Additional info & updates

4/13 Decided to attend CLS.

2/21 Received $21K from Chicago ($7K a year). I want to go into government law though, so Chicago's subpar LRAP (compared to NYU/CLS) is a bit of a drawback. Still, it was very nice to get a scholly from a T6 school!

2/11 Found out via status checker that I was waitlisted at Virginia (they said they sent an e-mail on 2/9, but I never received one). Cycle over! The end of the cycle is the bummer part, when the WLs/Rejections roll in, but overall I'm happy with how everything went.

2/8 Rejected at Stanford and Michigan. Since I didn't ED to Virginia and am out-of-state, I don't expect to get in, so my cycle is pretty much over!

2/4 Rejected at Berkeley; not surprised (given my GPA). Going to Columbia and NYU ASWs soon!

1/25 In at Columbia!!! This was unexpected... but I'm not complaining!

1/10 Waitlisted at Penn, in at Chicago via phone call. My cycle has gone pretty darn well so far! I expect rejections/waitlist invites from Stanford, Columbia, Berkeley, and Virgina. Michigan is 50/50.

12/23 In at Indiana-Bloomington, with $120K. Nice hand-written note from the dean!

12/17 In at Northwestern!

12/11 In at NYU!

11/28 In at Georgetown, via mail. I'm going to law school! Decided to apply to Michigan, too. Going to nix Cornell, now that I'm into Georgetown (would rather be in D.C. than upstate NY).

11/4 All apps except for Cornell done (Cornell will have to wait; need an extra LoR, so hopefully that will be submitted in a month or two), and about half of the schools list my materials as complete. Now the waiting begins...

10/27 Sent in the bulk of my applications today. Penn, Cornell and Berkeley all require extra essays/forms that I haven't finished yet, so those might have to wait for another week. Fingers crossed!

Good luck with all your apps! Hopefully we'll both be at Columbia next year though I wish you the best with your Stanford app!

Not sure! I was a little surprised, to say the least. They must have not liked my "Why Michigan?" essay. I also only did one of the optional essays, instead of two. I'd love to be able to call YP but plenty of people with better numbers got in. Lesson: for U.Mich, do two optional essays, and work extra hard on them.
