ADDITIONAL INFO & UPDATES

All apps sent out the first day they opened.

Got a grade request from NYU, but never responded since I had decided on Michigan already. Duke asked for grades as well after the WL and just out of curiosity I responded and wrote a LOCI. They ended up accepting me and offering me around the same money as michigan. After figuring out the job prospects of the two schools are the same, I chose duke for the weather, lifestyle, class size and focus on the southeast.

Sent Why? essays to Michigan, UVA, Duke, and Vandy.
Did only one Penn essay. I think I should have done two if I wanted to go there.

Tips for people with numbers like mine:
If you are sure you want some place (and at sticker) go visit then ED.
Asides from Michigan you are probably not getting much money in the T14. (The duke money was a fluke with my numbers)
I told people before the cycle started I would probably end up at mich with a scholarship. Thats how it ended up right until duke let me in unexpectedly. LSN is pretty useful for predicting your cycle. Don't count on miracles and plan your application strategy based on what you see, not on what you hope to see.
If you are in school still take your senior year seriously, you may get asked for your grades.
One last thing...be patient. I got my first acceptance (from georgetown) in october and my last (from duke) in june. Try to enjoy your acceptances and try to relax. This is the fun part of the law school process.

What's up with the WL? I got one too, with similar numbers, but they generally dont practice YP. Anyways, congrats on your other acceptances so far. I wish I submitted earlier like you.

Hi, do you think the fact that you applied so early helped you?

I don't think the first day app helped me more the an october app. I think applying before the oct LSAT may have helped but I actually wish I waited a little longer to apply to get a couple more fee waivers. I would apply as soon as you can get your best quality app out.

No, I only took it once in june. I wish I started my prep course earlier. My course (which was my only prep) began may 5th and I took the test june 10th. The first two weeks was getting down the technique. I should have had more time for practice. It all worked out on test day, but I should have prepped longer.
