-12/03/10: btw, I just wanted to say that I'm happy to crack the t-14!!!
-12/06/10: just received my W&M package and a $12,000/year scholly (have to maintain a C average)...

-03/25/11: Received a measly 15,000/year via snailmail from my alma mater just a day after i got 35,000/year from GULC -- I think I will be withdrawing soon, hope this helps anyone waiting to hear from USC!
-03/28/11: $45,000 from Cornell. Nothing compared to the $105,000 that GULC gave me. I guess it's time to negotiate!

-04/08/11: Why no Penn finaid yet? I'm getting very anxious especially since Penn is my first choice.

-04/15/11: Just withdrew from my undergrad alma mater. Good luck to all future fellow Trojans!
-04/15/11: As much as I loved the idea of attending Cornell, $60,000 simply wasn't enough for me considering my other options. This was my hardest withdrawal so far!
-04/18/11: Where is my purple envelope from NYU? I want it!
-04/18/11: Just got my purple envelope -- will be withdrawing soon I think.
-04/18/11: Withdrew from Georgetown -- it was really hard considering how much $$$ they gave me, but I think I'm set for Penn now.
04/18/11: Also, I sent in my seat deposit for Penn.
04/19/11: Bye bye UVA!!!
04/20/11: Received scholarship package from NYU. $15,000 my first year, $13,000 for my second year, and $7,500 for my last year.

04/22/11: Email from Penn that they received my tuition deposit!
04/25/11: In at UCLA! Why so late? I already sent my deposit to Penn!

04/28/11: Got package from UCLA.
04/29/11: It was hard but bye bye NYU!!!
05/05/11: Bye bye UCLA!
05/23/11: After weeks of contemplation, I couldn't see myself going to NU over Penn. Bye bye Northwestern!!!
06/07/11: Bye bye Duke!
06/08/11: Withdrew from Columbia.
06/09/11: So I'm finally absolutely sure I'm going to Penn now. So excited!

Thanks man, although your softs are much more impressive than mine (also my LSAT is a retake)! Good luck on the Cornell EA as well, and looks like you're going at a much faster pace with the apps. I'm still writing my Why Duke, Virginia, and Penn essays so I might not get those in until later this week.

Africa?

Any chance you want to give a little more info on growing up in Africa? I assume you wrote your essays on that topic?

Sorry about Michigan! I just wish them and Cornell would tell me something.

Monday, October 11 2010 at 08:00 PM

we have similar options. do you know yet what you are thinking of doing?

Monday, October 11 2010 at 08:00 PM

I really liked the Admitted Student day at Cornell and I am expecting to really like UVa when I visit, but, if I had to say, short of new money developments, I am leaning toward the money at Vandy right now.
