Best of Luck to you! Thx for ur encouraging words! I thought about NC Central...maybe I should go ahead and apply! Best of luck to you!!

Good Luck!
Wednesday, February 20 2008 at 07:00 PM

I applied late as well and have been pleasantly surprised so far! A lot of schools seem to have deferred or held off a good number of decisions this year so you shouldn't be too disadvantaged applying late.

Thanks

Thanks for your comment and your advice...I appreciate it. I'm planning on apply to John Marshall and a couple others once I can come up with the money...this is getting expensive! Guess it's worth it in the long run though. Good luck to you, keep in touch.

App.

Yeah I have decided not to apply there. I didn't want to go that far in the mountains. I am putting all of my hopes into NCCU hoping for some goodluck. Thanks for the encouragement.

Thanks

Thank you and good luck on your apps! I'm still waiting to hear from a few schools so I don't know if I'm going there yet or not. I love Charlotte so that wouldn't be a bad place to end up, though. I'm going to visit over Easter when I go home. Let me know how open house goes! Any of my NC schools are my top choices...trying to be open minded at this point. Good luck again!

What's up, man? Thanks for the 'congrats.' To answer your questions, I submitted the majority of my apps between Jan 7 and Jan 15; and of the schools that have accepted me, Albany is my #1. However, I found out yesterday that I wasn't awarded any scholarships for Albany, so this could change things at 'the end of the day.' I definitely don't want over 100K in debt upon graduation. Other than that, I have good feelings about being accepted to Wyoming and Idaho . Before moving to DC last fall, I had spent the last 8 years in the Mountain West (SLC), so I wouldn't mind a return - I just have to decide if I want to sacrifice the career opportunities in NY for the more calm and quiet life/career of the Mountain West. Deciding on a lifestyle seems to be climbing my list of factors in choosing a school. At the outset, it was all about the money and the size of the legal market. It's funny how things change the more you learn about yourself. What about you? What are your top choices?

thanks

On the congrats. I'm actually torn between Wake Campbell and UNC (if by some chance i get in), they all have a lot to offer.

Thanks!

How was the open house? What have you heard about the school (negatively) besides it being very new and all?

Washburn
Saturday, December 22 2007 at 07:00 PM

Thanks a lot. Good luck on yours. And yeah I'm all ready to head to Washburn. I can get in state tuition by second semester and they've been really nice so far. I'll keep an eye on your schools, you never know which one might really stand out once you get accepted, I know I Washburn was a last second school for me.

Interview
Saturday, May 05 2007 at 08:00 PM

My interview wasn't too bad. It did last for 3-4 hours, but it wasn't a constant interrogation. I was drilled on a few questions on my app, especially on past grades and conduct. You also need to be prepared to answer the proverbial question: "Why do you want to go to law school?" Also, dress nice -- I wore a suit. Other than that, just try and relax. It is a good opportunity for you to learn about the school as well. It is one of my top choices and will very likely be there in August. Good Luck.

Thanks.
Sunday, October 07 2007 at 08:00 PM

My first choice is definitely Ga. State b/c its a good school and tuition is cheap. But I know my numbers are a bit low for them. My 2nd choice is Mercer. After that it depends on scholarship money.

Campbell
Friday, February 22 2008 at 07:00 PM

Good luck to you also! What are your top choices? I just set up my interview for Campbell in a couple weeks. I'm going to try to visit Elon also while down there. I think I'm leaning towards Campbell over the two if I get in but we will have to see. Good luck on hearing back from your schools!

Thanks
Monday, December 17 2007 at 07:00 PM

The interview was pretty laid back. It was with a prof. and he was really nice. It wasn't intimidating at all and probably only lasted about 45 mins or an hour. If I get in to any, my top 3 are Georgia State, South Carolina, and Ole Miss. I am expecting rejections from all the other schools except Mercer and Arkansas.

