===================================
10/31/07- Submitted my first 2 applications, AHH! Good luck to all of my fellow applicants, we have a lot of waiting ahead of us.

11/03/07- Mailed Dean's Cert to Cornell today. I'm pretty sure they'll ding me but it won't be for lack of trying. Working on getting my last handful of applications out.

11/09/07- complete at W&M by email.

12/12/07- Illinois status checker changed to 'decision, letter mailed'. My obsessive mailbox checking has increased tenfold.

12/13/07- Fordham status checker changed to 2nd evaluation, whatever that means. Come on schools, I need some good news!
-------Looking back at last year's LSN cycle, Fordham's '2nd evaluation' seems to be a deferral after all. Oh well, i'm going to keep my hopes up!
----That's more like it! My 1st acceptance letter, from the University of San Diego, was waiting in my mailbox! I'm going to law school!!!!

12/17- Rejected by BC. Thin envelope. I knew they were unpredictable but I hoped for at least a waitlist or deferral. :(

---Accepted at Illinois ($$ is over 3 years).

12/19- Called BU and a nice woman confirmed that my application is complete. Please be kind to me Boston.
---received official "on hold" letter from Fordham via snail mail. I'm not giving up yet.

12/24- Sometime Saturday night (12/22) my Cornell Status Checker turned to decision and the small envelope came today. Deferred! I'm thrilled, haha! Yeah yeah i'm still not getting in, but a girl can dream! Woohoo!

01/04- Acceptance email from Washington & Lee! Yay!!

01/08- Phone call from Cardozo letting me know I've been accepted w/ a $30,000/yr scholarship. My first NY acceptance!

01/14- In at Emory! Phone call from the Dean of Admissions :)

1/17- Dear Boston University,
Last year you started sending out decisions in December. Please stop this torture and let me in!
XOXO,
CellarDoor

1/18- After receiving a fee waiver email that noted they "had not yet received my application" I called Brooklyn. Found out my file is complete after all, and is even "in committee". Maybe decisions will start rolling out soon?

1/19- Received letter from Brooklyn (dated 1/14) confirming that my file is complete. According to the status checker everything was in over a month ago, but i'll go by the letter.

1/25- finally received the green 'complete' postcard from BU. Apparently "most applicants receive their decision within 6-10 weeks". Please don't let it actually take that long.

1/30- notified of W&L scholarship by email- $15,800 annually. letter to follow.

2/05- letter from USD offering $17,000/yr conditional scholarship.

2/06- happened to check an old email address I never use anymore and stumbled upon an acceptance from Brooklyn Law School from yesterday. Whoops! (:

2/22- The Feb LSAT is a beautiful thing!!

2/29- Waitlisted at Fordham. Happy leap day to you too.

3/3- W&L scholarship bumped to $19,800!

3/19- scholarship packet in the mail from Brooklyn offering $28,900/yr.

3/20- San Diego bumped my scholarship to full tuition + $5k housing. Sweeet.

3/24- Finally got my W&M waitlist letter.

4/02- Letter from Emory informing me I was declined any scholarship $$. Oh well. withdrawing shortly

4/05- CORNELL!!!!!!!

4/14- In at Boston University!! And only about 5 months to the date that I sent in my application, sheesh!

And with that my cycle ends :) ::exhales::

4/23- priority watilist at Fordham, whatever that means.

4/26(ish)- I withdrew from Brooklyn weeks ago, but they keep sending me reminders about the deposit deadline and reserving my merit scholarship. Now they bumped my scholarship to 40,000/yr. Tempting, but I visited Cornell and my heart's set on Ithaca.

4/29- 10k/yr from BU. Only condition is good academic standing. I wasn't expecting anything this late. About to withdraw, it's just so hard to say goodbye to my initial first choice...

Cornell c/o 2011! Go Big Red (and Andy from the Office)! Good luck future applicants, hope the info helped!

sidenote: I finally get to put up my little 'A' for attending, woohoo!

Hi Polly/Cellar
Monday, July 23 2007 at 08:00 PM

Good luck this cycle. We're practically number twins, so I have my fingers crossed for you!

