Extra Curricular Information

+Very involved in volunteer work, various school organizations, and have an interesting background (or at least I hope so!).

+Positive outlook on life and motivated to succeed!

I know a lot of these schools are "reaches". But if, in the past, I had listened to those who told me something was impossible, I would not be where I am today.

Good luck to everyone - here's to a great cycle!

WL at Loyola. I will definitely be staying on - I would love to go here! I'm thinking about taking the June LSAT to try and improve my score, maybe it would help me get off the WLs I'm on?

Accepted at Baylor...kind of. Denied admission to the Fall class, offered admission to the Spring 09 class.

Before committee at IU - hoping for the best! I feel like this whole process is taking a very long time. Everyone keeps asking me where I am going and I feel kind of embarrassed telling them I have no idea yet. I do think I'm not alone, though - it looks like schools are taking longer to make decisions for borderline candidates this year...

WL at Pepperdine. Man, this lsat score is really killing me, huh? I will definitely be staying on Pepperdine's WL, though! I really love the school, it's gorgeous and has a program that I am very interested in. The letter said they won't be reconsidering anyone on the WL until mid-June, though...

Rejected at Texas, thin white envelope with a short and to-the-point letter. Ouch - this one stings, it's where I went to undergrad. It would be nice to receive an acceptance letter some time soon! At this point it seems likely I'll be headed out Los Angeles in the fall.

Deferred to regular admission at SMU. Regular white envelope.

Received the official thanks but no thanks from Vanderbilt. Came in a tellingly thin white envelope.

Complete at UCLA (email) and Pepperdine (email). I am now officially complete at all schools. Let the waiting begin!

Complete at SMU (email), USC (email), and Loyola (snail mail letter).

Complete at Texas (email), Vanderbilt (email), and Indiana (postcard).

Complete at Baylor (email) - my first "complete"! Application received at Indiana.

Sent in my Pepperdine application! The mission statement took me awhile but I was finally happy with it a few days ago and sent everything in. Apps received at Baylor, Loyola, Pepperdine, and USC. I called about my missing document at Indiana, they were very nice about it. Still have not sent in an application to Miami. I'm going to do a bit more research about Miami/Florida and call up a few friends who live in that area. I just want to make sure it is a school I would actually attend before I apply.

"We've received your application" email from Texas. Finished my application for Baylor and sent it in. While on LSAC, I noticed that Loyola and Southern California have also requested my LSAC report. Yay! I also noticed that I FORGOT to attach a document to Indiana!! I will have to call them tomorrow morning...

"We've received your application" emails from Vanderbilt and SMU.

Sent most of my applications in. Still missing Pepperdine, Baylor, and Miami. Debating about applying to Miami, though. It's the only school in Florida I'm considering, and I'm still considering if I would move to Florida!

Thanks. To be honest I was pretty surprised. I'm out of the country but my roommate opened the mail so i'm hoping he isn't screwing with me. Good luck on Loyola and the rest of your schools. Feel free to email...

Thanks for the kind words. Baylor certainly was a good Christmas present! Did you apply for the summer or fall quarter there? Don't let anybody tell you that you're not good enough to do something. I was too conservative in applying to my undergraduate school and I regret that thoroughly.

I'm really excited to see what happens with them. I am complete there...I have been since November but I forgot to put it up here.

Loyola notified me by mail with a similar packet as Chapman. They need to change the ton cartridge on their printer (my letter was fading). When I check the mail I watch for large packages. I haven't been rejected anywhere yet, but I figure you only get a letter instead of the larger folder. Good Luck! Pepperdine just started reviewing apps, so expect to hear from them later in the month!

Just wanted to say good luck this cycle! You're on my watch list since we share numbers/schools. I also reached for Vandy and UT this year... not holding my breath, but would be awesome!

Thanks for the advice on Pepperdine. I am going to give them a call tomorrow for sure. Hopefully we will be able to get it sorted out. It's scary because they say that they review applications in January and make decisions in early Feb. I hope that my inadvertant carelessness didn't get me thrown into a pile that I won't be able to get out of! Good luck at SMU, too. Judging from last year's cycle we should find out this week.

thanks on pepperdine. i was sure that because of my ps i had been rejected. this whole smu thing is really discouraging. i thought we would know by the end of jan but after rereading the application, they just promise to mail out a decision by the end of jan. and we could always be deferred. hopefully they give us a chance. as of right now i think they are running a 166 on avg accepted! i don't understand why all of your schools are taking so long. sometimes i complain about how slow my cycle is going compared to my friends, but looking at your profile i figured you would have at least heard back from IU, UT, and baylor. anyways, good luck. hopefully smu makes us both happy campers shortly.
