Wednesday, January 11 2006 at 07:00 PM

I appreciate what you wrote on my page. I do have issues with that fact a minority with my same GPA and LSAT score would get into more schools than I will because of my race, but I understand where you are coming from and I know that nothing is guaranteed. Like everyone else, I just want a fair chance at law school and that's all I want for anyone. I hope we can continue this discussion at Yale, I think Yale needs people like us. good luck to you and congrats on george mason!

Thanks

Re: Cal
Wednesday, September 07 2005 at 08:00 PM

Thanks for the comments on my page. Yeah, Cal Berkeley's emphasis on GPA is the only thing that made give me a glimmer of hope.....but a very small love it to see you there next year =) You know, I haven't given much thought as to why Yale has remained at #1. I tend to only think about the schools I am interested in (as in, have a shot to go to). It is pretty crazy though that it is the only school to stay at the same spot every single year. you would think there would be one year in which it falters.

Thanks

hehe, thanks for dropping by. I have started to accept the realization that it really is not in my hands any longer, but the wait is sooo hard. If I didn't know about caller-id and want to be seen as a psycho I would most probably call every school every day to see if they had an answer for me yet, lol. Good Luck with Berkeley, I see that is your numero uno!!

Monday, December 19 2005 at 07:00 PM

I decided to delete all comments from a certain hater as well as my responses--Who needs negativity at this time? I'm sure s/he will respond to this. He is checking my page every 10 min. I am sad for you that you sit arounf on LSN/LSD and post mean and stupid comments on people's pages. I need to hire you as my editor--you're good at picking out grammatical and spelling errors!

Numbers
Saturday, September 17 2005 at 08:00 PM

yes my gpa went up quite abit, not sure if it will make a difference. I took down my numbers because I noticed through my blog that Indiana and UF both looked at my blog for long amounts of time, plus I am sure they can match me up to my LSD. How many black girls got rejected today and posted on both?? haha I can honestly say that these schools are looking at what we say, and we have identifying info it is easy for them to figure us out ;0) Goodluck with Temple, I am sure you are in. I would love to go there as well.

why I chose Harvard

you asked... I picked Harvard over Stanford b/c they told me so quickly and it's easier for my finace to find a job in boston than SF.

This is the gap between our SAT scores. My guess is that you got big time scholarship money for undergrad. We still have several schools in common, so we could possibly end up at the same place. Where do you want to practice? Among my seven hidden apps, four or possibly five are still meaningful at this point. I hope to hear from at least one these schools this week so I can plan my visits. I don't know when you graduated from HU, but I drove by your campus every day on my way to work when I lived in the DC area.

Monday, January 30 2006 at 07:00 PM

The UC situation really bothers me. All of the partisan political interference coming from the reactionaries must be intolerable to the faculty. The system is being short changed by tax revolts and held hostage by politicans. These people are determined to gut the greatest university system in the world. Apparently, destroying the public schools through prop.13 wasn't enough...now it is time to go after the universities.

USC $
Wednesday, September 28 2005 at 08:00 PM

Looks like you put your scholarship money from USF in the USC field by accident.

LOL!

That is tooooooo funny. Maybe is was a freudean slip! I hope so!! Good looks

Thanks
Saturday, September 17 2005 at 08:00 PM

so much. I am thinking that I will be attending UIUC this fall. They have been soooo nice to me on the phone and the school is the highest I have been accpeted to and even though their schooly is less than Case's, their tuition is cheaper and so they would cost me about the same thing. I hope u get into Hastings, NYU and UCLA, I am pretty sure you have a great shot at all of them and you have already been accepted to some great schools!! ;0)

Wow!
Monday, January 30 2006 at 07:00 PM

You've had a great couple of days. Congratulations on Santa Clara and the Scholarship from Temple. Of all the DC area and VA schools, how did you decide to apply to George Mason? It seems to be a good school that I somehow completely missed when I was applying.

thanks
Sunday, March 05 2006 at 07:00 PM

for you comment. i have considered retaking the lsat, but i just don't know if i could handle the waiting process all over again... or if my score would improve considerably for that matter. i still have hope for UoP (my dad is an alum, i have no idea if that carries any weight at all) and i guess i'll be optimistic about the USF waitlist also. great job on all of your acceptances!!

