*Excuse my username. It was from last year when I pretty much only applied to UCLA.*

[Scholarship amounts are over a 3 year period]

*12/13/07 Deferred at Fordham

I want to end up practicing in the LA area. Would it be wise to pick Loyola/Pepperdine over Hastings?

*2/15/08 - I just withdrew from being considered for Loyola's evening program.*

hi :)

I actually never even checked the status checker... I lost the letter they sent me with my password. :P GL on your UCLA WL... I'm super jealous. Still waiting to hear from them.

hello
Sunday, July 01 2007 at 08:00 PM

same as zaii, I also didn't look at the status checker as I've had hit and miss internet for the past month. I really hope that waitlist turns accepted for you though... all this waiting is nerve-racking. Good luck!

not really able to answer your q about online status - I never checked, I think they wanted me to input some student id, which I never bothered to look up.

status checker
Friday, September 14 2007 at 08:00 PM

I got a letter, and when I checked my status, it told me I was admitted and that I would receive a letter any day.

USD
Friday, September 14 2007 at 08:00 PM

I see you got USD acceptance. I haven't gotten mine yet. I got Loyola, what the heck is going on! I sent all my apps out late november/early december from LSAC, though.

I won't hold being a Bruin agianst you :) My statuts checker did not change. I was accepted via snail mail. Good luck with you cycle!

Re: Loyola
Friday, October 19 2007 at 08:00 PM

yes, the status checker updated to complete saying the decision was in the mail well before it actually came. However it took them a LONG time to go complete for me.

I actually didnt know there was a status checker for loyola.. Received the news through snail mail. Good luck :)

Hey
Monday, November 26 2007 at 07:00 PM

looks like we are applying to a few of the same schools. Good luck with everything!

top choice
Monday, November 26 2007 at 07:00 PM

which school is your top choice?

stupid question
Monday, November 26 2007 at 07:00 PM

or was that a stupid question (as evident from your username)?

choice
Monday, November 26 2007 at 07:00 PM

funny that you say that. I too know that UCLA and USC are reaches, but I would love to attend Loyola. Hopefully I have a few choices to pick from. California dreaming for me, but I have no qualms with staying in NYC for law school either. Good luck with everything

Loyola
Monday, November 26 2007 at 07:00 PM

has Loyola update your application status yet to complete? I'm three weeks in now and their application status checker has not changed. nerve-wracking indeed!

Don't worry about it
Monday, November 26 2007 at 07:00 PM

I don't think you are being paranoid, anyone can go batty waiting for their decisions to come in! Sleep would be good (especially since you wrote on my profile at 4AM!) At least you have been accepted somewhere already! Good l uck with everything else, and try not to worry as much.

Acceptance
Monday, November 26 2007 at 07:00 PM

I am confident that you will be accepted to Loyola fairly soon (and UCLA for that matter). Hopefully we will be attending a school together in the fall!

Waiting game
Monday, November 26 2007 at 07:00 PM

the waiting game is killing me, but I should be getting some decisions within the next few weeks. I'm surprised that you haven't received all of your decisions yet. That is a bit weird, but I think that you will be fine.

LOYOLA
Sunday, March 19 2006 at 07:00 PM

thanks, I submitted to loyola on 11/30 and it was complete 12/19. Im sure you'll get in with your numbers.. good luck

Hey
Monday, November 26 2007 at 07:00 PM

you and I both are waiting to hear back from Loyola. I have only received one decision so far, and I have passed the seven-week mark since I submitted the applications. I just hope that the decisions won't take much longer. Congrats on your Cali acceptances. I'm still rooting for the possibility that we will be attending the same law school in the fall.

loyola
Monday, November 26 2007 at 07:00 PM

I suggest that you call Loyola however because it has been a pretty long time.

loyola
Monday, November 26 2007 at 07:00 PM

Just wait it out for another week or two, and if they don't respond by then you should contact them.

rejected on valentine's day

just got my first rejection from George Mason.

just got my first rejection from George Mason.