My letter from elon was a large white envelope but it was thin with only 3 papers. They sent more information a couple of days later. Did you say you have visited campbell and elon...if so what did you think about the two and which was you favorite. Good luck and keep me updated

Campbell
Tuesday, April 17 2007 at 08:00 PM

Hey! Just got your message...congrats on all the acceptances...I've decided on Cooley b/c of the scholarship money....Campbell sent me an email in January to let me know that I was "on hold" and then offered me Performance Based Admissions Program a few weeks ago

Good Luck
Tuesday, March 25 2008 at 08:00 PM

Similar numbers and late into the game, like you say. Good luck in your search, and my top picks are the schools with the best health law programs that I can get into, like St. Louis, Hofstra, and some of the dream schools I appied to. Thanks.

I have my interview for Wed. and then I am going to Greensboro to visit Elon and sit in a class the next day. Have you heard anything from Elon yet?

Campbell
Monday, December 24 2007 at 07:00 PM

Thanks for the congrats. I actually didn't have a formal interview. I have a friend that goes there, and I attended their barrister's ball, and stayed an extra day to tour the campus/building. I just happened to run into Dean Hutchinson and we just chatted about law school in general, the school's upcoming move to Raleigh, and a lot of other chit chat. I sat in on a class, and met a bunch of people. It's in the middle of nowhere, but has a quaint campus, and every seemed very nice. Hope that helps, and good luck to you!

Thanks

I am looking at taking one of the Test Masters courses. I have heard good things about the program. I hope there will be no need for it, but I am just not sure if NCCU is going to give me a shot. The process is odd with Central because it seems like they take a mixed bag of applicants. They notified me back at the end of February that my application was complete and they would have a decision for me in 6-8 weeks. So it should be soon. Goodluck to you with all of your applications. Keep in touch. I will let you know what happens.

Thank you
Tuesday, March 11 2008 at 08:00 PM

hey thank you for the comment. Concrats on the schools you already got accepted to. I pray that many more doors open up for you. Which one is your number 1?

Elon $$
Saturday, May 05 2007 at 08:00 PM

The initally sent a letter to permanent address, which is different than where I really live, and gave me $2K per year. They sent me an email today about the increase. I guess when I didn't send in my seat deposit by April 1 they decided to up the ante. They extended the deadline until April 18.

Letter
Saturday, May 05 2007 at 08:00 PM

Oh yea, the scholarship letter came several weeks after the acceptance letter.

Campbell
Wednesday, April 02 2008 at 08:00 PM

Thank you for the advice! I have been wanting to email but didn't know if I should or not - I'm sure they have tons of people trying to find out their decisions right now. Why is it good news if I haven't heard yet??? I've been PRAAAYING for an email requesting an interview but nothings come yet.... I think I will email them now actually b/c I'm super anxious about it...

I withdrew from Elon today, so there is an extra 5K out there for you.

NCCU
Thursday, November 29 2007 at 07:00 PM

They sent me an email back on Feb. 28 informing me my file was complete and to expect a decision some time within 6 to 8 weeks. But, no word yet, and I cringe whenever I go to the mailbox to look in.

NCCU
Sunday, January 27 2008 at 07:00 PM

Hey! They did notify me when I was complete and it was exactly 7 weeks and two days after that I got the letter with the PBAP invite. I decided to do it! I am nervious but feel good about it. Let me know how things go.

School visit
Friday, February 22 2008 at 07:00 PM

I went by Campbell for my interview wed. and liked the school a lot. I was pretty sure that I would go there if I get in. The next day I went to Elon to sit in a class and the asst. dean of admissions told me I was being offered a money to go to Elon. This is good but it is going to make my decision very tough because I really like both schools. Congrats on Elon...is that where you are going to go?

Elon
Friday, February 22 2008 at 07:00 PM

I liked the school and the people a lot but Greensboro seemed a little old and run down to me. I don't think it's going to affect my decision because the surrounding area is nice.

campbell
Wednesday, April 02 2008 at 08:00 PM

still no word from Campbell - I emailed admissions a week ago & they told me my file was "currently under review" ... hopefully I'll hear soon b/c I only have 30 days before my $400 deposit at FCLS is due. comment me when you hear your decision from campbell & i'll do the same for u!