Hey!
Tuesday, August 16 2005 at 08:00 PM

Just checkin' in with you. Congrats on your acceptances! I hope there are many more to come, but more importantly, that they come soon! (The waiting is killin' me, too!) Take care!

Congrats
Saturday, September 17 2005 at 08:00 PM

Monday, January 30 2006 at 07:00 PM

You've got to love these AA people. It's funny. I went to grad school in Texas at a time when the Hopwood decision prevented the use of AA. While AA was discussed as social policy, it was never, ever, discussed in terms of questioning someone's admission into the program. Here we are almost a decade after SP-1, SP-2, and prop 209 and you still have to read this garbage. You know what you have to do once you get to...Northwestern :-)

Wisconsin
Monday, January 30 2006 at 07:00 PM

Wisconsin lost my scholarship application twice. The first time was due to a computer error that dumped a large number of on-line scholarship applications. The second time, the application either never arrived or disappeared. I've been interested in Wisconsin for a variety of reason throughout this entire process. Their scholarship decisions are not decided at the time of admission, so I hope that I am still being considered. You're on a roll with these acceptances. WTG!

Thanks!
Friday, March 17 2006 at 07:00 PM

Thank you for the comment! Congrats on all your acceptances as well and goodluck with the rest of the schools :)

hey,
Saturday, September 17 2005 at 08:00 PM

thanx for the post. i want to congratulate you on your present and future acceptances. re: the networking opp. you are in, definitely. i am likely going to be doing a cleo program in june through july so the opp should take place some time in august. it would really be great if you get into nw. it would be awesome to one day start a minority firm in the chicago area. that's where i want to practice. i am really going out of mind waiting on notre dame and my illinois schools. hope to see in august. good luck with the apps. p.s. i hear you on the spelling and typing stuff. i too need to work on my spelling and typing skills. i worry about that torts exam during 1L.

Thanks
Wednesday, March 01 2006 at 07:00 PM

Yeah, my decision would seem strange to some, but it's just a personal preference. I don't want to go into Biglaw, and I'm fairly sure I want to remain in the South, so the fact that Vandy travels better than Alabama isn't really a big deal to me. Plenty of lawyers here in TN have Alabama degrees. Thanks for the input, though, and I do realize that most people would probably take Vandy over Alabama; I'm just in the small minority that would do the opposite. Visiting both certainly helped me make the decision.

Wow

Haha, just kidding...but yes, I definitely appreciate your comments! I think it's the first time I've heard the "I told you so" being used in a good way :p And no, I was not able to make the Temple dinner so we didn't see each other...but if you decide to stay in the bay for school, maybe we will have a chance to get together. ...for the good words. no, i won't be going to the admit days because i'm not in the country. i'll be selecting a law school entirely unseen. that's part of the reason i wanted to go to boalt so badly--i attended berkeley for undergrad and knew what to expect. let me know what you think of hastings & santa clara.

What?!
Saturday, February 25 2006 at 07:00 PM

You don't even know how to spell and applied to Yale, NYU and Columbia? Maybe you should apply to Oakwood Elementary.

LSN?
Saturday, February 25 2006 at 07:00 PM

The fact that you use the acronym LSN makes me laugh. This is your lifeline, isn't it...

Charming...
Saturday, February 25 2006 at 07:00 PM

You weren't kidding about the spelling, were you. I assume you meant "mormon". Yes, I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I'm amused by your lack of education with regard to religion. It's been a while since I've encountered such naivete. Not that I expect you to study my faith, I simply don't expect you to make any intelligent remarks regarding it's nature. Thank you for not surprising me...

