something out of an old art book of italian works of art. The professors really went out of their way to meet us and provide answers to any questions that we had. The students were the best part though. It didn't feel like an act--they all loved their school and had no regrets. Mock class and the real class were great, and while I was confused at a lot of moments, I can see that with enough effort, one should really do well (unless the curve shits on you, lol)

While I liked Ann Arbor, I can see how, for me, it would get old in a short amount of time. The weather was extremely nice for this time of year, but my friend who is there for his PhD warned me not to be fooled. Also, it seemed that Columbia got a lot of shit, though mainly subliminally. Also, what many tout as a positive, the fact that students gravitate towards the school and stick together and probably couldn't in a place like NYC, is not a positive nor negative to me.

UVA ASW 3/16
-While I was happy about my UVa acceptance, it never got the excitement and anticipation that Michigan got. That all changed with this ASW. I LOVED the school. THe campus was BEAUTIFUL. The grounds were green and well kept--and let me tell you, I'm not a big grass/foliage person! The building was modern, but still had beautiful woodwork and columns and the like. There were many nooks that the students could study in, so not to be confined to the library.

I loved the fact that the law campus is separate from the ug campus. While that may hinder me taking part in some special ug symposia, I appreciate the fact that I wouldn't have to deal with drunk undergrads.

I have some misgivings about Charlottesville though. Supposedly, I didn't really see the metropolitan areas of it. I'd defintely need a car (and a license as well!). Also, as a person of color, I've heard some things that concern me as well.

On the whole, I had a wonderful visit! UVa is definitely a contender for 2010.

Fordham ASD 3/24
-Ok, so I mainly went to visit Fordham bc a)I wanted to meet some more LSDers and b)I live close by.

I had a good time at Fordham. I think that the facilities could definitely use an update. I got the idea from my own visuals as well as the current students that the school is definitely cramped. Their biggest auditorium cannot even fit the entire student body. The library was VERY nice though.

I got the feeling that the profs and the admins were VERY enthusiatic about Fordham. They seemed as if they truly wanted their studetns to achieve success. It seems that the Fordham network is real and very prominent in NYC.

I think Fordham is a good way to go if you want to work in NYC, especially over Brooklyn and Cardozo. Thus, I will be withdrawing (again) shortly so that people can have a shot. Good luck!

Columbia ASW 3/28-3/29
-So I'm so in love with CLS...I'm 99% sure I will be there in the fall. I had a wonderful time with everyone I met. Let me just say that the admissions staff is fucking cool as hell!!! They did karaoke with us at the BLSA event and everything. Good times.

CLS is not full of mean gunner douches. I never subsribed to the idea in the first place bc I wanted to give the school a fair chance. I loved what I saw. Intelligent people who were fun and cool. Everyone was nice and super friendly and they seemed truly happy.

The law school is very modern with lots of glass rooms and everything. The biggest lecture room actually has a mic at every other seat. That's kinda scary but I'm sure I'll get over it. The library isn't a beautiful as Mich's but I don't plan to spend a lot of time there anyway. Another good thing isthat the housing is really nice and and there are a lot of options--and it's also guaranteed for all 3 yrs.

Overall, I think it's quite possible that I'll be in the CLS Class of 2010. :-)

University of Chicago ASW 4/12-4/14
-Ok so I missed day 1 because I got admitted so late and it was short notice for my job. So I arrived in Chicago at 8:20am Friday morning.

UofChi is an AMAZING place. So much so that I'm conficted in my decision. A couple of weeks ago I was set on CLS 2010, now I have more thinking and stressing to do.

I don't know why people say that the law school is ugly. Maybe I'm not hard to please or don't possess a discerning eye, but the place wasn't ugly. They have this huge fountain at the front of the quadrangle that is a nice eye opener. The interior of the law school is beautiful and weird pieces of artwork all about. Theclassrooms were nice, modern, and have comfy chairs (better that the one's CLS has that are attached to the desks). The library is undergoing construction but that will be mostly done by the time school starts in the fall.

I can tell that the profs are amazing! They seem really genuine and know all of their students by first and last name. Dean Levmore is funny as hell too--and actually teaches first year classes. He did a good job to dispel the conservative slant rumor and fears about law and econ based classes (though, to be sure, law and econ do permiate quite a few of the classes--but you won't suffer if you've never taken an econ class, bc thatwas something I worried about).

