I have spent the last 4 years working for a national nonprofit organization as public policy lobbyist. Successfully passed over a dozen legislative proposals at the state level. Experience includes serving as Acting State Director.

I have extensive background in public policy, advocacy, and criminal justice system reform with a proven record of passing legislation and promoting community involvement. Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with an ability to motivate staff and promote coalition building. Communication skills develop rapport with individuals from various educational, socio-economic, and cultural backgrounds.

Random Thoughts for your Consideration:
3/8 - I'm getting nervous that I haven't heard from ANY schools. I know I applied "late" but I thought maybe I would have at least heard from one school? Any suggestions? Should I contact schools?

3/8 - Okay, so of course right after I wrote that I got an acceptance letter for Capital in the mail! Trustees' Merit Scholarship of $12,000/year. My confidence is a little higher now =)

3/12 - Accepted into Vermont via email; Status checker went from "file complete" yesterday to "You have been admitted" today; packet with more information coming via snail mail - I wonder if it will have scholarship information?

3/22 - My first rejection. Kinda stings. Villanova went "in review" on 3/15, then updated on 3/17. Application status checker changed to "Application Denied" on 3/22. Oh well...

3/23 - I called Vermont Law and apparently they are still putting together scholarship packets...I still have a shot!

3/26 - BIG DAY! Vermont Fin Aid package came and it is reasonable! BUT I ALSO GOT ACCEPTED INTO MY DREAM SCHOOL - NORTHEASTERN! I'm still in shock. Unbelievable.

4/7 - Accepted via email into Rutgers-Newark! Application Status Checker changed to "Decision Rendered." The email said the official letter would be mailed out this week.

Northeastern is still my #1 pick!! =)

4/12 - Rejected at OSU. OSU was probably the only remaining school that could beat Northeastern so NOW my prospects are even BETTER at attending NUSL. SO EXCITED!!! Boston!!

4/12 - Rejection letter from NYU came in the mail.

4/15 - I mailed in my deposit to Northeastern - I'm definitely attending - so excited!!

4/26 - Accepted at Franklin Pierce! Feels good to get another acceptance even though I won't be going there. I'll be withdrawing from other schools this week.

4/29 - Accepted at IU-Indianapolis! This was one of my top picks but after finding out so late in the game I'm already totally committed to Northeastern. I'm bummed it took this long, but I know Northeastern is the right place for me.

5/26 - Accepted at IU-BLOOMINGTON via email!! WTF! This was completely out of the blue. Tier 1! Wow!

5/28 - Rejected at Brooklyn Law via mail. Whatevas.

My cycle is finally OVER!!

Hey there! Unfortunately, I haven't heard back from any of those schools yet. I e-mailed Rutgers and they said they will try to notify me by April 1st and it looks like Northeastern won't be getting back to me until April 15th. I'm hoping I hear from them soon. Best of luck to you!

Congrats on Northeastern! I was deferred from Early Action, and just saw that my decision letter was mailed on April 1st. How long did it take your letter to arrive, and was it just a small acceptance letter, or an admissions packet? Thanks for the info! Good luck with the rest of your cycle.