Yea...
Monday, December 19 2005 at 07:00 PM

and I bet that is what you were doing in Brazil. You mormons love to go preach to "under developed" countries. ( Missions I believe they are called and you do them for two years right?) But hey YOU don't surprise ME. Afterall you are a memeber of a faith that prohibited African-Americans from becoming priests until when exactly? I'm unsure but since you are mormon maybe you could provide the answer? Really I don't care, I just think you are lame for spreading negativity. Didn't your mother teach you not to say anything if you don't have anything nice to say? I would never stop by somebody's page just to take a swipe at them. Which leads me to this--you never addressed why you spread hate on random pages? Care to answer that or did I have some misspellings or grammer errors you'd like to point out instead? Is this is mormon way?

...
Saturday, February 25 2006 at 07:00 PM

Do you truly want to know about the church? If so, I would be glad to talk with you. I'm just not really into bashing people's beliefs...

Incidentally...
Saturday, February 25 2006 at 07:00 PM

... I actually hate BYU and just about everyone who lives in Provo.

Thanks!!

If you do go to HU you at least you will not have to pay the $300 enrollment fee. I am sure it says this is a one-time University fee, that you would have paid in undergrad. Then again, with the way they lost your application fee, then who knows. TJ

Saturday, September 17 2005 at 08:00 PM

HU really doesn't seem to be on the ball, is very reminescent of my FSU app that is still out there, somewhere in the galaxy, haha. I hope you get into a top 20, that would be awesome!!

HU
Monday, January 30 2006 at 07:00 PM

If HU can't get it together, would you really want to go there? The answer could be yes if the incompetence was limited to the admissions office...but we both know better. AS for me, I just got a priority waitlist from UIUC.

wow wow wow
Saturday, September 17 2005 at 08:00 PM

So sorry about your going's on with Howard. That is actually why I didn't even apply. I met a rep at a law school forum and they were absolutely horrid and I was like if this who is representing the school then forget it. My friend Sunpixie is also having a horrid time with them right now. Hopefully the dean's will be effusive with apologies and let you in with loadsa money!!! Here's to hoping!

California Love
Monday, January 30 2006 at 07:00 PM

I wish I were still in-state for California tuition purposes. As you can see, I have had about enough with this waiting on Loyola. I even visited the school in early December. It would have been nice to think that I could have recieved a decision in time for my first deposits. At this point, I am hoping for the best at one more LA school. I am sorry about the crap you have had to put up with in dealing with HU. As a prospective student and an alumna, you should expect and demand more of them.

Your Stats
Sunday, August 14 2005 at 08:00 PM

Now that you have most of your application results will you share your stats with us?

Hey
Saturday, October 22 2005 at 08:00 PM

Sorry about the hard time you're having w/Howard. I believe the same rude woman is spoiling everyone's experiences w/the admissions office. I just called to schedule a campus visit and she still found a way to be needlessly mean. I ended up not visiting. I called again some time later to discuss my scholarship, but it was the same story all over again. Howard was my first choice a couple of months ago, now I'm dead set on withdrawing next week. Pretty sad, huh? : ( Ah well... I see that you've been accepted to Hastings. Congrats! It's a great school. Good luck on the rest of your apps.

GMU
Wednesday, October 12 2005 at 08:00 PM

I really did either call or send an email everyweek to GMU. I decided to pursue GMU so fanatically because I actually thought I had a chance there (turns out I was right) and I could easily visit the school in person b/c I live in DC. Good luck with Northwestern

I went to visit a few weeks back and the area around Tulane, the French Quarter, and the Business District looked fine (esp. the French Quarter -it's great ;- ). But, I did get lost for about an hour before my tour and though I didn't see anything like the 9th Ward district that got completely devastated, I saw a couple of neighborhoods that looked kinda bad. Lots of convenience stores were still closed in this area too. But, I think the city's getting better everyday. I'm hoping I can help out during the rebuilding process for the next couple of years. Did I mention that I've always loved NOLA and that I'm too excited about living there? : )

Just FYI as a LDS person I would like to apologize for the comments of Phineas1713. Bashing somebody like that rarely leads to positive results. Have a good one.