Overall, very conflicted. Money is a wash--I need to make a decision soon. I wonder about the quarter system and small class size--I can find pluses and minuses for both. Also, quarters would be nicer if they had a wider course selection which is a negative for me. Sigh.

CLS 2010 or Chicago 2010?

Additional info & updates

And so it begins...

**************************************************
11/9/06
-Seems like Mich is taking forever to request my report. It's getting me worried.
-Northwestern alumni interview--went VERY well (according to the both of us, and he said he would
write me a glowing review :-) )

11/10/06
-First complete at UVa!
-Complete at GULC via status checker!

11/14/06
-Apparently, WUSTL and Fordham are notorious for taking really long to request reports. Good to know.
-Email from ND saying that I would be notified in 4 wks if my app was incomplete.

11/15/06
-Complete at Northwestern via status checker.

11/17/06
-Complete at Vandy by email.

11/18/06
-So I check my online bank statement and see that Penn has deposited my check. They haven't emailed me or sent anything telling me that I'm complete, though since they did deposit the check, I would like to assume that I"m complete there. Sigh.

11/20/06
-Complete at Penn via email.
-Waiver from Emory received in the mail. Dunno whether I'm going to apply yet, though I probably will. (LOL yea I applied really fast didn't I?)

11/21/06
-I'm still stuck on this PS for BC. I want to apply...but the idea of writing another essay is killing it for me :-(
-Found out I was complete at GW after I emailed the admissions staff.

11/27/06
-I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving!
-Fordham's status checker needs to be updated ASAP! It's been a full 2 weeks since the last update and it's killing me.
-Mich, I would REALLY LOVE to get a status check id, pretty please?
-By this time, I should be complete basically everywhere (especially Duke, ND, and Mich) except Emory.

11/27/06 Part 2
-Got my Mich ID for the status check and I'm complete. Let the waiting and neurotic status checking commence!!

11/29/06
-Complete at Duke via email

11/30/06
-Complete at Fordham via status checker
-3 more to go!!

12/5/06
-I'm getting ansy to hear some good news from a school. I'm so anxious and worried I won't get in anywhere!!!!

12/8/06
-I got a letter on Wed from WUSTL saying that they have all the parts of my app--but I have to wait for a complete notice.
-It's been about 4 weeks since I got the received letter from ND, and since they haven't contacted me about missing parts of my app, I'm going to say that I'm complete.

12/12/06
-My Mich status checker changed to decision...I'm so scared!!!

12/13/06
-Complete at Emory via email. Complete at ALL of my schools.

12/14/06
-IN AT MICHIGAN!!!!!
.........................................
-now that the excitement has worn off *grin*, I'm so happy about my Michigan acceptance. It's a great way to start off the cycle, a t10 at that! Received a welcome letter with a personalized note at the bottom from Dean Zearfoss; access to the admitted students site; a cd-rom; and a cool blue Mich folder. I know for sure now that I'm going to ls next fall!

(btw, for those who may ask, I did write the "Why Michigan" essay)

12/21/06
-I'm happy for all of the new Penn admits...but...I'm a bit jealous. I really hope that I get in, as it is one of my top choices---TOP! I would love to have the choice between Mich and Penn.

12/26/06
-In at Vandy via snail mail! My mom read the letter to me. Came in a thin envelope. Letter dated 12/20/06

1/3/07
-Waiting for [hopefully] good news from PENN, UVa, and NU. For some reason, I feel like Duke and GULC are going to ding me in the near future.

1/8/07
-Still waiting...it's been really quiet. I hope all of the bad news doesn't come at once :-/

1/12/07
-In at ND via email from Heather Moriconi! Said that acceptance package would be in the mail, but that she wanted to give me the news as soon as possible). $$ included in email.

1/16/07
-In at Emory via snail mail!!! Letter dated 1/4/07.

1/21/07
-I'm hoping and praying that I will be accepted to UVa and Penn. It would really bother me if I don't get into both, especially Penn. Sigh. Praying for good news...

1/22/07
-In at WUSTL via email!! Said that official acceptance package will come in about a week or so, and that I should be hearing from their scholarship committee in Feb. Excellent!

1/23/07
-So, so far I'm in at 5 excellent places (and 1 of my top choices to boot). Yet, I have a feeling of dread that my luck will soon run out--especially because I mainly have the t14 left to hear back from. Sigh...I hope my "luck" extends to at least Penn, UVa, and NU. :-(

1/29/07
-First ding from Northwestern via status check. It sucks but I'll get over it.