Mercer&Charleston
Sunday, April 06 2008 at 08:00 PM

Good luck, our numbers are similar. I'm still waiting on both of them too. Why does this take forever!?

me the risk taker
Sunday, January 27 2008 at 07:00 PM

I don't think I'll accept Charlotte and just put all my chips in for NCCU. the PBAP starts May 12th. I hope all goes well! Good luck with the rest of your apps!

Charleston
Sunday, April 06 2008 at 08:00 PM

I called yesterday and they told me that they would be making final decisions "by the end of the month". I feel like it's a broken record, b/c Mercer said the SAME thing. Thanks for the wishes, I wish the same for you. I NEED some positive news. I had to wait until early February to send out ALL of my applications because of financial issues, poor starving college student here, haha. But then FSU didn't send out my Dean's Certification letters, which I actually requested in January. (I sent apps with LSDAS in January, paid app fees later). Hope you hear good news from Charleston and Mercer soon. -Lela

Thanks...
Monday, December 24 2007 at 07:00 PM

...for the congrats on Richmond and Charleston. I am still waiting on the financial aid info from both before I make my decision. And I am going to visit the campuses soon as well. So we'll see. Congrats on your acceptances, and hopefully you'll hear some more good news soon.

PBAP
Sunday, April 06 2008 at 08:00 PM

Not really. I'm pretty pissed about it. I don't really want to spend extra time and money on an already expensive and lengthy education - especially since admission is only conditional. IM me if you want, I'd love to have someone to talk to about it- tootie1337.

Monday, November 05 2007 at 07:00 PM

thanks. well, i'm not sure if it's a good sign, but i still have my fingers crossed! at this point i think it is UNC (they have to let me know in the next few days...by May 1st) or take the LSATs over and try again next year. i already skipped out on the (small) scholarships at the other schools. where are you planning on attending? best wishes!

NC
Monday, November 05 2007 at 07:00 PM

i noticed you have been out of school for a few years too. this is my 3rd year out of undergrad. i hate to wait another year, but i figure it might be worth it in the long run. some people don't go to law school until their 40s! we have plenty of time. maybe we'll both wait a year, get a 180, and i'll see ya at UNC. (or maybe duke if the 180 actually happens! haha)

Mercer
Sunday, April 06 2008 at 08:00 PM

Rejected from Mercer today via white envelope. :[ Bad cycle, I'm pretty sure I'm taking a year off, retaking the LSAT, yada yada. I'd love to talk to you more about this though, perhaps get some advice. As I said, feel free to IM me if you want to. :) Good luck, Lela.

elon
Friday, February 22 2008 at 07:00 PM

hey have you heard anything about the accepted students day for elon yet?

campbell
Wednesday, April 02 2008 at 08:00 PM

just got an email today saying i'm waitlisted there. so annoying. i'm waitlisted at NCCU, USC & Campbell. I can't be sitting around waiting up until classes start so I'll most likely make plans to go to Florida Coastal. SO ANNOYED.

Elon
Friday, February 22 2008 at 07:00 PM

well i decided i'm def. going to Elon next year... campbell has been very frustrating. Never lived in NC but have always visited family...sounds like I'll see you there in the fall. Good luck

Campbell PBAP
Monday, May 12 2008 at 08:00 PM

Are you going to attend PBAP?

Elon
Wednesday, January 23 2008 at 07:00 PM

Yes my wife and I went did you? I really like the school and hope I get off the dreaded wait-list. I am moving to High Point in July, so if it\'s a no-go then I\'ll just have to reapply.

Question?
Wednesday, June 18 2008 at 08:00 PM

Congrats on the school man. Your very lucky that you are heading to law school. I live in California and my dream has always been to attend University of North Carolina. I am a senior in college with a very good GPA, however my LSAT is not so shiny like the other numbers. Do you think i should apply to NC Central if i dont get accepted to Chapel Hill? Can i get a good job and earn a good living in carolina if i come out of NC Cenral? Thanks man. Again, congrats and good luck

Elon

Thanks alot for the comment. My top choice is Campbell but my top realistic choice is Elon. App Law would be nice, but i'd like to live in a semi-nice size town. i've got my fingers crossed for Elon, keep me up to date about how it is.
