Extra Curricular Information

Some numbers/data fudged; accurate information will be given at end of cycle.

$$$$ is over 3 years. UIUC/ND unconditional. All others conditional on class rank (usually top 1/3 or 3.2 GPA or thereabouts). UNLV $$$$ reflects tuition increases in 2L and 3L years.

As noted in comments, this page looks screwed up in IE for some reason. But it's fine in FF... which everyone should be using anyway.

ADDITIONAL INFO & UPDATES

**UPDATES** OK, updates back since you guys want them.
Mailings to current address unless otherwise noted. Dates reflect postmark for snail mail, so some updates are not in the order I received them.
3/03: UNLV, big envelope, perm address
3/05: Villanova status checker to decision. Acceptance later, small thin envelope, permanent address.
3/09: Kent acceptance via e-mail
3/19: Temple acceptance via e-mail (packet later sent to perm addy)
3/19: Hastings acceptance, small thick envelope
3/24: Notre Dame WL, small envelope... bummer.
3/24: NYU rejection, small envelope. Expected.
3/25: Minn status checker to decision, phone call acceptance same day.
4/02: WUSTL waitlist, small envelope. Unexpected.
4/03: UoP acceptance, big thick envelope.
4/04: UIUC waitlist on status checker. Definitely unexpected.
4/04: UVA status checker to decision. Rejection later, small envelope.
4/04: GMU rejection, small envelope. Not a good day!
4/08: Georgetown status checker to decision. Rejection later, small env.
4/14: Weird psychoanalyzing confirmation of interest phone call from Cardozo. Thinking they try way too hard to YP.
4/15: UIUC e-mail requesting confirmation of interest. Replied positively.
4/15: Deposit @ Hastings. Withdraw from all others w/ 4/15 deadline.
4/16: UIUC admits + $60k. Waste of $150 at Hastings. ;)
4/16: Withdraw from Hastings.
4/16: BC rejection, small envelope.
4/21: GW rejection, small envelope.
4/22: Davis waitlist, small envelope. Withdraw.
4/23: Fordham waitlist via e-mail. Near the low point of my cycle.
4/24: Boulder waitlist, small envelope. Withdraw.
4/28: UPenn rejection, small envelope. Expected but very disappointed.
4/29: Duke waitlist via e-mail. Feels like good news even though it isn't..
4/29: Emory waitlist, small envelope.
5/02: USC rejection, small envelope. D'oh!
5/05: Withdraw from UMinn. Simply unimpressed.
5/06: Northwestern rejection on status checker. Very disappointed.
5/07: ND phone call requesting confirmation of interest. Immediate acceptance + $48k.
5/09: Chicago rejection, small envelope. My #1 choice, but expected.
5/10: Cornell status checker to decision. Rejection a few days later in small envelope. T14 purgatory it is!
5/13: Fordham e-mail acceptance off waitlist (packet sent to perm addy)
5/14: Cardozo call, WL. Withdraw - had enough of their YP games.
5/16: BU withdraw. Not going to bother waiting for a decision.
5/18: UCLA rejection, small envelope.
*5/22: Deposit ND, withdraw Fordham/UIUC. Campus visits made this an absolute no-brainer. I will wait out Duke until the end. UCLA could make things interesting, but they'll have to do it sooner rather than later.
5/23: BU acceptance. Apparently didn't process my withdraw e-mail... hilarious.
6/11: Cardozo sends another *e-mail* asking me to *call* them, even though I already withdrew. I don't know what's wrong with those people...

Good luck to everyone still in limbo...

Yeah, so... I accessed this page on IE (instead of Firefox like I usually do) and the formatting in the "Sent" column is totally screwed up. Not sure if that's my fault or not, but it looks fine in FF... :P

Applied around the same time as you. Similiar numbers, cept you've got an edge on the LSAT. Hope you get into the schools you want.

Depending on the results though, I might just wait out another cycle and reapply. And I am a VA resident, though I'm afraid the late application might even cancel out the benefits. Good luck, let's hope we both end up where we want.

  • Friday, April 25 2008 at 08:26 AM

Man you've had a wacky cycle. Accepted at Minnesota, WLed at Colorado. Do you think it was primarily due to your application time? Anyway, best of luck with the schools you are waiting to hear from.

Yeah, I'll wait that one out till the bitter end. How about you so far? There's still a bunch of question marks so it's probably difficult now for you to make a decision.