1/30/07
-Decided to withdraw from Fordham. There's no need to keep it up there (especially since they are taking forever). I wouldn't go to Fordham over any of my other choices.

2/2/07
-Waitlisted @ Penn via email. Kinda down about it and
wish they would have just rejected me outright. Sigh.

2/5/07
-Sent confirmation of me staying on Penn wl.
-My UVa application has gone to decision via UVa status checker. Sigh. I hope it's good news.

2/8/07
-IN AT UVa!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm buggin out--this is great news considering the decisions I received last week. This has also made my decision that much harder: Mich versus UVa. But I'm happy to have the choice! Came in beige envelope, postmarked 2/5.
-Will be withdrawing from Emory in the upcoming days. Hopefully the spot will go to someone who really wants in!!
-WUSTL still hasn't sent my acceptance packagenor given me any info from their scholarship committee. I'm going to w/d, but not before I know all of the information.

2/9/07
-Received official acceptancce letter from WUSTL; said that I am being considered for one of their Scholars in Law awards. WUSTL is still in play...

2/12/07
-Mailed in withdrawal for Emory

2/15/07
-In at Fordham via email. I withdrew via email on 1/30 and per the last Fordham status check update, my status read "withdrawn before decision"....so I'm in...for how long, I don't know. I guess I"ll see when Fordham decides to update their status checker again.
-Waiting [im]patiently for GULC, Duke, and GW
-My finaid info is in for Mich,UVa,Vandy,ND,WUSTL--so I'm waiting for responses from them in that regard.
-UM IN AT CLS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'M TRIPPIN! In via email--a PDF of my acceptance letter was attached.

2/16/07
-Still in shock over CLS. I never thought I'd get in, thus me not telling anyone. I had actually forgotten about the application! Shocked.
-Will be withdrawing from more schools in the next few days.
(I'm not one to make rash decisions!)

2/19/07
-Received email confirmation from Penn about my spot on the WL. I don't know how long I'll stay on--I'm mainly worried about the possibility that I'd get in, and Penn would have no money left to give me for need based aid. Plus, the CLS admit makes me less upset about the wl lol.

2/23/07
-Withdrew from GW...no need to be potentially accepted just to w/d later. Good luck to those still waiting! Since I withdrew, I'm going to hide this app...I supposed I'll put it back later when all is said and done.

2/28/07
-Ok so I received my official Fordham acceptance (and per the status checker update today, I really am accecpted despite my email w/d). In, with $

3/1/07
-So I decided to check my email just now (9:27pm) and found an email from WUSTL. Scholars in Law Award--$$$

3/5/07
-Awarded a Dean's Scholarship from Vanderbilt!!! Plus, guranteed need based money for all 3 years. $$

3/14/07
-After 4+ months of waiting, I am finally at decision at GULC. Despite the luck I've had with UVa, Mich, and CLS, I have a strong suspicion that my decision is either a WL or Ding. It wouldn't hurt me too much, but I'd rather not get rejected again--it hurts too much.

3/15/07
-I'm at UVa now, so mom told me that i'm on the preferred wl for GULC. Obviously, I'm withdrawing. :-/

3/19/07
-mailing my ND withdrawal tomorrow....great school and the attention they have shown me and other admits has been great!. It's just not the school for me. Good luck to those trying to get in!

3/27/07
-WUSTL sent out a mass email to $$ recipients asking them whether they were going to accept it and if not to let them know. So, I just withdrew in my emailed reply. Great school though. Hopefully someone who is definitely going to WUSTL gets the $$.

3/30/07
-Went to CLS. Visit details in other section.
-Wondering what the hell is up with Duke? I expect a wl or ding at this point...after hearing reviews from others on LSD, I would have loved to get the opportunity to visit the school, but I guess I won't.
***************************************
-Got my UVa award :-)

4/4/07
-waitlisted at Duke. Not staying on. Cycle is over.
-withdrew from Vandy. It hurts.

4/5/07
-IN @ CHICAGO!!!!!!!!!! (this was my other hidden app, lol). Got call from Ann Perry a little after 5pm. Deferred after the 2/2 admit batch. I wrote the optional essay about parental responsibility for willful property damage committed by their children. I'm buggin out! Now my cycle is REALLY over!!
-Got $ from CLS. Decent amount.

