Extra Curricular Information

I hope my information is useful to others, so here are more details now that the cycle is complete.

-Unprestigious undergrad
-A couple extracurriculars, good depth and some leadership
-Non-legal PT work experience while in college
-Optional essays: "Why Michigan?" and "Why Penn?"
-Unconventional 4-page PS for schools that allowed that length (Michigan, Berkeley, Georgetown, Virginia). The rest got a more conventional 2-pager.

Additional info & updates

Received invitation to interview from Georgetown via email. I agreed and my status changed to "Interview" this afternoon.
Received acceptance package from Vanderbilt (decision mailed 12.12).

Received acceptance packet from Michigan (status changed 12.15). Acceptance is for the summer class. I applied for "either" but mentioned that I preferred summer.
Acceptance packet from CU-Boulder with scholarship (dated 12.21).

Fall transcript processed by LSAC, resulting in a slight GPA bump (to 3.82).
Sent Update/LOCI to Virginia. More like a "Why Virginia?".
Completed phone interview with Georgetown alumnus.
Withdrew from Washington.
Received rejection letter from Berkeley at permanent address (dated 2.07). I was not referred to the faculty committee.
Withdrew from Colorado.
Received waitlist email from Penn. Staying on.
Received rejection letter from Georgetown (dated 2.20) after contacting them about the status of my application last week. My status never changed from "Interview."
Submitted the Need Access application, completing my end of the financial aid dealio.
Received letter from Vanderbilt offering 20K/year Dean's Scholarship (dated 2.26).
Received email from Michigan with need-based grant offer. The amount above is a moderate estimate for the three-year aid package.
Somewhere in here I visited Michigan and had myself a time.
Withdrew from UCLA.
Sent an additional LOR to Cornell, Penn, and Virginia via LSAC.
Received letter from Vanderbilt offering a need-based scholarship on top of the Dean's Scholarship (dated 3.12).
Received waitlist letter from UCLA (dated 3.19), despite both Dean Schwartz and the Manager of Admissions Operations responding on 3.17 to my withdrawal email to confirm and to ask about my plans. Sneaky or Sloppy?

Received "reserve" letter from Cornell (dated 3.19, status changed 3.21). Given three weeks to decide whether or not to stay on.
Received rejection email from Washington. (Though I withdrew my pending application back on 1.25.)
Virginia status changed to "Decision;" received the snail mail about a week later: General Non-Resident Waitlist. Staying on.
Somewhere in here I visited Vandy and fell in love with Nashville.
Got distracted by something shiny and let Cornell's reserve-a-spot-on-the-reserve-list deadline pass without responding.
Reluctantly let Vandy's deposit deadline pass.
Withdrew from Penn and Virginia waitlists when I moved to Ann Arbor.
Received letter from Cornell (dated 6.26--it was redirected in the mail) notifying me that I was placed on the summer waiting list. Apparently I was never taken off the reserve list despite not responding to their request. Officially withdrew via email immediately.
