Good luck this cycle!
- ashsrevngeGood luck with all your applications! I love that you're dedicated to making things right for kids. You deserve to be somewhere good!
- silentswirlGood luck...Where does Villanova rank for you in the scheme of things?
- Penndude7Like you, I am happy with a Richmond WL as a reach applicant. No clue on the dynamics of the UR WL.
- jamesriverCongrats to you too - at least a WL is better than rejection! I don't really know anything about the WL process except that I was also on the WL last year and did not receive a spot. I was not very diligent about following up, however, because I got a job that I decided to stick with for a year. I was hoping that after retaking the LSAT, submitting better LORs and PS, and having a year of work experience it would go better for me this year. I'll definitely be at Richmond if accepted!
- minestar7It should be noted that USNEWS does their ranking based on #'s 2 years ago, so when Duq dropped to tier 4 it was based on the bar passage rate of 68% 2 years ago, now its at 85% - but these numbers wont be reflected until next year.
- observationThanks for the observation.! Where did you find the info about the bar passage rate? I also wondered if the drop in tier comes from Duquesne's 52% acceptance rate, making it one of the least selective ABA-approved law schools. Thanks again! :)
- Jen2bjdYeah it is ridiculous...I'm going to wait it out and now that Penn State waitlisted me yesterday I have 3 schools that i would choose over Syracuse b/c of that tuition increase. I'm surprised they didnt give you any $$ with your numbers.
- sleepykid99From what ive learned the drop has nothing to do with the 52% acceptance rate primarily because duq. doesnt offer free application as do the comparable tier 3 schools, therefore less people apply and thats why it may seem duq is less selective when its really not. As for the bar passage rate, its in the US news article and if you look up how they derive their #'s it explains it there.
- observationI guess I should have clarified. I meant where did you find the information that said that Duq is now at 85%? Thanks!
- Jen2bJDDo you mean to say you got an answer back from Nova in less than a month? Wow, I've been complete three months now and I haven't heard a word. Did you send a gift/bribe with your app?
- flirtinwitdisasterYou seemed really excited about your admission to 'cuse. What made you withdraw?
- JawradyI definitely think that I will end up there. They have offered me a grant; and I submitted some essays today that hopefully will get me some scholarship money. Also, this afternoon I contacted a recent alum that is now with a large, national firm and she has offered to discuss job opportunities down the road. That made me feel a lot better about my decision ... you know, just to know that there are alums out there that are will ing to help out with things like jobs. Did you submit the optional essays for scholarship consideration? I didn't when I aplied, but they offered to let me turn them in and still be considered. I'll let you know how that turns out.
- JawradyCongrats and good luck! I called Richmond this week, and they said that the waitlist is not moving yet, and it's not ranked. Probably doesn't help much, but it's info at least...
- jonner770Best of luck to you. I understand your child advocacy interest, I'm going to try to be a guardian ad litem for my required pro bono work at Penn.
- Curtis1619Congrats on getting into Pitt
- Steelers87As of right now, I'm still looking for somewhere to live. A lot of students live in Oakland, Shadyside and Squirrel Hill. Feel free to message me anytime also.
- Steelers87Hey, first off, congratulations on UPitt!! It must've been wonderful to hear that you'd been accepted (I'm still on WL for another school). Just wanted to let you know that Pittsburgh is a fun, AFFORDABLE city. I went to CMU for undergrad, and I loved living there. Shadyside is one of the nicest areas, but just keep in mind that there are other places that are muuuch closer to UPitt's campus. CONGRATS, again!
- 411I noticed your sig on LSD changed from Duquesne to Pitt... amazing bump! Nice job and congratulations!
- SharkWeekHow did PSU let you know you were accepted off the waitlist? Any other info you can share on them?
- stefusHey what section did you end up with C2 here.
- Steelers87what do you plan on doing now that you're into villanova??