4/8/07
-So I'll be going to Chi's ASW this weekend. It is now a battle to the death between Columbia and University of Chicago. I'm still leaning towards CLS, but this ASW at Chi could change EVERYTHING. We'll see.

4/9/07
-Received Chicago admit package. Excellent materials including binder, course catalog, graduate school info, etc. $ included :-)

4/10/07
-Fordham is out...and then there were 4

4/12/07
-Heading to Chicago tomorrow to visit UofChicago...hope my flight isn't cancelled because of the weather :-/

4/15/07
-Had a wonderful time at UofChi (remarks to the left)
-Will be withdrawing from Mich and UVa in the next couple of days.

4/22/07
-So my gut keeps telling me CLS so that's where I'll be in the fall!

4/23/07
-Paid $500 deposit for CLS online...it's official!
-Withdrew from the Penn waitlist...it's crazy how they were my #1 going in, mainly bc I never thought I'd get better than that, and they waitlisted me while I got into CLS and Chi. Admissions are crazy.

4/30/07
-Withdrew from Chicago--that was a tough one. So only CLS is in play and that's wehre I'll be and I'm very happy about that!! Good luck to those still waiting and to future applicants!

They took a long time on my report too . . . but, should they hold true to form, eventually you'll probably get some sort of e-mail notification from the university. I think it took over a week for me. I wouldn't worry overmuch :).

Good Luck!
Friday, April 21 2006 at 08:00 PM

Good luck with all of your applications! I'm sure you're relieved that they are all out, now you just have to sit back and wait for the acceptances to roll in!

Wednesday, November 08 2006 at 07:00 PM

Just for your info Penn will e-mail you when you go complete. It took another week and a half after I cashed my check for them to do so. They are just really slow. Good luck with all your apps

Duke
Wednesday, November 08 2006 at 07:00 PM

I found out I went complete at Duke through e-mail. It took over a month after I submitted my aplication. I don't know what took so long. But I am not really sure what my first choice is. I'm just waiting to see what will happen. Good luck with all your apps (and hopefully you'll get some good scholarship offers).

Thanks!
Tuesday, October 03 2006 at 08:00 PM

I plan on submitting by next week, but thanks for the encouragement! And I completely understand you about the additional essays/PS...grrrr :-)

Thank you
Friday, June 30 2006 at 08:00 PM

Thanks a lot for the encouragement. My only shortcoming right now is that my files wont be complete anywhere (except the two EA schools) for a couple weeks. I wish you the best of luck as well... keep me posted.

on another note
Friday, June 30 2006 at 08:00 PM

Pardon the ignorance but what is the Hamilton/which C school is CLS? As for Harvard I don't think I have much of a chance...someone just convinced me to apply to at least one of Harvard or Yale.

Thanks again
Friday, June 30 2006 at 08:00 PM

Will do...thanks so much for the advice....my only concern at this point is the lateness of my completed files (won't be for another week or two). On your end, what are your first choices?

good luck
Friday, June 30 2006 at 08:00 PM

Thanks so much again for the encouragement. You sound like you've done your homework and obviously have the URM/early app edge on a lot of applications so I'm sure you know to not entirely take your numbers at face value (whatever they may be). I'd say either Gtown, Columbia, Northwestern, Chicago or Mich are my top. Best of luck to you and plz do keep me posted.

GW
Monday, June 12 2006 at 08:00 PM

How did you find out you were complete at GW? Thanks :)

Fordham
Saturday, January 21 2006 at 07:00 PM

Thanks. I'm very excited as its my first acceptance. I hope you hear good news from them soon too.

ND
Thursday, June 29 2006 at 08:00 PM

The date of my complete is the day I got the email that said if you are incomplete you will be notified within 3 weeks. Today makes 3 weeks, so I guess I'm complete. That is my rationale.

Hey
Sunday, May 14 2006 at 08:00 PM

Just checking in with you to see how your cycle is coming along . . .

hello
Monday, October 23 2006 at 08:00 PM

Boalt? My GPA may be good, but my LSAT score isn't much for Boalt. Plus I like the east coast :) Good luck to you!

