Great cycle for you too!
Its a beautiful place. Congratulations
Thank you! your going to have some tough choices coming. GOODLUCK!
I never got into Stanford haha. Do you mean Chicago? Duke probably picked up on my lack of interest in the school/region.
On what will be a tough decision. I hope it becomes easier with a Stanford acceptance, though!
I am really ready for this whole thing to be over. In my heart I would love to go to Cal, but in my head a deposit is already postmarked to Chicago pending any serious scholly/fin aid offers from other schools lol
I just got the Duke fin aid email a couple days ago, you hear anything yet?
Don't even get me started, the people who talked to me the day after I got in, said explicitly your scholarship is in the mail. Well its 3 months later and .... lol I think I should have the Duke one either today or tomorrow. Florida isn't that far from North Carolina, then again who knows with my apartment complexes handling of packages.
Well you've seen your fair share of scholarships... Now its my turn haha Hopefully Duke gives me something huge, but I'm not really expecting anything crazy. It would be really nice to hear from Harvard and Boalt already too.
You know I would love to go to texas, but how do you say no to Duke with money or U chicago. I think we could probably get them to give us full rides, Duke is ranked higher and gave us almost what tuition cost there for three years in state. And yeah I am definitely going to try to get more, its not like they can take it away!
The waiting game is no fun but we both have some amazing options! Congrats on all of your fabulous acceptances thus far...fingers crossed for Harvard :)
Shane - I was priority track (SP=special program), the $$$$ column on LSN is how much scholarship money someone received.
Most likely I am going to throw my hat in with all the other people who want to visit "the place where fun goes to die" lol After three years maybe I'll be able to get a job, who knows though....
You know Stanford actually sent me their admissions stuff and the hardship waiver application from teh CRS. I looked at all the stuff thought "Wow it would be amazing to go there" and didn't apply cause I thought I had no shot what so ever. Now I've gotten into U Chicago with a scholly and on hold at Harvard. I wonder what miracles could of happened there, but hindsight is 20/20.I Hope you capitalize on your foresight : )
Thanks yeah. I was definitely blessed. Made a decision yet?
thanks! and as much as i hate waiting, i think stanford might be the only waitlist i will stay on. where are you leaning?
Hey, Did you try sending a follow-up email/letter of continued interest to those schools that waitlisted you? forpeopleofcolor.org has tips on that and examples. I mean just a thought. I personally haven't written any because I didn't have a school that I would drop everything to go to no matter what, but if you do then I think it would be good to write one.
fyi you have to sign up for the mailing list and then they will send you the packet with all the information in it.
i mean emailing list
you are right! That would be the best possible option probably. Good luck the rest of your cycle! I visited Duke and it's in a great city. The law school is big and beautiful and the library is amazing.
