In my opinion, average/unspectacular LORs, above average ECs (a lot of volunteer work), and strong PS.

PS is about an experience I had working volunteering with refugee children from Africa.

Additional info & updates

Scholarship amounts are for all three years.

Looks like it's going to come down to USC or Fordham. East Coast or West Side? Ahh it's like Biggie vs. Tupac in my own mind!

I use rejection and waitlist letters as scratch paper.

Hey, Good Luck man! If by of color, you mean URM, You should be in damn good shape! Even if not, you will still hit a lot of those schools up there. Good luck on this cycle, 166ers rule!!

UW

I'm *definitely* drawn to UW right now, but it really depends on what the other schools come through with. Congrats on your acceptance there-- you got it fast!

congrats on all of your acceptances, especially hastings and BU. and good luck with the rest of your cycle. I think you're right about deferrals being worse than rejections... I'm waiting on hastings right now and its driving me crazy.

Hey UCSD-er

Hey... thanks for the post... yes, i am considering cardozo's scholarship, it is extremely tempting to be in nyc and graduate debt free. however, based in advice ive been given, i am leaning toward higher ranked schools at the moment... but keep me posted on your decision

Hey... if you don't have interest in biglaw, then by all means take the $$$! You'll have a JD from a respected school (which Cardozo definitely is, even if its not the greatest), and you'll be debt free, which should not be underestimated. Unfortunately I want biglaw so I am leaning towards higher schools.

still there!

i'm guessing you really don't like california then. i love california, so i want to go to hastings or davis (and if any better, then great!)

Thanks

And congrats to your huge scholarship from cardozo and all your acceptaces. Im kinda leaning towards cardozo, but i'm waiting to see how much scholarship money brooklyn will offer me. also, I'm going to check out st. john's, because it'll be hard to turn down a full scholarship. I'm going to visit those three in march so hopefully I will fall in love with one!

USC money
Sunday, January 13 2008 at 07:00 PM

Hey... congrats on USC! The money I got was for merit aid... so I don't think it had anything to do with the scholarship form, even though I did turn it in. However, I got an email saying they needed more forms from me, which I havent given in yet, so I'm pretty sure the merit aid isn't based on the form at all.

BC Waitlist Question
Friday, November 16 2007 at 07:00 PM

I'm curious - are you on the regular waitlist or the priority waitlist for BC? Do you know if there's a difference. I'm also on the WL so I'm curious - thanks!

USC
Sunday, October 21 2007 at 08:00 PM

Firstly, congrats on SC. Amazing school. I filled out the form but not sure if the scholarship was based on it...I received the scholarship offer a few days after i submitted the form so it seems unlikely. But submit anyway.

BIGGIE!

CHOOSE BIGGIE! :P

Friday, June 13 2008 at 08:00 PM

Congrats on your acceptances. I'm from Boston, and was curious about the fact that you got accepted to BU but waitlisted at BC. Do you have further information about thatu, such as why (if you don't mind)? I have been led to believe that BU is a bit of a better school than BC, although I prefer BC.

Congrats

My stats are really similar, UC, 166, 3.5, etc. Just wondering where you ended up. I'm in the application process right now...

East coast

I recommend Fordham. You've already lived in California. Why not experience living in NYC. And their dorms are really nice.

congrats