Thanks
Thursday, July 06 2006 at 08:00 PM

Good luck with your applications :-)

Thanks!
Sunday, May 14 2006 at 08:00 PM

Yep, in just a few short months we could be tearin' it up Ann Arbor style . . . whatever that is. :) Michigan definitely just keeps growing on me though, that's certain. It would be the shocker of the year for me if Columbia accepts me and I go to Michigan anyway, but it's becoming a scenario I have to consider. And, I guess the Stanford thing really was more weird than insulting - it just seemed so random.

Any day now.
Sunday, May 14 2006 at 08:00 PM

I'm sure you'll start hearing great news soon . . . hang in there!

Agree
Wednesday, November 08 2006 at 07:00 PM

I feel you on the getting nervous about not hearing anything. It makes me wish I had a 175 so I can sit back and just chill. But it's still early...I know that you have some good acceptances coming.

UVA
Tuesday, October 24 2006 at 08:00 PM

Thanks for the congrats! Once I visited UVA I knew it was the perfect fit for me so I figured going ED would increase my chances of being accepted

Good Luck!
Friday, September 29 2006 at 08:00 PM

Thanks for the kind words, good luck with all your apps :)

Congrats!!!
Sunday, May 14 2006 at 08:00 PM

Yay for you! Now the great news can just keep rolling in . . . I'll keep my fingers crossed for some tough decisions for ya :)! ASW won't know what hit 'em.

Congrats
Friday, June 30 2006 at 08:00 PM

Congrats on the Mich acceptance! I received the complete email about a week ago so hopefully I'll hear from them soon too. I'm sure the acceptances will continue rolling in over break. Good luck!

Very well
Friday, June 30 2006 at 08:00 PM

I'll play your game kiki...applying to at least two of em tomorrow..might be too late in the game by now but I decided to give it a shot anyway

Umm...
Wednesday, August 31 2005 at 08:00 PM

That's a good question and I've been asking myself the same thing lately. I probably could have gotten into some great schools. But, honestly Fordham was my first choice and I didn't really strongly consider any other school. I just threw some safeties in there and prayed. But I'm really happy with how it turned out. Oooh and I think I know who you are from LSD. I'll keep checking back to see if I'm right =)

thanks for the help
Wednesday, April 26 2006 at 08:00 PM

I hope to see you there! it\'s a great school.. btw, thanks for telling me to change my cycle. for some reason, i thought they updated it automatically.

Thanks so much!

Thanks girl! I'll almost certainly be there. I was looking at flights just now. In fact, I might even bring the bf. It's at the end of his spring break. Also, congrats on WUSTL!

Thanks!
Tuesday, October 03 2006 at 08:00 PM

It really takes a load off my mind... I can actually sign that I won't renew my contract here in Japan and really start looking toward coming home! Congrats on ND and the continued acceptances as well :-)

Wednesday, July 12 2006 at 08:00 PM

I found you Ms. Celies! I'm really rooting for you. You humble genius you. This was especially evident while waiting for Michigan. You knew you were in... but acted so cute and petrified along the way. Guess you're headed there for sure since it's your #1? Oh but p.s. Don't get all haughty tho. No one likes a know-it-all. *Wink.

Don't even worry about them! you already have great acceptances and I'm sure more will come your way!

Re: W&L
Sunday, December 24 2006 at 07:00 PM

They are in the lead right now, but in the back of my head I have hope that one of my top schools i applied to will accept me. I'm just on edge waiting for decisions, I can't committ to any school yet. I am so grateful to have options at this point, but still wanting to get into that top top school! Everytime i think of being rejected from all 8 of the top 15 school i applied to I have near heart attacks. Are you leaning towards Michigan?

Eh, Penn
Saturday, September 30 2006 at 08:00 PM

They'll come begging you in May, and by then you'll be completely swept up in how beautiful Ann Arbor is. Congrats on the really great acceptances you have! I'm sure there are more to come.

Don't give up on Penn, you never know what will happen...keep the faith. And you still have UVA to look forward to and a ton of GREAT acceptances under your belt. You are crankin' it out this cycle and I'm eagerly anticipating your upcoming decisions!

Uh, no... they're nto rejecting you after you send them a glowing schmooze-fest letter of continued interest and they see the light! I'll be praying for ya!

Penn

Girl I'm sorry I know you really wanted to go there... I will pray for you! And its not over yet! you could still get in! ... dont sweat it you have awesome acceptances!

