Extra Curricular Information

I've been working on capitol hill for about a year.

My grades are garbage, bottom 15% of my college. I hope it doesn't keep me out of a decent law school.

Additional info & updates

11/14/07 American is out the door, the saga begins.

11/26/07 Applied to the three George's.

---------------------------------

12-12-07 American wants me, big priority envelope

12-18-07 In at GMU, phone call from the asst. dean.

--------------------------------

Well that's all she wrote for me. I guess I expected a much longer process. With ED I guess I'll never know about the other schools.

--------------------------------

Oops, well I guess now I know everything

1-17-2008 Waitlisted at Georgetown, non-priority, they suggest I put down a deposit somewhere else. Sounds like a nice way to say no to me.

1-18-2008 Into George Washington, e-mail and big packet in the mail.

----------------------------

I wish I hadn't done ED, I could have taken some time to pick between George Mason and George Washington, but I'm super excited about Mason.

on AU & GMU. I'm curious how you heard from GMU. If I stay in the area, that's probably where I'll go. I didn't apply ED though.

I would look to live in Ballston or Clarendon. You should check out the Meridian @ Ballston. (<a href="http://www.meridianballston.com)I" title="www.meridianballston.com)I" class="data">www.meridianballston.com)I</a> know several GMU/GWU law students live there. It's a little pricey but they run a lot of specials in the summer. The building is beautiful. nice gym inside, racquet ball court, pool on the roof, huge club room w/ free wifi. That would be my first choice. I've heard good things about Lincoln Towers as well. My advice would be to check out those two. If you google "Clarendon apartments" or "ballston apartments" a lot of nice places will come up. Hope this helps :)

Just glanced at the meridian website. The prices aren't as expensive as listed. There are many "1 bedrooms" starting in the 1400s. And all one bedrooms come w/ sunrooms that people make into a second bedroom quite easily if you're looking to have a roomate. Go into the leasing office if you're ever in the area. They have a lot of specials that bring the prices down significantly.