Good luck!
Saturday, September 15 2007 at 08:00 PM

I added you to my watch list since we're applying to a lot of the same schools. Good luck!

thanks for the advice
Sunday, March 04 2007 at 07:00 PM

I'll definitely look into those schools. I'm at a bit of a disadvantage having not grown up knowing anything about american school, so all help is welcome. Can't wait to see how this cycle goes as always, best of luck,

Please dont steal
Friday, October 26 2007 at 08:00 PM

Please don't steal my spot at all these schools! It looks like we're applying to mostly the same ones. Good luck this cycle..

Donnie Darko Rules!
Tuesday, October 30 2007 at 08:00 PM

Good Luck on your apps!

Dinging
Wednesday, October 17 2007 at 08:00 PM

I hope you don't get dinged at Cornell. Your numbers look great, i.e. similar to mine. Good luck.

this sucks
Wednesday, October 03 2007 at 08:00 PM

I'm waiting on the Cornell ding also; seems like we're equally as pessimistic about our numbers, huh?

You're on my watch list too!
Sunday, March 04 2007 at 07:00 PM

are you complete at BC? still waiting on that one...

Completes
Wednesday, October 17 2007 at 08:00 PM

I have gotten completion notices from a couple of schools including WashU, Penn, and BC. I am not really keeping track that closely since all my paperwork seems to be in good order.

BC!
Sunday, March 04 2007 at 07:00 PM

Got my BC complete today too! no status checker though. Every day after Dec 14 is going to be a rush to the mailbox...

you know what sucks?
Sunday, March 04 2007 at 07:00 PM

Big white envelopes in the mail that, unpon closer inspection, have been delivered to the wrong address. Damn you Paul Sneller, where ever you are! I have your mail.... It looks important.

Thanks!
Sunday, September 17 2006 at 08:00 PM

Best of luck to you :o)

haha
Tuesday, September 19 2006 at 08:00 PM

I thoroughly enjoyed your extracurricular information. Our numbers are close, I'm from florida too. Good luck with all your apps!

love the ECs!
Sunday, March 04 2007 at 07:00 PM

and I see you went with the SD fee waiver! I'm hoping I get one. Maybe next year when our mail system catches up... ::sigh::

the cycle is beginning!
Wednesday, October 03 2007 at 08:00 PM

good luck in the next few weeks! I've got my fingers crossed for all of us in the 166 LSD gang. if you wrote your PS about being the daughter of a french prostitute, I think Cornell definitely lets you in.

WOOOORD!
Sunday, July 01 2007 at 08:00 PM

Hey there. Go Gators, indeed. Looks like you're going for big cities, eh? Good luck with apps, and I'll be adding you to my watch list for sure.

thanks dude
Wednesday, October 03 2007 at 08:00 PM

appreciate the note, Polly. so the good news is, people who score 166 *do* get into law school. I feel like it's Christmas for all of us!

Brooklyn
Tuesday, October 30 2007 at 08:00 PM

How did you get a fee waiver from Brooklyn? Thanks!

BU
Monday, September 17 2007 at 08:00 PM

No, I emailed them to be sure after all my other completes had come through. The complete date refers to my email/guess, but I ought to have been complete much earlier.

2 weeks until BC
Sunday, March 04 2007 at 07:00 PM

I know! a bit nervous KNOWING something is coming soon, yikes :)

Re: Fee Waiver
Tuesday, October 30 2007 at 08:00 PM

Yea I'll check into that thanks. Don't worry you'll get in to do a good school!

Good Luck
Monday, May 28 2007 at 08:00 PM

A good LSAT and lots of good choices. Congrats on all the Fee waivers, as I mail these checks and pay my credit card bill, I'm quite jealous.

Fordham
Tuesday, October 30 2007 at 08:00 PM

I never received any confirmation from them or any notification of a status tracker. Just checked and I'm complete too.

Yup on Cardozo
Sunday, September 17 2006 at 08:00 PM

I got an email confirmation from them about 6 weeks after I applied.

Congrats!
Sunday, September 17 2006 at 08:00 PM

San Diego is beautiful!

Awesome!
Thursday, October 18 2007 at 08:00 PM

Congrats on San Diego! Ron Burgendy will be happy to have you! It is seriously one of the best cities in the country!

Wow
Sunday, July 01 2007 at 08:00 PM

I can't believe you didn't even apply to UF. Right on! Go Gators.