Yeh I'm seriously considering it, it's not a full ride but very very close to one. I could afford to pay that much without taking loans I think. It's really in the running. I just need to research alumni and the career center, visit the school etc.. But I'm still waiting on so many schools. I can only afford to visit so many. I really hope they hurry up and decide haha Mich is such a great school! I would be happy to get in there! :) Don't worry about Penn, I'm sure they'll be knocking down your door begging you to go there eventually.

sorry

Thanks!

Congratulations!!
Wednesday, November 15 2006 at 07:00 PM

Congrats! Man, UVA's amazing. That's great! I have to ask, though. Why no HYS? I mean, you're kinda on a roll, you know? Regardless, AWESOME!! Congrats!

Congrats

Friday, March 10 2006 at 07:00 PM

for your comments. :) I'm not sure what i'm going to do. I don't think I want to live in Atlanta - location is important to me which is why I didn't apply to some of the schools u mentioned. If I don't get into NU, then i'll have some thinking to do....good luck to you! have u made a decision?

hi again!
Friday, March 10 2006 at 07:00 PM

well, my whole mentality going into this cycle was, if I do not get into a T14, then i'm just going to go to IU. My family, friends, and boyfriend are all here, and the only way I would move away from all of that is if i got into a T14. So that's why I'm really hoping for NU - the location is perfect (I live in indianapolis, so it's only like a 3 hour drive). But what about you?? you've got some VERY NICE acceptances..... Here's hoping I do get into NU b/c i really don't want to sit out another year. But i am definitely willing to do it if I must....I know I can get a higher lsat score....

Congrats to you too!
Monday, October 30 2006 at 07:00 PM

Kiki, Thanks for the kind words. You seem to be in pretty good shape yourself! I'm getting pretty restless... I haven't seen a decision in almost 2 months!

Thanks!
Friday, June 30 2006 at 08:00 PM

Yea I suppose I was a bit worried... I think CLS is gonna be it (although now I have to think about how on earth I can afford it). Your encouragement early on def boosted my confidence.... Congrats on your acceptances as well-- awesome to see that you got into some of your top picks!

CLS - wow! That's fantastic! I have 2 friends that graduated from there and loved it, so you'd be in great company from what I hear. UPenn who? LOL J/K - they're going to come around too!

I don't have facebook sorry :( Can't wait to hang out with you and all the other admitted folks. Should be a definite good time. I know all the good hot spots so I'd be happy to be your personal tour guide ;)

Thanks
Wednesday, November 08 2006 at 07:00 PM

For your post. You have had a great cycle. Congrats on all your success.

It's difficult to say.
Wednesday, October 18 2006 at 08:00 PM

And I'm in the unfortunate position of not being able to visit schools. Chicago and UVA were dream schools of mine entering the cycle. I'm hoping that more schools flip me a dime. You? CLS?

Look who's talking =)
Thursday, October 26 2006 at 08:00 PM

I just wanted to say congrats to you as well on your great cycle so far. May you have as tough a time making a decision as I am! Good Luck.

Good luck.
Wednesday, October 18 2006 at 08:00 PM

You're in an enviable position. May I ask what kind of law you're interested in? I'm currently working abroad through August.

Thanks!
Sunday, December 24 2006 at 07:00 PM

I have never been so nervous to go to my mailbox! I am sooo hoping for good news!!! My roommate just decided to go to med school there! .. The suspense is killing me!

Um...
Friday, December 15 2006 at 07:00 PM

I'm not quite sure I'll be going. It all depends on $. If I were to go, it would be the second one. But, yeah... I'm out on the west coast, so airfare will be pretty high.

2nd one.
Friday, December 15 2006 at 07:00 PM

Hm... spoke too soon, I guess. Seeing as I've located the $, I'll be attending the 2nd one, March 22-24. It would be awesome to see you there!

Gov't work
Wednesday, October 18 2006 at 08:00 PM

I like the flexibility, the benefits, and the cases. Also, my father is ex-military, and so my family thinks highly of government service. However, I'm working in a foreign government right now, and the bureaucracy is maddening!! I imagine I'll change my mind a couple of times before law school's all said and done, but I've worked in various sectors before, and I'm most inspired by public and government service.

waitlist
Sunday, December 24 2006 at 07:00 PM

I got waitlisted at Gtown... pref waitlist? ... you seem to know a lot about the process.. honestly does it seem like any of the top schools will actually accept me? cause im getting tired of the process and ready to just pick out of what I have and teach myself to be happy with it.

