If you had your choice among STCL, TexWes, and St Mary's, which would you choose?

It took St Mary's almost exactly three months to let me know I was admitted. I applied in early Oct and would have applied way back in Jun or Jul if I didn't think my app would have gotten lost. Your acceptace to St Mary's will probably come earlier than three months. If fact any day now you'll probably get the acceptance letter.

tjoe1228, I also live in the Hou area and am married but as strange as it may seem, I'm hoping to get into TexWes--if they finalize their merger with TAMU, I'll get free tuition. So I hope to commute to DFW for the week days starting this Fall and come back to Hou on weekends. If neither STCL nor TexWes accepts me, I'll commute to San Antonio in the same way as I would have for TexWes.

I applied for the FT program at Marquette. I'm sure my "Why Marquette" essay helped towards admissions coming from the Southern States. If it helps LSP had me as an outright Deny. Throw a few applications to higher ranking schools...all law schools are hurting for bodies outside the T25.

Accepted via status checker at Mississippi College. No word on any $$$. The lady at admissions said I should be receiving admission letter in the mail in the next few days.

For St Mary's my app went "complete" right in the middle of Oct and I got my acceptance letter, via snail mail, in mid-Jan. I don't think there is a standard time period to wait though. I think it is a rolling admission thing so let's say a guy/gal who is a shoe in at the PT program at STCL decided to go to another school PT (unexpected acceptance; better package; whatever reason), and so STCL wanted to offer me admission--just hypothetically. At that point, I'd probably withdraw from St Mary's and look to accept STCL, unless UH or TSU offered me admission. My withdrawal would give a spot to someone else on their list. In short, there are two factors that I can see impact this thing. First, a Jan app is an app that is evaluated once the rolling has already begun. Second, high formula students sometimes take long to evaluate their options and either don't withdraw prior to the Apr 1 deadline or withdraw well into Mar, causing lower formula students, like me, to have to wait more. All in all, you'll probably get accepted into STCL. Just make up your mind to be ready to wait until late Spring or Summer. I know that's not much help but the wait really sucks for me too.

2/3/13 Accepted into UALR! Got acceptance email during the during the Super Bowl! I thought it was really random to get it on a Sunday night! No word on any kind of scholarship money yet.

2/4/13 Status check at St. Mary's said "complete" and that a decision is mailed. Also, received envelope from Mississippi College today containing official acceptance letter with hand written note from dean and contained a scholarship offer of 16,000 per year contingent on being in top one-half of class.

What do you mean you were accepted via status checker? I don't see where I'm supposed to look for acceptance letter mailed or anything like that on the lsac website?

2/5/13 Accepted to Oklahoma City via status checker. That makes for 6/6 on decisions with one wait list out of state. Would be more than happy going 1/4 on Texas Schools so I can stay in state.

2/6/13 Admitted to St. Mary's! Conveniently, my wife is at a conference in San Antonio and I got to go with her and visit school and speak to financial aid and advisor! This is my second choice behind South Texas College of Law!

Wow, If they offer me a scholarship like that, I don't know if I could pass it up. Is it 10k/year? I'm anxious to see if you get into TexWes, cause that's one I'm interested in. Good luck!

Yeah, my app status checker has said 4-6 weeks since mid-Oct for TexWes...just stayin' patient and hoping for the best. Maybe for me they meant to say 4-6 months...just kidding, mostly. It would be nice to hear something positive before Apr 1st.

Yeah, TexWes has had the 4-6 weeks on my status checker since mid-Oct. I'm just tryin' to stay patient. BTW, we're waiting on the same three schools...me leaning more toward TexWes or TSU and you probably STCL. Best of luck.

Congratulation on TexWes! That's fantastic. Thanks for offering to withdraw too--that's no small gesture as you're a PT applicant like me. What's exciting for you about this is that if you're in at TexWes, you're quite likely to get in at STCL too...the numbers they admit under are quite similar historically. I think it is just matter of not more than a few weeks and STCL will admit you.

Just spoke with admission's office at South Texas and they said decisions are going out now until the end of April! I hope to receive mine sooner rather than later as it is my first choice and seat deposits for St. Mary's are due in a month!

Good data, tjoe1228. I suppose I was ready to wait until late Summer but it doesn't sound like it will take that long for South Texas. I'm hoping for the same direction from TexWes as I'm also up against the Apr 1 deposit deadline at St Mary's.

Stay strong, tjoe1228, you'll get accepted to STCL...remember they're one of only a few schools in the country that offer Spring admission too so don't lose hope. Your scores are right there for them. Also, thanks for the quick hit of understanding.

Still waiting on STCL. I am going to an open house at Tex Wes this weekend in the instance I don't get in to STCL. Looking forward to it, but it would be nice to save the money for the Seat deposit at Tex Wes if I'm admitted to STCL. Hopefully, I'll get word before April 1! Not holding my breathe though!

Thanks tjoe1228. I think you'll get into STCL. Just give it a few weeks and let them process the Apr 1st openings. I hear as long as you're above 150 on the LSAT and don't have too many dings, they tend to accept. I wish I hadn't have paid my St Mary's deposit now. If for some reason you don't get into STCL, which I don't anticipate, I'll be looking for you at TexWes. Continued best of luck to you.

I read on Tigers75 page that you were waiting for STCL. That's my number one choice but I'm still under 150. I'm hoping the CLEO program will help get me in since I've talked to the dean of admissions. Did you go to the open house?

Paid my seat deposit for Texas Wesleyan today. I would be delighted to find out I wasted the $200 and I am accepted to South Texas College of law. Although, I would be happy to attend Tex-Wes also. Time will tell!

Within a month I think you'll get a good word from South Texas.

Accepted at Texas Southern today via snail mail and email. Sure hope South Texas follows suit and accepts me!

Do you remember when it was, what date, TSU gave you until to put down your deposit/accept the acceptance? May 1st maybe or maybe mid-May? Just trying to get a sense to try to figure out when a next round of letters might go out, when some folks intentionally don't meet the deadline.