PT
Monday, November 26 2007 at 07:00 PM

part-time is really unappealing, especially since you have already been accepted to three good schools. I'm sure that with your score you will be accepted full-time. You're right about the first rejection. it stung a bit (and on Valentine's day - how bout them apples!) I can't believe that I only have two decisions under my belt - the wait is nerve wracking!

LA or NYC
Monday, November 26 2007 at 07:00 PM

I am also ecstatic that it all comes down to LA or NYC. I wasn't to thrilled at the idea of living in Arlington for three years.

TITLE REQUIRED
Monday, November 26 2007 at 07:00 PM

I am feeling quite a bit anxious right now. It has been over 8 weeks since I sent out my applications and I have only received those responses. There is a good possibility that we might be attending the same law school in the fall, or at least in the same city. I applied to Southwestern roughly two weeks ago. You're right about NYLS. It is the law school that I can fall back on. They has been a delay with my financial aid package however which has further raised my blood pressure. I'm hanging in there, but so far law schools are not showing me love. I had thought about Pepperdine (albeit too conservative for my taste) and USD, but I want to practice in Los Angeles. Here's to hoping we attend the same school in the fall, and thank you for your kind words!

sorry
Monday, November 26 2007 at 07:00 PM

for monopolizing your wall

finally
Monday, November 26 2007 at 07:00 PM

I'm glad you finally went to decision. They sure now how to keep people in suspense. I am confident that you're in and with money. Luck is not necessary because you will be fine.

loyola
Monday, November 26 2007 at 07:00 PM

You should definitely be receiving the decision (meaning your acceptance) sometime within the next few days. My application however is still being reviewed by Loyola. Glad to see that you don't mind my monopolizing your wall. Hopefully we will attend the same law school in the fall.

so...
Monday, November 26 2007 at 07:00 PM

decision should be coming any day now for you. Seeing as though you want to practice in the LA area, which of the schools that you have been accepted to are you leaning towards?

CONGRATULATIONS!!!
Monday, November 26 2007 at 07:00 PM

Congratulations on Loyola! I knew you would get in. No word get from the Cali schools which is not good. Ideally, in a perfect world, we would be attending UCLA or USC together. However from the schools left I would most want to attend Loyola or Cardozo in New York City. Southwestern is very appealing, especially if they back it up with a scholarship. So to answer your question, Loyola and Cardozo are the top choices for now, unless by luck I am accepted to UCLA or USC. When is Loyola going to notify you about scholarship info?

TITLE REQUIRED
Monday, November 26 2007 at 07:00 PM

Looks like we have the same goals in mind, and I do hope that they become a reality! As for Loyola, I honestly believe that they will give you more money than Pepperdine. According to U.S. News and World Report, they are the most generous school in terms on financial aid. that spells good things for you!

Here I go
Monday, November 26 2007 at 07:00 PM

monopolizing your wall again. My application at Loyola is still being reviewed. This is rather upsetting.

need access
Monday, November 26 2007 at 07:00 PM

Need Access didn't contact me. I called Access Group because I had submitted everything weeks ago and I had some sort of notice, and the status checker online was blank, so I wanted to make sure everything was fine and the application processed. Wow, that was a run-on sentence. I hope that Loyola doesn't take four months with me either. thanks for all of your kind words.

welcome
Monday, November 26 2007 at 07:00 PM

glad to be of help. If you ever need help with anything, let me know.

loyola
Monday, November 26 2007 at 07:00 PM

congrats on the Loyola scholarship. I was rejected at UCLA, so the only school we have in common now is Loyola. *sigh*

applications
Monday, November 26 2007 at 07:00 PM

now I am starting to think that I should have applied to Pepperdine. I'm having a bad streak with decisions.

california dreaming?
Monday, November 26 2007 at 07:00 PM

you knew exactly what to say to make me feel better (sort of). i'm not getting my hopes up about USC either.

ha
Monday, November 26 2007 at 07:00 PM

it's OK. you can monopolize my wall. I have been monopolizing yours for the past few weeks.

deposits
Monday, November 26 2007 at 07:00 PM

when are deposits due at the schools you've been accepted to?

pepperdine
Monday, November 26 2007 at 07:00 PM

I will probably be applying to Pepperdine tonight for good measure. I am getting nervous seeing as though I haven't heard back from most schools.

