___________________________DECISIONS___________________________

2/1 - E-mail acceptance from UCLA. They promise to send me an acceptance packet by mail in early February. It's nice to have the first decision be positive, instead of that inevitable ding from Stanford!

2/2 - Acceptance letter in mail from Washington, dated Jan. 31. Two for two so far!

2/10 - Received an acceptance and merit scholarship offer from Arizona today. The acceptance was dated the 6th, and the scholarship letter was dated the 7th, though they were in the same envelope. Scholarship is Dean's Achievement for $14K the first year and $9K for years two and three. Hand-written notes on botton of both letters.

2/13 - Got a letter from Columbia today, dated the 10th. Application will be placed in "reserve category", in other words waitlisted. I'm debating whether to send in the post card or not.

2/24 - Cornell sent an e-mail acceptance to me today. I didn't go complete here until late in the cycle because they misfiled my dean's letter. At least Cornell had a good turnaround time when I finally went complete. My first T14!

2/24 - Also got an acceptance from ASU in the mail today. Letter was dated Feb. 20th. The hand-written note at the bottom referred to my personal statement. Considering that writing the "perfect" personal statement was what kept me from getting my apps in earlier, it's good to know that at least someone read it.

3/1 - I got the "further review" e-mail from Berkeley. My app is being sent on to the faculty admissions commitee. I won't know the result until March 22nd, at the earliest. I'm guessing that a deferral is the best way to classify it.

3/3 - I was one of the many who received the Michigan waitlist e-mail today.

3/6 - Got the ding from Stanford in the mail today. It was expected, but it still stings a bit.

3/9 - In at Duke via e-mail. Finally, some good news! I always wanted to go to Duke as a little kid. Perhaps that fact, and the greater prestige, could sway me to Duke over UCLA.

3/20 - Got a scholarship offer from ASU last week. Tuition and fees the first year and $5k for the second and third years. I'll be withdrawing from ASU soon.

3/20 - Received a lare envelope from USC today with an acceptance. Letter was dated March 17th. I wish they could have let me know earlier so I could have visited the school while I was in LA last week.

3/24 - Chicago rejection came in the mail today. Dated the 21st.

4/3 - Came home from Duke visit to find a scholarship offer from them in the mail. This makes my decision even harder.

4/10 - Got a letter from ASU basically offering a $1K per year tuitiion remission. I am going to withdraw from ASU, Washington and Cornell today. Hope this helps some of you out!

4/12 - Berkeley rejection finally arrived in the mail.

4/12 - NYU waitlist offer came in a large manilla envelope.

4/28 - Lady from UCLA admissions just called with great news. I was awarded a $75k scholarhsip. I think that tips the scales in favor of UCLA. I will withdraw from Duke, USC and U of A.

5/9 - Faxed in my Dean's Scholarship acceptance for UCLA. Incredibly excited to attend in the Fall. Go Bruins!

Congrats on all your acceptances. What kind of money did you receive from ASU???

The acceptance letter didn't mention anything about scholarship money. I would guess that unlike Arizona, ASU doesn't send out scholarship offers until later in the year.

Another wildcat in at Duke.. awesome! Plus, you got the deferral at Boalt which is pretty sweet. Are you going to Duke's admitted students' day?
