Extra Curricular Information

A list of leadership roles. nothing insane.

** Scholarship money = total for all three years

12/17 - UCLA Waitlist... As expected but still a bummer.

12/20 - Notre Dame Acceptance! email sent offering a scholarship as well :)

1/16 - GW Acceptance via email! (talk about efficient application processing)

1/23 - GW large acceptance packet arrived, including a handwritten note regarding my personal statement

1/23 - Hastings acceptance in thin white envelope. Also included handwritten note regarding my background

1/23 - Vanderbilt online status indicates a mailed decision...apparently i will receive it in several days? hoping to avoid the waitlist (which has plagued many 166ers this cycle)

1/24 - Accepted at Emory.

1/28 - WL at Vandy as expected. It was particularly disappointing as majority of 166ers were accepted last year.

2/1 - Accepted at Washington University via email

2/1 - Received a binder from Notre Dame + a cool little ND Law sticker. I have to holler at ND Law for their pretty impressive recruiting efforts. They have to this day sent me numerous letters, emails etc and even one customized email from a current ND 2L that went to the same undergrad as me and moved from the same city as me...good job ND.

2/19 - WAITLIST SEASON babyyyyyyyyyy. WL at Cornell (expected) and Penn?? Given Penn was the highest ranked school i applied to i am actually slightly excited about this? Thought of the day: USC hurry up!!!

2/21 - WAITLISTTTTT goes on and on and on and on. Duke WL by email this AM. I stated earlier that "166" has WL written all over it and my prediction is proving to be true.

*** Just wanted to make a quick note regarding law schools' communication levels with admitted students...ND has stayed in touch with me either by sending letters, binders, emails, etc at least once every couple of weeks and for some reason in my mind they have taken a high priority and consideration. Some schools have sent an acceptance letter and not another word...and they have slipped off my consideration list...this is subconscious if anything but worthy of a quick note.

2/22 - IN AT USC LAW! THRILLED!!!!! I love SCCCCCCCCCCCCC. oh also got first rejection this cycle at Berkeley but totally overshadowed!!! great timing :)

2/29 - Waitlisted at Michigan. Thats SEVEN waitlists so far.

3/4 - 10K a year scholarship at USC!!! Wooop wooop. No GPA requirement or other terms. Arrived by snail mail.

3/7 - $32,000 per year at Emory.......WOW. I didnt expect so much money from such an amazing school. Definitely a huge boost to Emory on my list. Now time to visit the school.

3/26 - $20,000 per year at WUSL!

3/28 - First series of withdrawals (based on USC offer):
- UC Hastings ... cant see myself moving up north for a lower ranked school
- Vanderbilt ... again no need to move for a non t14 (removing off waitlist)
- ND ... this was difficult as I really like ND and have given it serious thought.

4/1 - Waitlisted at UT via email

4/2 - Waitlisted at UVA via snail mail

*** So my cycle is now complete:
A whopping 9 waitlists
A modest 6 accepts
and A surprising single rejection. Thanks Berkeley for ruining the fun.

4/3 - More withdrawals:

- UT Waitlist
- GW
- Emory

No there aren't my top choices, GW and William & Mary are at the top of my list. I go to school in LA so I am ready to leave and really want to go somewhere in the DC area. Are they your top choices?

Ya im def still considering USC. Its been my first choice since getting my Dec LSAT, but I need to visit the school and a small scholarship to offset Emory. I'm probably (very reluctantly) going to w/d from ND too...Are you leaning anywhere?

on your USC decision! I used the same rationale when I decided on Emory; the scholarship was an added bonus. Good luck!

preciate the props bro, its been an amazing transformation in the last 5 years. It feels very surreal, but I guess Im an example of the creed "if you work hard you can achieve anything"! Good luck on your decisions and I hope you get some of those waitlists turned to acceptances!
