Received deferral in regular-sized envelope from Rutgers. They're at the top of my list so hopefully the second look will swing in my favor!

***3-06-07
I'm beginning to think I may be the only person who sent their applications in when I did (January 17) and hasn't heard ANYTHING back... anyone else in the same boat? I'd just like to be able to say I am going to law school in the fall for sure...

***03-07-07
Careful what you wish for, right? Ohio State online status checker went to 'Decision'. I'll just have to wait for the inevitable rejection. Too bad my first response is a rejection - not how I would have liked to start the cycle.

***03-08-07
Seton Hall received my transcript from London today (they don't subscribe to the JD CAS service so they need outside verification), so all my applications are complete now. Some have been complete since January so hopefully I'll hear back anytime now. *shoots evil (yet good natured) glance towards admissions boards*

OMG Accepted to NYLS! Got a regular sized letter dated March 7 accepting me as a Trustee Scholar. 30k a year with GPA requirements. Not one of my top choices, but a whole lot of money! And my OSU letter still hasn't come, so I got my wish! First decision is an acceptance! I'm going to law school!!

***03-27-07
Received a waitlist letter at St. Johns today, which doesn't bother me really. I wasn't rejected, and considering I applied so late (Feb. 27) I couldn't really expect much else. I'd rather go to Rutgers or Seton Hall anyway, so just crossing my fingers for them! Will return letter of interest though...I'd definitely consider them!

***04-07-07
Waitlisted at USF via post, which is a bit worrying for me. I had thought I had a good chance and it makes me wonder if any T2 is going to admit me outright, being a bit of an unknown with my foreign degree. Maybe it's a chance they're not willing to take. Fingers crossed on Loyola, Seton Hall, Case and Rutgers! I suppose if none let me in my decision is pretty easy though, so maybe it will be a blessing in disguise...

***04-09-07
Status checker at Southwestern says on the 9th I was sent an offer to be put on their waiting list. My low-level anxiety has now turned to flat-out panic, as they should have been a lock for me. I'm trying to not be upset, as I'd go to NYLS over them, but it worries me even more than the USF waitlist...

***04-16-07
Not even a waitlist at Seton Hall...this one hurt, guys

***04-23-07
Waitlisted at Rutgers. Not a shock, and it's not bad either-- I'll head to NYC and at the worst case is I end up taking a 30k a year scholarship. I'll already be in NYC, so I can always decide on Rutgers if they let me in.

***04-25-07
Rejection from Loyola...not a surprise in the least, and to be honest I'm a little relieved. I didn't relish the idea of even THINKING about moving to LA, and now it's pretty much settled for NYC. I'm keeping it open at Pepperdine but I'm not too keen on the religious emphasis there. NYC here I come!

***05-01-07
Rejected from Pepperdine. No biggie :) Also, talked to Case and they said I would hear from them in the next couple days

Yeah... Case is taking awhile. I'm not sure how serious I am about potentially going there b/c I don't really think I want to be in Cleveland either. Of my acceptances so far, DePaul's who I would go with, but of course the schools I care the most about haven't given me an answer yet. Looks like we have the same first choice... So best of luck! I actually visited Cardozo for the first time on Monday. Awesome location!

Hi, thank you. NYLS came via regular mail in a small white envelope. Pace is a possibility, but as of now I am not sure what I will do. Good luck to you.

Hey, thanks for the congrats! I'm sure you'll hear from them soon. I still haven't heard anything as far as scholarships go, but hopefully they'll send something soon. Did you apply to USD? If not, may I ask why you haven't? I would take USD over SW and Loyola, and you would definitely have a shot with them. Good luck!

Thanks!

Yeah, the email was probably after the letter but getting the email first was a surprise. It was basically just the password and username to get to the admitted students site. I think I was complete on Feb. 5 with all my paperwork but they didn't get my application few for a few days after, more than a week if the deposit was any indication. The whole thing happened pretty quick. Good luck!

I'm in your boat as well...

I sent out almost all of my applications in the first week of January and I have yet to hear from a single school as well. Its kinda scary and I'm not sure whether I should be thinking that its a good thing or a bad thing. My mind keeps scaring me into thinking the bad, but I'm really hoping it isn't. Anyways, best of luck to you and hopefully we both get an acceptance before a rejection! =D

The Wait...

Yeah, it is a painful process. I'm glad to see that you know that your at least going to law school. I'm sure some of your top choices will end up accepting you. I guess it is still somewhat early in the process and the schools have sent out mostly their top choices, I'm hoping the second wave of acceptances brings both of us some good news!

It's a great feeling...

Now that I have an acceptance I feel like a huge weight has been lifted. I am waiting to hear from other schools and to see if I get any $$$. The deposit deadline isn't too far away so I hope the other schools start responding.

hey...

yea, i really hope more people withdraw. At my rate being waitlisted and rejected left and right(though some were expected) any admission would be nice right now. Still waiting for the chance to say YES, i'm going to law school. But if I had to choose the top 3 I guess it would be Loyola, USD, and Santa Clara. Anyway, thanks for dropping a line and congrats on your acceptances so far. Gluck to you for the remainder of this cycle.

They sent me a letter actually informing that I was put on the waitlist. It was dated April 19th but I received it a few days later. I feel good about USF, I'm happy to go there but to be quite honest I would really love to go to either of the two schools I am still pending at, Hastings and Santa Clara. Hastings is a reach but I'm hoping for a waitlist and then an admission during the summer. I hope to get into Santa Clara and if I do, I believe I would rather go there than USF.

thanks...I hear ya, so many waitlist. But just as everyone else tells me, better a waitlist offer than a rejection. Goodluck!

Thanks so much!

I appreciate the kind words... I have a tough decision but I'm leaning towards SCU. Maybe if I open a spot at USF you may get it!
