Extra Curricular Information

My softs are pretty weak and are the likely cause of any surprising (based on numbers) waitlists or rejections. I also have a couple pretty bad speeding tickets that I had to report to some schools. They were from before I turned 18 so I really have no idea how they will be viewed... My PS is potentially controversial but I don't think that has had a substantial negative impact.

On that note, if anyone is reading this with plans to apply in the future, make sure you don't waste your spare time. I had a few softs but the most glaring weakness (imo) was a lack of any type of leadership position.

"Additionally, a great GPA and LSAT are no guarantee of admission. Each year we end up with surprised candidates that are shocked when their 3.9 GPA, 178 LSAT does not result in an offer of admission. Again, we want to see people who will be real leaders and change agents in society. We are looking for people who not only have the academic talent, but also have a demonstrated record of impact." -Harvard admissions blog

Additional info & updates

Had priority track for Duke but was asked to interview on campus. Status still says under review. 10/28

12/2 Georgetown requested I interview (I did)
1/6 waitlisted at Georgetown

Held at Harvard 1/13

Accepted at Boston College 1/24

Accepted at USC 1/27

Admitted at SMU 1/31 but I didn't find out till checking status a week later

Held at Northwestern... Interviewed but no why NW essay 2/1

Admitted to WUSTL 2/7

Finally a good scholarship offer! Thanks WUSTL 2/10

Admitted to NYU 2/14 Hopefully my cycle is picking up

4/12 KB1 Email!

4/17 received upgraded scholarship of full tuition plus 5000/yr stipend at Texas. Not sure what to do...

5/4 This will probably be the last time I come on here. I am attending NYU in the fall! Any schools that are listed as pending held me before I withdrew. Every school that accepted me offered me $$ but I got lazy and never included some totals. Good luck to everyone that applies in future cycles.

Okay, so two things, I totally stalked you on here after seeing you tonight. Second DAYUM that's a sexy LSAT score. Duke is very obviously YPing by making you interview. They know you'll have much "better" offers. You are going to have an awesome cycle. Congrats on UT!

Did you have more than one LSAT score?? Even with 'weak softs' getting waitlisted at Georgetown is kind of perplexing.

Nope, that was my only LSAT. I had been more worried about how much money Georgetown was going to offer me than about getting in... I updated my ex info to provide a more complete picture

Your cycle is pretty surprising to me (with very similar numbers). Have you considered taking a year to get some work experience and beef up your resume a bit? It would probably be worth it in the long run if you are looking to get more scholarship money. Your LSAT and GPA will still be just as good next year, and you would have some solid experience :)

I'll either be at Harvard or Columbia. I bet you'll get in to Harvard off of your hold after a while! Good luck on the rest of your cycle, numbers twin :)
