Additional info & updates

Relocating is not an option, which is why I am applying only to the two law schools in Colorado. I'm married with three kids, grades 1, 3, and 6 (Fall 2010). I'll be 34 years old when I enter law school in the fall.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

3/4/10 - Received acceptance letter from DU. This is my first choice school, so I am very happy about it. No word about a scholarship, though. That has me worried; tuition is over $35K/year.

3/16/10 - Received waitlist letter from CU. I pretty much expected this. I sent in the postcard to keep me on their waitlist as a backup measure. CU is a minimum 1 hour, 20 minute drive from my house in rush hour, which is why I prefer DU, which is more like 45 minutes in rush hour--and LightRail is available.

3/19/10 - I got an email from DU saying I was awarded a $17,000 scholarship! (Renewable every year with a 3.0 GPA) I had just called the school to ask about it. I'm very happy about this scholarship--I'm going to law school!

Hi! I received my scholarship info in a separate e-mail. I believe it was the same day-- but I wouldn't get too caught up on that-- they might be on a different schedule now than they were a month ago. :-) Good luck!

Thanks for your input, guys. It looks like I didn't get the scholarship. :-( I'm going to call and see what my options are (e.g., if a deferment would help). Good luck in law school!

congrats on the scholly to DU. I am also planning on attending there and will be at the ASD coming up in a couple of weeks. I am looking to start building my DU network...a little worried about heading back to school after so long, looks like you are in the same situation...again congrats and hope to meet you this fall.

Thanks, thinkinoutloud! I'm pretty excited. I'll be at the ASD too, so I'm sure I'll see you there. We'll have to form an old folks' club. ;-) And I think anyone who ISN'T nervous is crazy.