GULC
Tuesday, December 19 2006 at 07:00 PM

strange they are taking so long to get back to you... they were my quickest response.

HU
Sunday, December 24 2006 at 07:00 PM

I researched all the schools that accepted me so far and it came out the weakest. I think I would be better off somewhere else. I'm leaning toward W&L, Emory, or Fordham.

w/draw
Sunday, December 24 2006 at 07:00 PM

I didn't actually withdraw yet though... I may not.. I just wanted to mark them because I'm not really considering either or those schools anymore.. But Im waiting for financial aide... if Howard were to give me enough grants to cover all costs I would maybe consider it. good luck with your last 2 apps!!! :) You've had such a great cycle!

ND
Wednesday, August 16 2006 at 08:00 PM

Congratulations on the scholarship. You must have be a great candidate. I have always thought very highly of Wash. U. of St. L. You have so many great options (a few T14s to begin with), which is your top choice?

Michigan
Sunday, February 11 2007 at 07:00 PM

You know you love us!

Thanks
Monday, October 30 2006 at 07:00 PM

for the encouragement. And congrats on CLS and all your shiny new acceptances! I love CLS, might even pick them over Harvard. But they have to let me in, darnit!

Thanks dood
Wednesday, August 30 2006 at 08:00 PM

Also, I got an e-mail from SEO the day before yesterday to schedule an IN PERSON INTERVIEW! Gahhhhhhhh! I'm so scared, though I don't think I have a chance since they seem to only take T14 (hell, maybe even only T6) students, so I'm just going to have fun with it.

Belated congrats on Columbia!
Monday, May 01 2006 at 08:00 PM

That's awesome news, MCB! So now, what school will you choose?

Tuesday, January 09 2007 at 07:00 PM

Any reason you didn't apply to the big three, HYS?

...
Tuesday, January 02 2007 at 07:00 PM

I haven't gotten any word about aid yet, but I hope I get a nice offer. I didn't go to the CLS ASW yet, I'm going to the 2nd one. Are you leaning towards any school right now? How do you like Mich?

Congrats
Thursday, September 21 2006 at 08:00 PM

I just ran across ya profile on LSD and after seeing your schools and your status, I had to tell you congrats and to continue doing your thing. Point of advice Do NOT go to M!ch!g@n!!! Lol, naw I'm just playing. As an Ohio State alum, I was just being funny. But again congrats on your process, I hope the best for you and wish you well in your future endeavors!

So, how was it at Michigan? Love it? I think I'm already in love... I've been checking out every single little thing on their website for weeks now. I'm such a nerd :P

Hey
Wednesday, November 08 2006 at 07:00 PM

I actually recently just turned 21...LOL i know still young. Anyway I know it wasn't just my age. I was just thinking that in combination with many other things probably had a different effect than I expected. But I'm not quite sure what I'm going to do yet. But law school during 1L is def not the place to be deciding whether or not you want to be there. I know that much. Have you decided where you are going to attend yet?

Your profile rocks. I especially like the bit about your ASWs. I was just in Michigan to view the campus and visit friends (psych phds). I loved the interaction the phd kids have, and they even hung out with the attorneys. Very interesting place. You'll be fine wherever you go, as you clearly are thinking about everything in the right way.

Hey girl!
Sunday, December 24 2006 at 07:00 PM

How's your decision process going? All the sudden I stopped moping around and I'm excited I have options with $$ lol.. But I'm still hoping for last minute surprises.

Sorry I stole your pen. Remind me to get you a new one next time we meet. Anyway, NYU was actually real cool too. Its gonna be a tough decision but I'm still leaning CLS. Did you apply to SEO? Anyway, Get at me sometime if you wanna talk about law skool.

Congrats!

congrats on Chicago. The plot thickens... LOL. Hey, how did CLS notify you of your fin aid offer. They still ain't got at me.

Chicago
Saturday, September 30 2006 at 08:00 PM

Congrats again on these amazing choices. So many T14's to choose from! Hope you love Chicago and they shower you with money.

Ah, in that case
Saturday, September 30 2006 at 08:00 PM

I hope you hate Chicago and they not only don't give you any money, but raise the tuition just for you. Seriously, I don't think you can go wrong with either of those schools.

Thanks!
Sunday, December 24 2006 at 07:00 PM

Are you leaning toward Columbia over Chicago at this point? I think my acceptance should probably seal the deal for you ;) CLS '10 woot!
