I got the "you may be good enough to admit later, but not yet" e-mails from Harvard, Penn, & and letter saying as much from Columbia. The Columbia one said that the decision wouldn't be until mid-May, Harvard and Penn said mid-April. They're not really deferrals, but i marked that just to let people know that I did hear something. Those are all better than rejections so I'm not too bummed about it, but like I originally thought, it looks like I'll have to wait until the end before I get news one way or the other from most of the schools. I just hope it's not too much longer until I get at least one acceptance so I know I can go somewhere. This is so stressful, I don't know how people do this more than one cycle.

02-29: Finally got my first acceptance from Texas!!!!! It came in a large envelope marked admission materials. This takes a little bit of the stress off. Hopefully there's more good news to follow!!

03-05: Wait list e-mail from Penn.

03-06: Received a scholarship offer in the mail from Texas. $10,000 per year. Pretty good considering I should be able to get residency. This means Texas is almost definitely going to be the most affordable at around $12K per year.

03-14: Waitlist at Michigan via e-mail. I'm not completely suprised at this one since I applied so late, but it still stinks.

04-27: In at UCLA, WL at Harvard

I heard from Cal via snail mail, got a call from UCLA, followed by an e-mail, then package arrived today. Congrats on Te-has, I'm sure there is more good news on the way for you.

hey- i actually hadn't heard a thing since going complete in nov and did not contact them at all (besides calling the admissions office to make sure they were still actually making decisions!) best of luck.