You Got In!
Friday, October 26 2007 at 08:00 PM

Hey, I just noticed you got into USD! About time! Congratulations!! P.S. by any chance does USD offer to fly competitive students out for free? I'd love to go to San Diego

CONGRATS!
Sunday, March 04 2007 at 07:00 PM

on USD and (!!) on breaking into the top 50 users. how nerdy are we? ;)

hahaha
Sunday, November 25 2007 at 07:00 PM

I just laughed out loud reading your extracurricular information. Fantastic!

Congrats on UIUC!
Friday, October 19 2007 at 08:00 PM

Way to pick up some sweet scholarship money there too. Don't scoff at that, Chicago is sweeter than Boston anyways. BC seems ridiculously unpredictable this cycle, and I kinda wish I would have applied now just to see if I would have gotten dinged. Don't sweat it, I get the feeling you're in for a lot of good news. Was BC a top choice for you?

Great Darko Reference
Thursday, July 12 2007 at 08:00 PM

Your writing style reminds me of John Kennedy O'Toole, so I'm sure you have a great PS. Good luck with the rest of your cycle. Illinois is a great school.

Congrats
Saturday, September 29 2007 at 08:00 PM

Hey, preciate the congrats! Right back at ya too! Two nice schools, and plenty more to come!!

hey don't worry
Sunday, March 04 2007 at 07:00 PM

BC's loss, right? :)

$$
Friday, October 26 2007 at 08:00 PM

That's a lot of money at UIUC! Congrats

hey
Monday, September 10 2007 at 08:00 PM

We have similar #s so I'm wishing you the best of luck. I'm sorry to hear about BC, I'm very surprised at that. Anyway, I'm sure the rest of your cycle will turn out better.

still waiting
Friday, June 29 2007 at 08:00 PM

hey number twin - one of these days we will hear back from Cornell, right? Does your status check still show early action complete?

congrats on W&L
Sunday, March 04 2007 at 07:00 PM

:)

;)
Monday, October 01 2007 at 08:00 PM

Congrats on your acceptances!

Hey, thanks Polly
Saturday, April 14 2007 at 08:00 PM

Congrats on your acceptances. Dunno much about UIUC but Lexington is such a gorgeous setting for a school. Are you planning to visit during the ASWs? If you like small towns you'll probably love it there. Anyway, congrats! Here's hoping for some good news from Emory =)

Thanks TM buddy!
Wednesday, May 03 2006 at 08:00 PM

Congrats on all of your acceptances. Our diligent undergrad still has yet to send Washington and Lee the required dean's cert. I just submitted it to the DSO for a third time today, and the deadline on that app is feb 1 :( Where are you leaning?

Congrats on Cardozo
Tuesday, October 30 2007 at 08:00 PM

Perhaps we'll be classmates!

Emory
Wednesday, October 03 2007 at 08:00 PM

I am supremely happy for you, Polly.

Thanks!
Monday, May 07 2007 at 08:00 PM

Thanks -- looks like we have a lot of similar schools! Congrats on Cardozo, I'm sure you'll be hearing good news from Brooklyn soon!

BU Green Card
Sunday, September 25 2005 at 08:00 PM

I did not receive a BU complete green post card, the first news I had from BU was a phone call. Which was a nice surprise.

Complete at BU
Wednesday, May 30 2007 at 08:00 PM

Hi there, I called them in mid November and they told me I was complete...then about a month later I got that little green postcard. They sent the decison via snail mail - I didn't get a call like alot of others. Since we're numbers twins, I'd say you've got a great shot. Good Luck!!!

Sounds good...
Wednesday, May 03 2006 at 08:00 PM

I'm leaning towards Tulane if I can get any money out of them.

Hey
Wednesday, May 03 2006 at 08:00 PM

So I decided to withdraw all my apps, retake in June and apply next cycle. I'm hoping to score around what you got. Any pointers on studying for the games section would be greatly appreciated. Did you use the grid system Pam taught us or did you use the TM slot system? I missed 10 on the games last June, so I figure any improvement in that section warrants retaking.

Looks like you will have a lot of good options and congrats on the Cornell deferral. I think I'd frame that on my wall... LOL.