I am running up your page views total waiting to see what happens for you at GULC. My cycle is finally catching up with me as I have landed on a few waitlists. Given this late date in the season I would be happy for one more acceptance (Trojans? Longhorns?). We'll see.

Thanks!

and congrats on your acceptances as well....you are really racking up the cash btw. While USD was extremely tempting (can't beat the weather), I've been lured elsewhere. Where are you leaning?

Congrats

USC vs Hastings
Tuesday, February 07 2006 at 07:00 PM

I'm not from the Bay Area, I'm actually from Florida. I applied to the Bay Area Schools because it is an awesome area. I visited Hastings last month but came away unimpressed. Just not my style. I'm crossing my fingers on USC!

Sure

I would be glad to give you my thoughts. Your decision will not be an easy one. If you would, please send me an e-mail and I will respond. Of course, I could continue to post here if you would prefer. Congratulations on the great offer from HU!

How is anyone supposed to reference your information if there's neither LSAT nor GPA listed? I thought that was kind of the idea behind "lawschoolNUMBERS". Regardless, congrats on your acceptances, and good luck on your pendings.

Come to Hastings
Monday, March 13 2006 at 07:00 PM

A full ride at Howard is tough to turn down if you want to work in the D.C. area. Have you mentioned that offer to Hastings? Maybe they can come up with something, they'd be fools to let you get away.

yeah, I think I could do much better if I retook. I totally didn't study well, I only focused on the games, which I scored perfectly in. I am thinking of possibly retaking in June and if I do much better than just reapplying. I just don't know if it is worth it though. Everyone, aside from 1 friend has totally been negative about it as well. :0( So what should we do? lmao about Case, some of these schools don't get it. Even though I really liked them, I mean the free ti-shirt is way COOL, hehe so should we or shouldn't we?

For info in general, I certainly can't say anything, you do a good job updating. Admissions, in my case, is mostly a straight up numbers game. I don't have great extracurrics or unique factors. I just noticed you actually have a WL for Northwestern. Good luck, that's an awesome school.

So I don't think i'll be retaking anylonger. I just got some love from IOWA.

Wednesday, November 09 2005 at 07:00 PM

hi, pretty sure i know who you are. did i meet your mom? sooo, do you think you'll be heading to HU or will we see you at Hastings? I definitely hear what you're saying about missing Howard- I was struck when I visited a class at Hastings and saw very few African American (or other people of color aside from A/PI). But, at the same time, you seemed like you'd be a good addition to our class. I'm sure you'll do whatever is right for you. Feel free to email me off site or call....

Am I a doofus?

hey, thanks for the words. it's always nice to hear encouragement - especially from people who don't know you. alan isn't so bad, he just gets a bad rap. most people know his position on only two topics but the man is deeper than that. thanks again!

CONGRATS on your decision!!! That is so awesome, I will have to come and visit you in the bay area. I am so ignorant, is that near San Francisco?? lol We def have to keep in touch!!!

HASTINGS
Tuesday, January 03 2006 at 07:00 PM

Congrats on Hastings!!!! We share the same #1s... USC and Hastings... except USC already said NO to me... I'm really hoping for Hastings!!!! If you don't mind me asking, did you apply LEOP?

Northwestern
Monday, November 21 2005 at 07:00 PM

Yeah, I would be sad to bail on Vandy. I've built it up so much in my mind. If NU comes calling, I think my first order of business would be to try to squeeze as much money as possible out of both schools. If the money is close, then I'd go to NU; if Vandy clears NU by a lot (we're taking $20k+ per year), then I stick with NashVegas. It would definitely be a good quandry to have, though. Hopefully it's one that we both end up with! We'll have to stay in touch either way.

Hastings $$

The money I received from Hastings is need based. I just multiplied it by 3 because unless your economic situation changes drastically you can expect it renewed

I got an email yesterday with the decision, then an email today with the official PDF letter. I actually wasn't expecting to hear from any waitlists until July, so this was a nice surprise!

Where did you decide on going with all those acceptances?