$
Monday, November 26 2007 at 07:00 PM

i'm surprised that Pepperdine offered more money than Loyola!

hey
Monday, November 26 2007 at 07:00 PM

so you finally went on your LSN account again. I was started to get worried that you forgot all about us, lol. The mission statement really deterred me. living near Loyola is still cheaper than living in Malibu, so the difference in scholarship isn't that big of a deal, right? I still haven't heard back from Loyola. The worry factor is increasing. Email me if you want to rant about the admissions practice or whatever.

loyola
Monday, November 26 2007 at 07:00 PM

they're still considering my application. Deposits are due 4/11. I really want to attend a law school in Los Angeles. sigh.

in the dark
Monday, November 26 2007 at 07:00 PM

still waiting. I am holding off on visiting schools in LA until I get some more decisions in. I will likely be heading out to LA sometime at the end of April or beginning of May. Are you from the LA area?

thanks
Monday, November 26 2007 at 07:00 PM

it is a very absurd situation with Southwestern that I'm hoping a phone call will fix. I called the financial aid office there today and one of the women working there told me that I should be receiving an award letter sometime in May! That didn't sound right to me so I emailed the financial aid office there. Hopefully someone will get back to me. The deposit is due April 1. They only gave me two weeks to make a decision. I can't put down multiple deposits because that would be unethical, so they are putting me in a bit of a bind. How can I commit to a school if I have no idea what type of financial aid and scholarships I will be receiving? The acceptance at least means that I will be making a visit sometime near the end of April or the start of May. I will definitely email you if I will be in the area. I'm going to wait out the rest of the decisions before deciding if I will move to LA or not. It would be nice if Loyola would go to decision already. The law school process is making me bananas! Sorry to hear that you have been so busy lately. Thanks again for the kind words.

monopolizing
Monday, November 26 2007 at 07:00 PM

there I go monopolizing your wall again... : )

oh yeah
Monday, November 26 2007 at 07:00 PM

glad to see that it's Loyola or bust for you.

hey
Monday, November 26 2007 at 07:00 PM

I miss your monopolizing of my wall. Did you place the deposit with Loyola?

loyola
Monday, November 26 2007 at 07:00 PM

still no word from Loyola. The financial aid situation has yet to be resolved as well. I keep on having to call different people, getting different answer each time. I was told that I am in the top 10% of their admitted students yet I didn't receive an academic scholarship. i was advised to call someone else on monday. thank god my phone plan includes unlimited long distance! if loyola accepts me then I will probably be in law school with you this fall!

USC
Monday, November 26 2007 at 07:00 PM

I have a feeling that we won't hear from them for at least another two weeks. *sigh*

USC
Monday, November 26 2007 at 07:00 PM

they really are taking way too long with you

USC
Monday, November 26 2007 at 07:00 PM

well, it is a lot better than being rejected. I'm confident that you will be accepted by them. I placed a deposit with Southwestern, but I am waiting for Loyola to send some love my way.

Loyola/Pepperdine
Thursday, February 28 2008 at 07:00 PM

I see that you withdrew from Pepperdine. What are your thoughts on choosing Loyola over Pepperdine?

Loyola
Monday, November 26 2007 at 07:00 PM

still no love my way. Do you know of any affordable neighborhoods in LA? looks like I am LA bound. Even if Loyola doesn't show that love, Southwestern did : )

Loyola
Monday, November 26 2007 at 07:00 PM

Received my rejection letter from Loyola today. They didn't even want me part-time. Looks like we won't be classmates in the fall, but I will probably attend Southwestern in the fall. At least we will be in the same city!
