Additional info & updates

So all my first tier choices rejected me because I played around with Columbia's ED and kept my applications open for my other schools..... I don't think Columbia ever talked to my other three choices because they haven't sent me any word..... So I guess I'll be going to Pepperdine, USD or Chapman now if I want to go this year.

did you get rejected from these schools because of your ED app to Columbia?

Monday, November 30 2009 at 07:00 PM

Yes, I ended up getting rejected at those schools because of my ED app. Two of them originally offered me admission and retracted their offers as soon as they found out. Who knows what the other schools will do. I am no longer a candidate for admission at Columbia so I figure it shouldn't matter for the remaining schools. They could use my numbers. But you never know. Lesson learned.

What do you mean played around? So I am guessing you were accepted to the Columbia's Early Decision Program, but did not decide to accept their offer, and/or applied to other law schools, while also keeping other law school applications open? This is a very interesting situation. You could still apply to Northwestern, the University of Michigan or UVA.

I didn't think anyone actually would take this risk in real life. I mean why did you not think they would call you out?

Because of ED?

Wow, it seems rather unnecessary for the other schools to retract an acceptance offer just because you were ED at Columbia. Maybe I just don't understand top tier elitism. But I can't see good reasons for passing you up, esp with your LSAT.

I'm done with applying to law school and could care less. You see most of you are going to end up 150-200k in debt, and at 7 per cent interest, your looking at 12-14k of your money going to interest alone. Even at the elite schools, half of you wont even make it to one of the top 250 firms. Most of you that do make it big firm will flame out because of the hours and because of the partners thats treat you like shit. And then you will be left with the debt. So I am actually grateful Columbia and the rest of the top schools told me to fuck off, because now I can focus my life on things that won't take 3 years of my life and 60k a year of my money. And at the end of the day, I'm going to be just as ahead as the asshole Harvard law grad because unlike most people I have great connections, people skills, and I am not naive with my money. Law school is a total waste of time unless you 1) have the money to pay the tuiton or scholarships, 2) Go to a great school, and 3) know that you are already going to love practicing law, have some experience in it already, and can stand doing 80 hrs a week of document review and all the other bs discovery work the firm demands for the first five years of your employment. The only way you get ahead is if you suck all the partners cocks (there are few vagina partners even though this is the 21st century), never screw up, and are just outright lucky. So peace out law, im moving on.

If the people above me can't figure out that this account is a troll, then I pity your law careers. 1. His user name. 2. His school selections. No one with those numbers apply to TTTs like Chapman, SD, etc. 3. His long-winded post that just screams troll.
