Additional info & updates

I joined this site mainly to give some hope to the folks with extraordinarily poor undergraduate records.

GPA: I was foolish in college and I was concerned only with the subjects that interested me. In short, I made some really good grades that were erased by some really bad grades.

I wish everyone the best with their cycles.

11-12-10: Accepted to Charlotte Law via email. Received a generous scholarship.

2-4-11: Accepted to Liberty via snail mail. Scholarship letter to follow under separate cover. I really like Liberty's mission and their lawyering skills program.

2-28-11: Waitlisted at Elon via email. I visited Elon in January and I liked everything about their program and their facilities. My plan is to do everything I can to get off the waitlist.

3-16-11: Pumped about March Madness. It's big down here in Carolina.

3-26-11: Received a very classy (or possibly condescending) rejection letter from Richmond. I never really had a shot at UR, but I decided to put a line out there. Things might have been different with 2 or 3 more points on the LSAT.

4-18-11: Accepted to Elon via email.

4-29-11: Submitted a scholarship request to Elon and they came back with a substantial award. I cannot say enough nice things about Dean Gaskin at Elon.

5-2-11: Received an email from Dean Benfield at Charleston Law. He asked me if I was still interested in the law school. I indicated, in so many words, that I wanted to receive a decision on my application even though I would probably be going to another school. I'm sure that is a recipe for the waitlist or rejection.

5-10-11: Waitlisted at Charleston Law via snail mail. I will tell my ego that I would have been accepted outright if I had shown Dean Benfield more interest on 5-2-11.
