Extra Curricular Information

I had a pretty good summer internship. I had some volunteer work, joined a couple clubs, and wrote a thesis.

I had a relatively minor alcohol violation through my university, although I was put on probation because of it.

I included a 1-page Resume for all of my applications that allowed it. I also wrote a "Why x" for most of the schools.

Additional info & updates

I stayed on all the waitlists all the way through. I was legitimately considering them all. That said, for the most part, I just followed up one time with a Letter of Continued Interest and then went several months without corresponding with the university.

For the Waitlists, I have listed the date I received the Waitlist letter.

Also, when I sent Withdraw e-mails, Cardozo's Dean sent me a reply asking me to reconsider and wondering if there was anything they could do. I'm guessing they would have upped the assistance if I asked for it.

BC waitlisted me and I wrote a letter saying I wanted to stay on the Waitlist. They never responded as far as I can tell.

I asked for a scholarship from Fordham, and they told me I was below their median numbers and would not be able to give me $$.

Updating this on the fifth week of school, I'm very happy with Emory.

It looks like you and I are the same in terms of numbers and opposite in terms of coasts... you have a few on the west coast and I have a few on the east. Good luck with your cycle. I'm excited to see where you end up getting accepted.

Cheers!

Well considering your slight edge GPA-wise, expect to find me begging you to withdraw from schools in a few months so that I can have YOUR spot! Good luck to you too, here's hoping for a good cycle for both of us!

numbers... er... septuplets?

there's definitely a lot of us 3.5/166ers around. Hopefully we'll all get in where we want to! Best of luck to you

Hey! I hadn't really thought about it. Is it easy to switch into the full-time division? Do you know anything about the avg. LSAT/GPA for it?

Thanks!

Thanks for the advice and all, I think I'm going to take it.. What's $92 at this point? Good luck, I'm sure you'll have some great options come Spring.

Congrats

Congrats on OSU...you'll have 11 great weeks of college football each fall before they get trounced by the BCS. On another note...do you have any idea where you want to practice?

yeah dude, I'm only in a couple places. the 3.5/166 with the best acceptance so far is gclemen with W&L today. that bodes well for all of us, right?

Top pick

Thanks for the note! Looks like you're off to a good start, hope the acceptances keep comin'. :) I have a favorite, but I don't want to jinx it! Plus, I haven't officially visited any of the schools with law school in mind, and "fit" is a big factor for me. Hope that answers your question well enough!

I sure hope they do! It was definitely the most random of my applications but their virtual tour worked its magic. Hey I just noticed that you applied & were accepted as well. Congrats! Now let's hope they throw some $$ our way.

Thanks!

BC Waitlist Question
Friday, November 16 2007 at 07:00 PM

I'm curious - are you on the regular waitlist or the priority waitlist for BC? Do you know if there's a difference. I'm also on the WL so I'm curious - thanks!

What's up man? I wish I had seen your LSN post a couple days back; I didn't know about the 90 for our numbers yet, and I was totally surprised to get the letter today. It sure does make Emory seem appealing, doesn't it? I think my first order of business will be to forward the letter on to W&L to see if I can't get them up from the 47. Other than that, I'll wait out my Vandy WL, and wind up picking between W&L, Emory, and Vandy if I get them. It would be hard to accept a waitlist in like July if I've already gotten settled with the idea of going to Atlanta or Lexington, and with the full price tag, but I still really want Vandy. Good luck, man! Keep me up to date.

Congrats on Emory Scholarship
Saturday, September 29 2007 at 08:00 PM

Congrats dude! I can't wait till ASW, we will have to ball out.

Congrats
Thursday, August 23 2007 at 08:00 PM

Congrats on all you admits. Are you leaning towards one school?

re: thanks
Thursday, August 23 2007 at 08:00 PM

My head says GW, my heart says WUSTL, and my ego says Georgetown. I've be going back an forth with this decision for a month now. If I had to answer today, I would say that I am leaning 60/40 towards Georgetown over WUSTL. I think GW is pretty much out. I see you are on the WL at both GW and Georgtown. Not sure if yo are wanting one, but I hope my withdrawing from one of the two schools opens a spot for you soon.

UNC
Monday, April 21 2008 at 08:00 PM

Congrats on a great cycle. If possible, could you please withdraw from UNC?

Congrats!
Tuesday, October 07 2008 at 08:00 PM

Seems like you had a great cycle last year, nice to hear that you're pleased with your decision to attend Emory. Emory is close to the top of my list, my numbers are very similar to yours and I was wondering if you did/said anything that helped you get so much scholarship money. Scholarship money may end up being a deciding factor in my decision and $90k @ Emory or close to that would make my decision pretty easy. Thanks for your help and good luck on your exams coming up!
